Social Platforms: Racism/Favoritism
Alright, welcome back guys and guys with no dicks, so I was just watching a video from a very big YouTuber named CoryxKenshin. Everyone knows who he is, some trolls wish they didn't.
Like I said, he's a big YouTuber with 15 million subscribers, he's done YouTube for over a decade and he's the real deal, but Cory had been the target by YouTube. Yes, that's right you heard me. He might be a big YouTuber, but he's been calling out the platform for unfairness.
And it's not just CoryxKension, it's Tra Rags, InTheClutchEnt, and many others I can count. They're all black creators who do YouTube as well and they've been scrutinized for so long and they haven't been treated as equals in YouTube's eyes.
They've been getting strikes for either copyright or community guidelines. Whether it's a video they react to or it's games that they play and put it on YouTube for everyone to see.
Not to mention that YouTube have all the favorites and try to make YouTube Black, where the platform decided to give them the "spotlight".
Cory in his video isn't lying: YouTube Black is just the same as Black History Month, which takes place in February, and Pride Month, in my birth month of June no less, and it's all a facade of trying to create diversity when, spoiler alert, it's all patronizing so condescending!
Listen, I'm all about giving people the spotlight, but when you think about it, it's patronizing and condescending towards the black community when YouTube claimed to be all about diversity. I mean, this is hypocritical 101 here. I'm not black, but I know that everyone should have the spotlight regardless of race and lifestyle.
I'm a subscriber to ITC and they haven't been able to post many videos because of YouTube giving them strikes for no reason, especially when they're about to hit 9 million subscribers by now.
They've been doing YouTube since 2015 or 2016 for all I give a fuck and from what I know, the never got their 100,000 subscribers plaque because of all the unnecessary strikes they've been getting.
It's not right. It's like Bill Cosby being a bartender, there's just no role for those strikes to play here, especially when they started getting numbers and all that jazz.
YouTube is fucked up, and I wish I couldn't not say the same for TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, or any other platform you can think of.
This is why I refused to have an account on those platforms. They play the favoritism and racism game towards any other race and only white people get the spotlight when there are others trying to get some followers as well.
I hate that. I mean, it's like Biden trying to order at a fast food place: it doesn't sound normal like it should be. Like it shouldn't be this hard to include every race, gender, sexuality, or gender. It should include EVERYTHING.
There are a trillion different people on this planet and there should be fairness towards all of them. I mean, I could be wrong, especially on wattpad. Wattpad is doing the same thing and if you want an idea on how it is, here's what I mean:
Every book, except the Squid Game fanfics, is what I see every time I come onto the app. It's one of the most annoying things because all I get when I get on here.
Whether it's K-Pop, meaning BTS, or whatever it is, those books are always on there because they're the favorites and the app don't feature black authors in any way, especially when they reject the idea of featuring them.
Look at it this way, I'm not vouching for black authors, but there should be some kind of fairness involved and give the authors some kind of acknowledgment and some sort of explanation to why new readers on the app should care.
Instagram has been doing this as well, including TikTok. I don't have TikTok, but a couple people I know do have TikTok and, spoiler alert, it's ran by China.
I don't want to be seen as a hypocrite and I'm not trying to be, but why is everyone of every race and lifestyle heavily scrutinized and affected by Social Media's censorship?
Why does everything have to be about favoritism? I never understood that! Like, if I was a different race and I had no notifications or anything like that in particular, I'd slit my own wrists and hope to die because it's the platform and not me.
You know what? I think I'm gonna wrap it here because it's better if you saw this video and give Cory a follow and subscribe to his channel if you haven't already.
Also, what are your thoughts on this? Let me know and here's the video Cory had posted on his YouTube account:
[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]
