Chapter 10
After Clay finished rehearsing his apology to Lance, he ran out of his room straight away to look for him.
And...he found Lance on the sofa, already preparing to sit there after he heard Clay's footsteps. He's fast!
"Ah! Clay," Lance pretended to not hear what Clay has rehearsed. "What are you doing here? I thought you were training with the others."
"No, I'm not, Lance," Clay replied. "In fact, I was about to...well...apologise to you..."
"Oh," Lance said in 'surprise'. "I thought..."
"Lancelot, my dear friend," Clay said as he looked at a piece of paper. "I'm very, very sorry about what I said to you earlier. We were like brothers, and we would usually hang out with each other. But now, we were fighting because the both of us loved the same girl. I think that this is a very foolish act, as I should've let you have her instead..."
"Wait, wha..." Lance was shocked for real this time.
"Yes. I thought about it, and I immediately knew that your love for Macy is indeed sincere. I hope that the two of you will live happily ever af-"
"Clay, this is ridiculous!" Lance exclaimed as he grabbed Clay's shoulders. "You always had a crush on Macy, why would you just give her up like this?"
"No, I didn't give her up." Clay replied. "I just thought that it's time you get married and lead a completely new and happy life..as a King. Since this is your dream."
"No! I mean...yes, this WAS in fact my dream. But, I just wanted to be with Macy. I don't care if I'm King or not, of if she isn't actually a Princess. For I loved her for who she is, not what she is."
"And that's why she's perfect for you, Lancelot Richmond." Clay said.
"Hey hey hey... You went too far, Clayton Cleroy Falcor Moorington...Jr!" Lance was a little angry. "I know I loved Macy. But you, you loved her MORE than I did. And I think you desperately wanted to be with her, am I right?"
"Yes. You are, Lance." Clay replied.
"Great. Well, there are plenty of women out there that I could choose from. And I recently realised that I'm NOT the perfect choice for Macy. Not even ONE bit. 'Why?' You ask. Cuz Macy's a tough warrior Princess, and I'm just a stupid, lame, rich kid who wants nothing but fame. And you? You are strong, brave, honourable, and never disobeys the Knights' Code. And I admire you for that. I'm sure Macy does too. That's why you're the PERFECT choice for the Princess. Besides, this is a FORCED marriage. I don't wanna be forced to marry, even if the bride is the one whom I truly love. You deserve to be with her, Clay."
Clay thought for a while as Macy and the others arrived at the living room to see what had happened. Lance looked at him in the eye, hoping that he'll agree with him.
"Well...okay, then. I hope that you'll find yourself a true love sooner or later." Clay wished him as he smiled. Then, the two of them embraced.
"Take care of her for me, Clay." Lance said.
"I will, my friend." Clay replied as the others smiled happily.
"I'm glad that the two of you finally made up." Macy said.
"Macy!" Clay and Lance exclaimed as they hugged the Princess.
"The wedding!" Macy exclaimed suddenly. "How about the wedding?"
"Oh, yeah!" Clay exclaimed. "What should we do about it?"
"Oh, I've forgotten about it..." Macy sighed. "I've decided to see what will happen at the wedding. Cuz I obviously have no idea how to stop it."
"I agree with Macy." Clay said. "Let's just watch how things will progress..."
Everybody sighed as they reluctantly and unwillingly waited for the forced wedding to arrive...except for Lance.
He already thought of a plan right before Clay arrived to apologise to him. He is ready to save the wedding, but he decided to not reveal his plan to the others...yet.
I wonder what his plan is, though...
