In a hushed eerie voice, JuZi started. "That year, three Hu Ren kings unexpectedly held hands and started attacking the West of Great Long Dynasty. A prince and her sister princess led many great men to oppose them.

The battle took place for four days and four nights. The siblings' troops were outnumbered. For every soldier they had, there were four or five from the other side. They were on the losing side but their warriors were valiant."

Her voice was comparable to storytellers of tea houses. And even if he didn't want to hear any of it, Feng Yanyan was soon engrossed.

"They fought with all of their hearts. As the blood flowed endlessly, almost reaching the great river god, nymphs cried and spirits wailed. Alas!"

JuZi grabbed Beauty Feng all of a sudden and he almost screamed.

Fuck! Lady, you will kill me today...

"The older brother prince was impaled by a sword. And his younger sister princess had cuts and wounds all over. She still couldn't bear to see her beloved brother slowly lose the life out of him."

Feng Yanyan was crying inside. Mother, I don't want this maid anymore. JuZi seemed to grow fangs. She was obviously telling a sad story but the expression on her face was spine-chilling.

The maid inched closer and closer to Beauty Feng's ear. She whispered.

"And so... dragging her weak body to her brother, she bit him! Tore through his flesh and drank his blood. Even the enemy soldiers were horrified at the scene taking place. In their terror, they could only watch until only the bones remained."

Feng Yanyan's pupils shrank. How in the world did it end up like this? But of course, JuZi wouldn't stop now.

"Brother and I will defeat all of you! The little princess' voice seemed to have come from the hollowed pits of hell. She turned into a living monster with two heads, countless eyes and sharp teeth all over her body. The battlefield became a one-sided carnage. And only one person remained victorious."

The maidservant closed her eyes, as though she had fallen into slumber. Feng Yanyan finally caught his breath that he didn't even know he was holding.

But JuZi slowly opened her eyes again and her gaze rested on the delicate face in front of her.

Her ghastly voice was close to a murmur, as though afraid the walls had ears. "That person is known as the demon god of Suliang."

This last sentence left a ripple inside Feng Yanyan's mind and from one small rush, it began to surge and echo endlessly.

He was arrested by the thought. Demon God of Suliang. There was only one person. That was Wan Li Wang.

In the book he read, the prince wasn't called a demon. He was a hero that had his negative traits. In this world, he also knew of the rumors that Wan Li Wang killed both friend and foe in his— her first battle.

And she won.

Before he knew it, the room was bright again. Feng Yanyan hid the thoughts in his mind.

The truth was this world wasn't as simple as the book he read. He had been living here as long as he could remember. This year, he was 22. Thoughts of going back to Earth all but shattered long before. His roots were here and he truly believed he was a man of Feng family. It just so happened that he remembered a past that was different from everyone else.

It could be his fortune or the opposite of it. But he was determined to live the best life he could have.

Three maids watched Beauty Feng's reaction. Sure enough, if they scare him regularly, would it kill all thoughts of coveting Junwang?

They had been brainstorming all night to prevent another situation like last night from occurring. Even if they combined their minds, this was what they could think of for now.

A pale yet exquisite face was revealed under the rays of the sun that entered the room.

He still looked frightened by the little story time but his mind was turning.

Sure enough, he couldn't trust anyone in this palace. Yes, he was a bit slow in the brain department but that didn't mean he was retarded.

These maids went so far as to tell the story being told in teahouses. Wasn't it a warning for him not to make big moves on their big boss King Wan Li?

Feng Yanyan wanted to cry. Who wanted that scary king?! Yesterday was just an accident! He wanted to meet Junwang but instead stumbled into Wan Li Wang.

He never wanted that kind of outcome. But it looked like these people thought he was scheming for wangye? His heart was bitter.

Just recalling her face put fear in his heart. Her pale face and eerie black eyes could easily give him nightmares. He wouldn't dare covet something he couldn't.

And so, inside this unnamed courtyard, a strange misunderstanding started.

---

That afternoon, Feng Yanyan asked the maids to get tangerines. He was used to roaming free in the Great Palace as though he owned the place and it was difficult to change that habit.

These days, he was also getting restless staying put inside his courtyard. After that incident with Wan Li Wang, he hadn't gone out again.

Seeing him well-behaved, the three maids also didn't trouble him. When they heard that he wanted to accompany them in picking tangerines, they easily assented.

In actuality, Feng Yanyan didn't really pick the tangerines himself. He just sat on a stone bench and watched them pluck the round fruits one by one.

At this time, the little princess, Long Tang was passing by the tangerine grove to reach the library on the other side. She wanted to pick a few fruits for her young uncle.

Who would have thought that as she rounded the corner, she would be greeted by a fascinating sight. The tall and slender man leaned completely on the stone bench. Orange sunlight sprinkled over his luscious hair that was carelessly pulled back. His lids were half-closed, obviously bored and a little bit sleepy but his eyes were still following the movements of the maids plucking the fruits.

His plump lips were parted, looking unguarded. All over, his being exuded softness that would make your hands itchy to pinch and touch him.

The Junzhu was stunned silly. Surely, she had seen another person with immense grace and elegance. But that person was someone she couldn't stare at nor could she openly appreciate. Just the thought of looking at their eyes would make her legs weak from fear. Her adoptive mother.

But Beauty Feng was different. He was someone tangible to her. Someone she could hold and someone who wouldn't dare complain no matter what she did.

Long Tang's throat felt dry. She was young. Even if she didn't know what she wanted, it was an instinct to try and get her claws on this man. Junzhu had never been one to hold back after all.

The three maids were the first to notice Junzhu's presence. They stood straight and properly saluted.

Feng Yanyan was sluggish and half a step late but the palace discipline was imbued in his bones. His curtsy was still elegant.

"Beauty Feng is bored?" Long Tang asked with a smile.

Feng Yanyan felt his eyelid twitch for no reason. Ignoring it, he replied. "With how the wangfu provides for this one, how can Feng still be bored?"

"Then does the gentleman have anything to do this afternoon?"

Faced with those overly eager eyes, Feng Yanyan sensed something was wrong. He waved his hand and was about to say an excuse. But Junzhu was ahead of him.

She turned to the maids impatiently. "What is his itinerary for the day?"

The three bowed and glanced at each other. They were helpless about this. So they had to answer honestly. "Your highness, Beauty Feng isn't set to do anything today."

Aside from lazing and fooling around, he really didn't have any schedule.

Long Tang found this answer most pleasing. She didn't know that the way she laughed made her look like an evil gremlin in a certain someone's eyes.

"Then, come with me to the library. This princess needs someone to grind ink for me."

There was no room for a negative answer.

Feng Yanyan's gaze inevitably fell on the Junzhu's entourage. She had these less than ten people following her and she still wanted him to grind ink?!

Unruly! But he wasn't someone who could offend royalty. Although he was unreconciled, he nodded and followed along.

He also repeatedly blinked at the three maids, signaling that he didn't want to do this. But the trio knew how unreasonable Junzhu was. If they made an excuse for Feng Yanyan today, the princess would make an excuse to punish them tomorrow.

So they pretended to not understand what Feng Yanyan pleaded to them with his eyes.

Beauty was indeed a curse. It attracted all kinds of trouble.

They just wanted to pick fruits and now they had to deal with their headstrong Junzhu.

The two groups arrived at the library. From the princess' chattering, he came to know this place was renovated for the Junzhu and Junwang to have a place where they can both learn at the same time.

It seemed Junzhu was particularly close with her young uncle.

Feng Yanyan, however, knew the main reason for this.

From the way Long Tang's eyes glittered as she showed off about her "uncle", even without the knowledge of the plot, Feng Yanyan would be able to pinpoint an odd detail.

The adopted Junzhu seemed to harbor romantic feelings for her uncle.
