Backstory: From an early age Mintcloud, then Mintkit, realized she didn't have a father, or at least didn't know him. She noticed that the older litter of kits in the nursery loved their dad and boasted about him, who happened to be the deputy. Being her curious kit self, she asked her mother but was shooed away, that she was saving that story for another time. Later on, when her mother thought Mintkit was asleep, her mother discussed what happened with a new mother in the nursery, who had lost the father of her kits and was panicking for her kits. Mintkit learned that her father wanted no part in his kits' life and didn't really care about them. She then told herself she'd never have a mate, then there would be no possibility of having kits whose father acted like hers. Though a lot changed when Mintcloud realized she was falling for Swiftstep, a reserved but handsome tom. She shook away those feelings, but when he approached her, Mintcloud couldn't resist. But the gray warrior held onto her fear of him leaving her if she had kits, so kits stayed out of the question... Until she was expecting them. Though unlike her parents tragedy, Swiftstep is loyal and is helping take care of their three kits, Fernkit, Berrykit and Birchkit.

Other: Was afraid of having a mate and kits from when she was 3 moons until she was 16 moons. Named one of her kits after her mother, who raised Mintcloud and her three siblings without their father in their life at all.
