mexican standoff
"Sweetie? Can you suspend the Mexican standoff for a moment and answer the door?"
Cliff smiled at his wife.
"Of course, darling."
Peaches was looking out the window.
"Oh shit. Its that horrible little man."
"Peaches?"
"Sorry, Mommy, but he gives me the creeps. He is always staring at me."
Gwen looked at Cliff.
"I am sure your father will talk to him."
Cliff nodded.
"I will."
He turned to Colin.
"We will continue this shortly."
Colin shoved the gun in Cliff's chest.
"Where the fuck do you think you are going?"
"Doorbell."
Cliff pushed Colin's arm aside.
"Brb."
Peaches and Bonnie giggled.
"Cool, daddy," Peaches shrieked.
"He opened his eyes again," Arnold groaned.
"He looked right at me."
Gwen smiled.
"He must like you, Arnold."
Cliff returned to the living room with another man.
"Hello, Bobby," Gwen chirped.
Colin turned.
"You fucker."
He lunged at Bobby and hit him in the head with the gun.
Colin stepped aside, as the two men wrestled to the floor, the pistol flying of Colin's hand and landing near Cliff's feet.
"Oh do something with that vile thing," Gwen asked her husband, pointing to the pistol.
Colin picked up the pistol and turned to Gwen.
When he turned back, the pistol was gone.
Peaches had moved over close to Nick and now was holding his arm and staring at him.
Nick blushed.
"OMG," Bonnie shrieked.
"He is so cute."
She snapped several pictures of the couple.
Peaches hugged into Nick's arm.
"Mommy you have to let me."
Gwen smiled.
"We will see, baby."
She looked at her husband and pointed at the two men, still wrestling on the floor.
"Do something, before they damage each other."
Cliff grabbed Bobby by the back of his jacket and lifted him to his feet.
"Enough."
He looked down at Colin.
"Get up. My wife grows tired of your horseplay."
Colin quickly got to his feet and started looking around.
"There will be no more weapons tonight," Cliff informed him, knowing full well that he was looking for the pistol.
Colin glared at Bobby.
"What the fuck have you gotten us into?"
Bobby wiped the side of his head, smiling.
"You wanted a big score and I put you on to it."
Colin looked around the room.
"These people are insane."
Bobby nodded.
"Thats what I thought when I first came here.
But now."
He shrugged.
"I perform a service for them and they pay me well."
He turned and looked at Peaches. He winked.
Peaches pulled on Nick's arm.
"Did you see that? He winked at me."
Nick looked down at the beautiful teenager. He suddenly seemed very calm, with the teenager holding him.
"What do you want me to do?"
"Punch him," Peaches snapped.
Bobby laughed.
"Just try ..."
He never finished the thought, as Nick punched him viciously in the face.
He fell to the floor hard.
"Peaches doesn't like you flirting with her, you piece of shit."
Nick kicked him.
Peaches jumped up and down, clapping her hands.
"Did you see that mommy?"
Gwen smiled.
"Indeed I did. I am impressed, Nick."
"I apologize for the vile language, Gwen, but he insulted Peaches."
"No need to," Gwen sighed.
"The little fucker deserved it."
Bobby got up, wiping blood from his lip.
"This is not over, you little shit."
Cliff nodded.
"Yes it is, Bobby."
"That little prick punched me."
"He opened his eyes again," Arnold cried.
"This time he smiled at me."
"Then he does like you, Arnold," Gwen reassured him.
Bobby looked at Colin.
"You shoot Stanley?"
Colin nodded.
"He had the shotgun and wouldn't put it down."
Bobby nodded, laughing.
"I did the same thing. Shotgun blast right to the stomach."
Colin was shaking his head.
"What are you talking about?"
"When I robbed this place or should I say, when I attempted to rob this place, I had an incident with Stanley as well.
Blasted him right in the stomach. Fuck near tore him in half."
"You're joking, right?"
Bobby shook his head.
"I can assure you that there is nothing wrong with Stanley.
He is probably sleeping."
Stanley jumped to his feet.
Arnold screamed.
"How can anyone sleep around here?" Stanley announced.
Gwen pointed to Stanley's sleep pants and t-shirt.
"Throw those in the garbage, sweetie and take a shower."
Stanley looked down at the blood stained clothes.
"Wow. That was a lot."
"Yes," Bonnie quipped.
"And we had to clean up."
Stanley laughed.
"You two?
Cleaning?"
Bonnie put her hands on her hips.
"Yes. You wanna make something of it?"
Stanley laughed and kissed his cousin on the cheek.
"No."
He went to his mother and kissed her.
"Night, mommy."
"Night sweetie."
Stanley bounded out of the room and up the stairs.
Arnold was moaning.
Gwen looked at Cliff.
"We have to do something about poor Arnold."
Cliff nodded and turned to Bobby.
"Arnold has a wife and child."
Bobby shrugged.
"What difference does that make?"
"We specifically told you ...
no men or women with families."
"How the fuck was I supposed to know?
I didn't bring him into this."
He pointed at Colin.
"That was his doing."
"Did you tell him, no family men or women?"
Bobby shook his head.
"No. Why would I?"
"Because we gave you very specific instructions, Bobby," Gwen reminded him.
"How was I supposed to remember all of that?
That was like months ago.
Have I not done my part in all of this?"
Gwen nodded.
"Indeed you have, Bobby."
"Then I will take my money and be on my way."
"I don't know if I like your attitude, Bobby," Gwen snapped, as she stood up.
"You think this is a game?"
Bobby laughed.
"What the fuck else is it?"
Gwen shook her head, looking at Cliff.
"I think it is time to end our partnership with Mr. Young."
Cliff agreed.
"I believe you are right."
Bobby shrugged.
"Whatever. Just give me my money and I will be out of here."
"Money?" Gwen laughed.
"For what?"
Bobby started to feel a little uncomfortable.
"We had a deal. Twenty-five grand for each person I sent to you."
He looked around.
"I see three people here. That's seventy-five grand.
Just pay me and I'm out of here."
"You set this all up?" Colin roared.
Bobby laughed.
"Wasn't much to set up, Colin. If you remember right, you practically begged me to let you in on this score."
"You said it was an easy score."
"If it was so fucking easy," Bobby snapped, "then why the fuck do you think I told you about it. I would have just come back myself."
Colin was realizing he had been set up, even if the whole picture was not clear.
"You prick."
"Sticks and stones, Colin."
He turned to Cliff, his hand out.
"My money?"
Cliff smiled.
"You have become a little too arrogant for my liking, Bobby."
"Whatever.
Just pay me the seventy-five grand."
Cliff shook his head.
"We can't pay you for Arnold."
"Fine," Bobby snapped.
"I will be just as happy with fifty."
Gwen walked up next to her husband.
"It seems that Peaches has taken a liking to young Nick there, so he is out of the question."
Peaches screamed.
"So I can keep him, mommy?"
Gwen nodded.
"But you have to take better care of him than you did with poor Nelson."
"I promise, mommy."
"Then go on. Off with the two of you."
Peaches kissed Nick on the lips, long and hard. He seemed to be in a trance, just standing there.
"Come on," Peaches quipped, pulling him along.
"Night everyone."
"Night sweetie," Cliff smiled, as the two headed off, up the stairs to the upper floor.
"She seems happy," Gwen sighed.
"She does," Cliff agreed.
"Young love."
He kissed his wife gently on the lips.
Bobby pushed Cliff in the arm.
"My money."
Cliff slowly turned.
