Part Three

"Hey, what are you saying?" Dr. Yamamoto protested sheepishly, placing both hands in the air. "All I'm trying to do is heal your friend there...come on..."

Crash!

Dr. Yamamoto froze when Meika's blade flashed across her, tearing a piece of fabric from her dress and smashing directly into the syringe in the doctor's hand. It shattered immediately, smashing against the wall and splattering green liquid everywhere.

"You're an idiot, you know," Meika said, slicing through the air again. The tip of the katana stabbed into the ground, where Dr. Yamamoto's foot had been seconds ago before she leapt back. "You didn't really think I'd let you get away with this, did you?"

"What are you saying?" Dr. Yamamoto narrowly dodged the spinning blade. "What are you talking about?"

"Don't screw with me!"

The silver blade stabbed straight into the wall behind her, and Dr. Yamamoto froze. Meika stared at her coldly.

"You Spirit Caster."

"Eh?" Kisaragi-sensei gasped. "What are you saying, Hoshimi-san?"

"I don't know what you're talking about..." Dr. Yamamoto stammered.

"Liar."

Meika said in a deadly tone. It was so sharp that everyone in the room stiffened and froze.

"This is just me thinking, but a doctor of all people should know that if you inject a body affected with a Spirit Cast with any kind of poison or antidote, that person will immediately die," Meika said. "And Eimi walked in on you attempting to do just that to Fuyubayashi-senpai."

Kyoko gasped. "No way! Shuu-niichan?"

"How do you even know it was a Spirit Cast?" Dr. Yamamoto asked. "Wasn't it a Paralysis Cast?"

"You thought that needle would throw us off, didn't you?" Meika sighed. "But I went back and investigated just now. There wasn't anything on that needle. It was a fake. And I would know--it's all over the web."

"But you can't always trust what you read on the Internet, right?" Minori stammered.

"Don't tell that to someone who's touched upon every single article available on the Internet."

"That's impossible!" Dr. Yamamoto insisted.

Fwip.

Dr. Yamamoto gulped at the blade placed directly at her throat.

"Do you want to try me?"

Meika's cold voice rang in the hospital room.

A moment of silence. Meika's grip hesitated slightly, but that tiny moment, Dr. Yamamoto's mouth turned upwards in a sneer and slammed her foot forward. Meika made a 'tch' sound and leaped backwards, barely missing it when Dr. Yamamoto's food stabbed straight into the ground, creating a small crater.

"Pretty impressive, newbie," Dr. Yamamoto laughed. "I didn't think you'd be able to figure me out that easily. But still, you can't stop me. It's too late."

"If I stop you, then those invaders coming tonight won't be going anywhere either, will they?" Meika confirmed, straightening.

"How did you--?!" Dr. Yamamoto stiffened in surprise.

"You're completely open!"

The silver blade flashed through the air again and stabbed into the ground, not only creating a deep trench but also ripping the whole wall behind it open as well. A strip of blond hair flew in the air as well, from where Dr. Yamamoto was barely able to dodge it.

"Oh, my that was close," she said unworriedly.

"I think I accidentally added a Flight Cast," Meika said carelessly, examining the silver katana she twirled in her hand. "But whatever. Oh also, if you're wondering, I wasn't aiming for you."

There was a flash in the distance, and suddenly a syringe filled with a lavender-shaded liquid flew through the air from the other room and into Meika's waiting hand.

Dr. Yamamoto gasped. "That's--"

"An antidote?" Meika shrugged. "I found it while I was looking for a way to make a flashy entrance. Sorry about the two holes in the ceiling."

"Kuh..." Dr. Yamamoto spat in a very unladylike way. "Hoshimi Meika...you're more interesting than I thought. Very well." She opened her lab jacket and pulled out a glinting black sword.

"Hey, Sensei," Meika tossed the antidote over her shoulder. "I don't have time for this. She got herself into this mess, so just inject that wherever."

"Hoshimi-san, please leave this to me," Minori said, stretching her hand out to summon her lance--

"No way," Meika pointed the blade at the snarling nurse. "I'm going to get revenge on Eimi's behalf."

"You little brat," Dr. Yamamoto brandished the sword in front of her. "I really do have to get rid of you after all!"
