A drop fell from the sky. Easy, slowly, sadly. My eyes followed its descent patiently. As it reached the earth, it splattered in a thousand pieces, reaching each any every dirty corner of the street. Silently, I watched as others attacked the cold hard ground, in an attempt to avenge their sibling. The result was no different. They all had the same fate. Destruction.

"Meg..."

A deep, low voice cloaked my ears. The word cobbed my hearing in a manner he did not expect, I bet.  His steps echoed through the rain that poured.

"Let's go home..."

My heart throbbed. For more than a second, my mind froze. His warm breath caressed my left ear, softly. His hand moved gently across my cheek, removing one of the cascading rivers.

"Please..."

The sun was crying.
