Brickney Spears : Talented With a Spear
Shia led a happy and peaceful life at Armorville. But, he longed for a best friend.
One day, while Shia was walking and whistling along the paths of his hometown, he met a little girl who was talking to her stuffed animals while sitting near a fountain. Shia was curious, so he approached her to say hello.
"Hi there," Shia greeted her. "I'm Shia Saide LaBlade, 5. And you?"
"Oh! You surprised me!" The girl suddenly jumped up. "M-M-My name's Brickney, Brickney Jean Spears, 4. Did I make a good first impression? Or did I look bad playing with Beanie and Stuffie?" Brickney asked as she showed him her stuffed Teddy Bear and Dragon.
"Wow! I thought you played with dolls!" Shia exclaimed. "And yes, you did make a good, no, great first impression. I love toys too! Check out my lion and my puma, Leo and Pouncer! Rrargh!" Shia then took out his stuffed animals and showed them to Brickney.
"Thank you for not humiliating me, Shia," Brickney thanked him. "Nice toys by the way, they're adorable!"
"Thanks! Say... Do you often bring Beanie and Stuffie out here?" Shia asked Brickney.
"I thought you'll never ask," Brickney replied. "I bring them out here every day. And I don't just talk to them, I express my feelings to them, happy, or sad. Wait, is that the Knights' Academy armor you're wearing?"
"Oh, yes," Shia replied. "You like it?"
"Very," Brickney replied. "But my mama and papa won't let me join the academy, just because I'm a girl and I'm weak..."
"That's so unfair!" Shia exclaimed. "My parents agreed instantly right after I asked them! "
"Thanks for understanding, Shia. My dream is to become a celebu-Knight, but I don't know which weapon to choose for tournaments and entertainment..."
"A lance?" Shia asked.
"Mm, not my type, too long..." Brickney replied.
"An axe?" Shia asked once more.
"Too swingy, I don't wanna hurt anyone with its sharp blades. "
"Then, how 'bout... Wait, is that a spear?" The children turned their little heads as they saw Brickney's father, Brickford, and mother, Sylvia walking towards her. Brickney noticed that her father was holding a light purple spear.
"I'm sorry, my daughter," her father spoke. "I shouldn't have been so harsh. Here you go, your very own spear! Try it. "
Brickney waved it as she pressed some buttons underneath the spear. Small, little arrows started shooting out of it.
"Alright! This one's perfect for me! Thanks, dad!" Brickney went to hug her father.
"Don't thank me, thank your mom. I wouldn't have agreed to give you my self-made spear if it wasn't for her! I'll keep it till you're older, though. You'll use this one instead," Brickford said as he handed a spear model to Brickney.
"Self-made spear?!?" Shia exclaimed as he watched Brickney thanking her mother.
"Oh! Isn't that Shinus LaBlade's son?" Brickford exclaimed as he noticed Shia behind his daughter. "He's our neighbor! And my best friend too!"
"My dad's your neighbor?!? That makes me...your neighbor too, Brickney!!! We can be best buds!!! Since our dads are best buds too! That's even better!"
"Yeah! Right dad?" Brickney looked at her father.
"Yes, Brickney, dear," her father replied. "Now, what are you waiting for? Go play with your best friend!"
"YAY! Thanks, dad!" Brickney exclaimed.
"Thank you, uncle!" Shia thanked him as well.
"You're welcome, kids. Oh! And don't forget to wear this tomorrow, you're going to the Knights' Academy with him!" Brickford reminded her as he took out a suit of armor, especially for the Knights' Academy juniors.
"THANK YOU, FATHER!!! YOU TOO, MOTHER!" Brickney hugged her father and mother as she thanked them once more.
"C'mon, best friend!" She turned to Shia as she said. "The last one to reach the fountain is a stuffed boar!" She said as she and Shia handed their toys to Brickford and raced towards the fountain.
"But I wanna become a stuffed animal, Brickney, and you're gonna be one with me!" He said as he "captured" his best friend.

Standing far behind the kids, Brickford was chatting with his wife.
"Oh, look at this Sylvie," Brickford showed her the kids' toys as he said. "We used to play toys like these when we're kids, remember? At your house?"
"Oh yeah!" Sylvia remembered about something. "You were hilarious and childish when it comes to toys like these. You even played with them as an adolescent!"
"Shh... Don't tell the kids!" Brickford put his hand over his lips as he laughed along with his wife, while happily watching Shia and Brickney play...
