Naruto's view

I ran to the bridge where we met up earlier today. Sakura, Kanji, and Sasuke/teme. Were all ready there, I groaned. I was late again! Teme looked at me and scowled before turning away. I growled at him but I turned around and tried to ignore him, then I stared at Sakura-chan <3 Sakura was just so, so, pretty and stuff! But she was kinda mean and scary, especially to me.. I sulked but jumped when Sakura yelled.

"Hey! Why is it that Kaka-sensei always tells us to meet him somewhere, but he's the one who never shows up! And we have to wait!" Sakura-chan yelled angrily with a anger mark popping out of her forehead.

I gulped, "that's right, dattebayo!" I yelled agreeing with Sakura-chan.

"what's he going to do about the feelings of a dear maiden who accidentally overslept and resigned herself to no blow-drying!?" Sakura-chan yelled and shook her fist.

I sweat dropped. Is that what girls only think about? How their hair looks?

"pft.. Stupid only cares about her hair. A shinobi should understand that it will only get in the way during a battle, this isn't a beauty pageant, this is the real world.." Kanji muttered under her breath.

Never mind... I guess Kanji has a different view, a totally different view than most girls.

"I overslept so, I haven't washed my face and didn't brush my teeth!" I shouted.

"y-you...your dirty.." Sakura-chan muttered sourly and backed away from me.

U-Uh.. I regret saying that now.

"that's just freaking gross..."Kanji breathed with her eye twitching.

I sulked, okay, now I regret saying that even more than before.

"Hey, good morning, folks! Today, I got a bit lost on the path of life.." Kaka-sensei greeted and apologized.

I looked up at him and just stared. Oh okay, that's a good excuse. Wait....

I twitched in annoyance, "Right! That's a lie!" Me and Sakura yelled in unison.

Kaka-sensei jumped down and faced us, "um..well.. This is sudden, but I recommended you guys for the Chunin Exam, so.. Here are your applications." Kaka-sensei explained and held out four pieces of paper.

All four of us stood next to each other and just stared at sensei.

"Chunin exams..?" Sakura muttered.

"That being said, the recommendations are not compulsory.You guys are free to decide whether you take the Exam or not." Sensei explained.

I grinned in joy, "yatta! I love you, Kaka-sensei!" I shouted and threw myself on him.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and grinned like crazy. Chunin Exams, Chunin Exams, Chunin Exams!

"Hey, cut it out. Get away already..." Kaka-sensei demanded and placed me back on the ground.

I grabbed one of the papers and looked at it.

"Only those who want to take the Exam, sign that application and come to room 301 of the academy at 3:00 p.m. five days from now. That's it." Kaka-sensei said.

"Chunin Exam! Chunin Exam! Chunin Exam!" I exclaimed in glee.

I'm defiantly taking this Exam!

"Wait, Kakashi.." Kanji said.

I gasped and looked at Kanji wide eyed. She hasn't called Kaka-sensei his real name since she went....kinda crazy. That was when we did the bell test thing, ever since then she's called him Otosan. What happened?

"Uh..yes Kanji?" Kaka-sensei asked while looking at Kanji warily.

Seems like i'm not the only one who's noticed... Sakura and Sasuke stared at Kanji waiting for what she was going to ask.

"I already know what the Chunin Exam is and what it's about. So I've noticed that we have a team of four, an isn't a team of three the limit?" Kanji pointed out.

Kaka-sensei's only eye widened, "Maa, yes that's true.. But I can get the Hokage to allow your team to enter the Exam with four people." Kaka-sensei added.

Kanji glared at sensei slightly. "tsk.. Fine, but if Lord Hokage doesn't happen to let that pass, I will be prepared to go alone.."

Kaka-sensei ad Kanji stared at each other, their gazes weren't wavering. I grew uncomfortable as seconds passed, but luckily Sakura-chan jumped in.

"W-Well we have to wait and see, right? So I guess were done here, come on Kanji." Sakura said and grabbed Kanji by the arm. "Oh, bye Kaka-sensei!" Sakura took their applications.

Sakura-chan dragged Kanji over to us and after we were away from sensei, she finally let her go. Sakura took a deep breath ans sighed while glancing at Kanji every now and then. I sighed what happened to Kanji..?

Chunin Exams, eh..? I bet lots of strong guys would be there. Like that guy! Hm...the one who looked like a cat. And this guy. I scowled and looked over at Sasuke.

(then Naruto thinks about how he'll beat them lalala.. skip to some action or something.-.)

Kanji's view

I glanced at Naruto who seemed to be thinking about the Exams. His expressions were changing every second, and some were not pretty.. I thought back to my short conversation with Oto- Kakashi... Everything I said was true, the Exam only allowed teams of three, not four like our team. I was pretty much saying that I would volunteer and be the one who might have to be a team by themselves. Sakura and Naruto need someone with skill to protect them, and that happens to be Sasuke.. I growled loudly and walked a little faster. Looking ahead I saw Naruto and Sasuke, but where was Sakura? I looked around and saw Sakura sulking not so far behind us.

"Sakura-chan...." I whispered.

I frowned at her posture, it showed that she didn't believe in herself, showed that she was weak. But she really wasn't. I care for Sakura, i'm being honest here. Yeah, we has our problems with each other but that doesn't matter. She was my teammate, my friend. She is strong I can tell by the way she punches, if she could just hit like that when she needed to and not just to hit poor Naruto. Then she'd be a great fighter in taijutsu mainly. The only thing we need to do, is stop her from always doubting herself. I walked over to her and poked her cheek. Sakura jumped and looked at me.

"Ugh, y-yes Kanji?" Sakura stuttered out nervously.

"Ne, Sakura-chan. Are you doubting yourself?" I asked, my gaze piercing her.

"N-NO! I wasn't, I was just thinking about how dangerous this Exam might be." Sakura blurted out.

I frowned and wiped all emotion from my face, "your lying..." I pointed out easily. (if you've watched 'Higurashi no Naku koro ni' imagine Mion or Rena when they say your lying)

Sakura gave me a questioning look. "I'm not! I swear!" She replied.

"Your lying!" I snarled angrily.

She jumped wide eyed and backed away from me.

"Your lying... Sakura-chan please stop doubting yourself so much, stop comparing yourself to Sasuke and Naruto. Your much different than them, I know it. Your smart, so use that brain of yours to come up with a plan when you or your comrades are in a bad situation. Your strong and I can get Naruto to prove it, that boy may have bruises from those monstrous punches you give him. All you need to do use that strength to your advantage! Such as by adding chakra to them and ending up with chakra enforced punches." I explained quickly. "Sakura.. All I want is for you to acknowledge yourself, please." I begged.

I left Sakura with her mouth wide open in shock. I smiled at her and shut her mouth with my finger.

"you'll catch flies like that-- Oomph!"

"A-Arigato Kanji..! You were right, I did doubt myself. but now I understand from what you told me, I'm going to do what you said by adding strength to my punches! Arigato Kanji" Sakura whispered in my neck.

I blushed at the sudden affection and laughed nervously.

"Hehe, it's not to much to thank about, just helping a friend out." I said and rubbed my neck.

She let go of me and giggled.

(idk if ive mentioned this but from now on Kanji will be wearing girl clothes like a normal girl, kay)

We walked into the academy and headed to room 301. Their was a big crowd surrounding the way to the door, a boy in a green jumpsuit flew back and held his cheek. I narrowed my eyes and pushed my way through the crowd.

"So, are you going to attempt taking the Chunin Exam with that skill?" A boy with spiky hair asked.

"May it'd be best if you runts quit." A boy who looked a lot like Izumo said.

"you're, green-assed brats after all." The first boy said.

My gaze stepped on the boy who looked like Izumo, he was like Izumo but a younger version of him.

"please let us through." A girl with buns pleaded.

She walked over to them only to get punched in the face. She fell back and landed next to the previous boy who was hit. I glared at the two boys in anger.

"That's mean.."

Whispers went around nonstop. I wanted to jump in and stop this nonsense, but I probably would end up making it worse.

"what'd you say? Listen! We're being nice to you! The chunin Exam is a high hurdle." The first boy said.

"many times have we seen people quit being a Shinobi as well as people who were disabled for life just because they took this Exam." Izumo look alike said.

"Also, a Chunin is at the level of a unit leader. Mission failures, death of subordinates, it's all part of the responsibilities of a Chunin."

"What's so bad about weeding out those who won't pass anyways?"

I groaned in annoyance. This explanation was taking to long, it was so boring! Sighing in boredom I looked around the room, I noticed something. The door number was under a genjutsu! I face palmed. Why didn't I notice this earlier.. I took a quick glance at Sasuke and he was staring at the number alos. Guess he noticed.

Sasuke had enough and walked forward. "A just argument. However, you will let me through. And could you also immediately undo this barrier created by genjutsu? I have business on the third floor?

"Well, well, so you noticed, eh?" The two boys said.

"how about it, Sakura? You should've been the first one to realize it." Sasuke pointed out while Sakura stared at him completely confused, "your analytical strength and Genjutsu know-how has improved the most in out squad"

I smiled, as Sakura bowed her head and thanked Sasuke. I'm surprised that idiot even helped her out, I thought he hated her for being 'useless' and 'weak'. Maybe, just maybe, this baka is going to come out of his shell and be kind.

"Of course. I realized it ages ago! You see, this is the second floor!" She shouted strongly.

I smirked and nodded. Naruto grinned and did the same.

"well, not bad... But all you've done is to catch on." The kid with the spiky hair said.

The kid spun around and aimed a kick at Sasuke, Sasuke did the same. I groaned and jumped in. I grabbed the kids leg tightly and put my foot in front of Sasuke's face to stop him from moving any further. I was in a weird position, one of my arms were holding me up while the other held this kids leg. My leg was in Sasuke's face while the other was on the ground. I glanced up at them from the corner of my eye and saw jumpsuit kid helping also. He let go of both their legs and took a deep breath, I saw Sasuke staring at him in disbelief. I sighed and jumped up and stretched.

"Hey, this isn't what you promised. You were the one who said you didn't want to carelessly attract attention and be watched.." A kid who looked blind stated.

Jump suit kid looked over to us, "but.."

I saw the girl from earlier also, she was shaking her head and mumbling under her breath. I shrugged it off and watched as Mr.jumpsuit walked over to Sakura-chan.

"My names Rock Lee. Your names Sakura, right..?" He asked.

Well, we seem to got a stalker here.. Oh no wait, Sasuke said her name before, oops.

"Huh?" was all that came out Sakura's mouth.

"Please go out with me! I'll protect you until I die!" Rock Lee grinned with a flushed face.

I backed away. Did he really just ask her out? Even when I think they just met? Hm, that's not weird at all. ACK! I'm kidding! That's REALLY weird!!

"Absolutely..not.." Sakura deadpanned.

"huh..?" Rock Lee asked, a gloomy aura surrounding him.

"your to..intense.." Sakura stated simply.

Rock Lee hung his head. I chuckled as did Naruto.

"Hey you there. Identify yourself." Blind kid demanded Sasuke.

Sasuke turned around, "When asking for someones name, give your own name first."

Blind kid ignored what Sasuke said and continued to talk. "you're... a rookie right? How old are you?" He demanded once more.

"I'm not obliged to answer." Sasuke stated and walked away.

Blind kid grew aggravated.

"Kanji! Are you coming!" Sakura asked.

"No, I'll meet you guys up there! I have some business to deal with!" I shouted back.

"Okay! See you upstairs!" She yelled.

After I heard her voice disappear I faced blind kid, the girl with buns, and Rock Lee.

I bowed down and looked at the ground, "I'm sorry for my teammates behavior, he's just a cocky little prick. As repayment I shall answer what you asked of him. His name is Sasuke, Sasuke Uchiha. A 13 year old rookie."

I stood up straight my gaze meeting the blind looking kids eyes.

"hm, Sasuke? And you, what is your name?" He asked raising an eyebrow,

I gave him a questioning look but nonetheless answered him. "Kanji, no surname. It's a pleasure to meet you three" I ended with a kind smile. "And may I know your name?"

He grunted, "Neji Hyuga." He said.

I nodded and faced the girl whose name I still did not know.

She stepped forward with a kind smile plastered on her face, she was very pretty. "My names Tenten, no surname just like you."

I smiled back, I finally faced Rock Lee.

"Your names Rock Lee right? And you know my name now. So we know each other now, but I thought I should give you some..advice." I whispered.

"Advice? What kind of advice do you have to share?" He asked quickly.

I smirked, "Advice that will help you get Sakura." He grinned and shook me back and forth saying 'tell me' over and ove again. "Okay, okay just stop shaking me please! *and he did* So, um, well if you want Sakura impress her with your strength and such. Also, I recommend giving her flowers or anything that matches the color of her hair or eyes, kay?" I explained.

Rock Lee nodded and fist pumped, he had fire in his eyes and tears of joy. I sweat dropped.

I chuckled, "anyways I'll be going. It was nice meeting you guys! Good luck on the Exam!" I shouted and ran off.

Hm, well wasn't that fun. Now, I just need to get back to my team. I ran up the stairs but couldn't shake off the feeling someone was watching me. I shook my head and continued running.

Izumo's view

I watched as Kanji talked to Gai's team and gave the Rock Lee kid some advice. I couldn't help but chuckle at their conversation, it was just to amusing. I blinked and before I knew it Kanji was running off probably to her team. I stared at her till she disappeared beyond the stairs. I frowned and turned around only to meet Kotetsu's face. I jumped back startled.

"AH! Kotetsu! What the heck man!" I gasped.

He didn't react to my yelling, he just stared at me with a devious smirk. I gulped and fidgeted.

"I saw you watching Kanji, were you checking her out, were you? Did she change? Do you have something for her?" Kotetsu asked rapidly.

I blushed when Kotetsu mentioned if I had a thing for her, which I did. And I think that just happened to give away my little secret.

Kotetsu gasped, "Man, you do have a thing for her don't you!!" He shouted pretty loudly.

I jumped at him and covered his mouth.

"Baka, be quiet!" I scolded, I took a deep breath and sighed. I guess I should tell him. "Okay, maybe I do have a.. 'thing' for her. Just don't tell anyone or else, alright?" I said.

Kotetsu nodded then grinned.

"It's about time you told me, but if I say so myself it was kinda of obvious you liked her. I mean you always ask about her, you stare at her, and man you even say her name in your sleep! Now that was creepy!" Kotetsu shuddered.

I chuckled and rubbed the back of my head nervously, okay I admit that I had some dreams about Kanji. Not any nasty ones, just friendly dreams!

"But don't worry, I won't tell anyone. What kind of friend would I be then?" Kotetsu smiled.

I grinned and punched his shoulder lightly, "thanks, your a good friend"

Kotetsu laughed, "Of course I am"
