It been a week since Stephen came through the anomaly. He's still staying with me because there's been a lot of issues with the ARC housing recently. I don't mind, I like not being alone. I mean, don't get me wrong I love living on my own because you get to do what you want without anyone stopping you, but, it does get lonely from time to time.

Over the past week, me and Stephen have become the best of friends. We have so much in common and the rest of the team seem to be getting used to him. Its been harder for Connor and Abby because they knew a different Stephen and had to deal with his death, but we've all been there for them and they seem to be doing okay.

"Kat...lets go!" Stephen banged on my bedroom door, waking me up for the second time that morning.

"I'm up, I'm up! I'll be out in 5!" I say, going to have the worlds quickest shower, before getting dressed. I hear him moan before walking off, probably to go make some breakfast. Before I get dressed I shout to Stephen,                                                                                                                                      "Stephen! Are we taking the bike or car?!" I shout. Stephen is the only one I let drive my car or motorbike. Like me, in his universe he owned a motorbike. So I trust him, which is great because its means if I'm not in the mood to drive I don't have to!                                                                                        "Car! It raining" Stephen shouts back to me. I go to my wardrobe and pull out my light blue skinny jeans, my black, white and grey sectioned top, my black/navy 'bubble' coat as I call it because its poufy, and my brown knee length boots.

I leave my hair down to try naturally before walking out of my room with my phone and meeting Stephen in the kitchen. He hands me a large travel mug, full of coffee and some toast.                                                           "Thanks" I say, tucking into my toast. I sit at the kitchen counter and he stands leaning of the door frame, drinking from his mug of coffee. After I finish my toast, I grab my keys and we head outside to the car. Stephen was in fact right, and it was raining, heavily. Luckily for us my garage links to the building so we don't have to go outside to reach the car.

I get in the drivers seat and put on my seatbelt. I check Stephen has done the same before pulling out and heading for the ARC. We arrive 30 minutes later, stupid traffic. But luckily for me, Stephen made sure we left early. We park the car before making our way through security. Stephen has basically moved into my office, which I guess we now share.

Its not long before we are racing to the control room, due to the ADD going off through the building. We arrive first, to see a very panicked Jess.                                                                                                            "Wooh! Jess what's wrong? what's going on?" I ask her, placing my hand on hr shoulder to calm her. She takes a deep breathe before pulling up the map with the location of the anomaly on it. She doesn't have to say anything for us to worry. Its at a school, again. Last time this happened we lost a few men and I nearly lost my life. It's not just at any school though, its at the same school as before, I now see why Jess was worried.

Becker soon arrives with the others. We brief them and Stephen on what we know before grabbing our black boxes and coms. We run to the cars before driving to the location. Me, Emily, Stephen and Matt in one car and Abby, Connor and Becker in another, whilst Becker's men ride in their own. The car ride is spent in silence, with me and Stephen in the back. I take some deep breathes to try and calm my nerves which are racing, which doesn't go unnoticed by the others.                                                                          " Before you ask I'm fine, just a little nervous" I say looking to Stephen then Matt in the front. They nod their reply right as we arrive on scene.

The good thing for us this time round, is that Easter holidays have just started meaning there shouldn't be anyone inside the school. That's a good thing to know, but still fails to help settle my nerves. We grab an EMD each and Connor grabs the locking mechanism, before we make our way into reception. We gather together and Matt gives out orders.                                                                                "Okay Connor and Abby I want you to search for the anomaly, Me and Emily will take the top level and Becker, Stephen and Kat I want you to search the bottom level." Matt says, looking around the group. We agree and split up. I know what Matt's doing putting me with Stephen and Becker and I'm not going to lie its does make me feel a little safer. Not that I don't trust the others or feel safe with them, but Becker's like my brother and I really like Stephen, so you know.

We cleared the first half of the bottom floor quickly. We soon found the anomaly and once Connor and Abby showed up we continued the search. It wasn't until we came to a corridor that split into 3 that we heard an all mighty roar. We decide to split up and investigate. Even though it was my idea, I'm stilled terrified. I'm nearly at the end of my area when I turn a corner and come face to face with a Gorgonopsid. I try to shoot at it but my guns dies, why? why now? I say to my self, starting to freak out. I have no other option but to run for it.

I turn another corner, still terrified, I continue to try and run for it. When I get far enough away for the Gorgonopsid's teeth I radio the others.                                                                                                                  "Guys! I need help...being...chased...by...a...Gorgonopsid I think!" I saying out of breath from running. Right as I said that, I was throw against the lockers. I looked up and saw the Gorgonopsid being shot by an EMD, right before everything went black.

Next thing I knew Newt, who as well as being a soldier is also a doctor, and the others are standing around me and I'm being shaken awake. My head and leg are killing me. I slowly open my eyes,                                                "Kat...Kat can you hear me? That's it open your eyes for me" Newt says placing something on my head to stop the slow flow of blood that's pooling on the floor. I open my eyes fully and groan as I try to move. I look up and see Stephen knelt down next to me and the others all stood behind him.                                                                                          "I'm okay...although my head and leg are killing me" I say sitting up against the lockers with the help of Newt and Stephen.                                                                                                                                            "Yeah, you've got a nasty cut on you head and you've had quite a bump. I don't think your leg is broken but I think you may have some possible muscle or ligament damage, maybe a slight fracture" Newt say examining my leg. I wince in pain. I tell Newt that I don't want to go in an ambulance or to the hospital, so he agrees to just take me back to the ARC.

I ride in the back with Newt and put my leg up. Stephen drives us and Abby rides shotgun. We arrive back at the ARC shorty. With the help of Newt I get out of the car. Stephen comes over I assume just to help my to the medical bay but before I can say anything he picks me up bridal style. I squeal a little out of shock but he just laughs and heads for the medical bay.

Stephen stays with me and after assuring the others I'm fine they go back to work. My ankle gets x-rayed and whilst I'm waiting for the results Newt stiches up my head. Luckily its in my hairline so even if I have a scar, you wont notice it. Newt returns shortly after with my x-ray results.                                                                          "Okay so its not broken, but there is a minor fracture, and some muscle damage. You wont have to wear a cast, but you will have to wear a boot for a few weeks" He says pointing out the fracture on the x-ray. He goes to a storage cupboard and pulls out a walking boot.

Luckily because its such a small fracture I can use a walking boot and not use crutches and it will heal in a few weeks. He shows me how to put it on and then discharges me. I walk to the control room, slowly, with Stephen.                                                

"Great! I have a new friend for a few weeks!" I say sarcastically as we arrive in the control room to see everyone in there. I sit on one of the counters before explaining what's wrong.                                                    "So I have a very tiny fracture in my ankle and have to wear this boot for a few weeks. I'm on reduced duties, a.k.a office work and no field work" I say sulking a little.

Its been a long day. Once we finish at the ARC, Stephen drives us back to mine. He offers to make us dinner, which of course I except and an hour later we're sat eating pasta with a beautiful sauce whilst watching a movie. I must of fallen asleep because when I wake up its 11pm and I'm in my bed. I check my phone and its only now that I realise that one of Abby's, Connor's and Stephen's first in counters with a creature, was with a Gorgonopsid. Yay! These next few weeks will be fun! I think sarcastically to myself, before drifting into a peaceful sleep.
