The first mission
Chapter #1: The first mission
In year 3377, Jonathan Archin was given training by his father. However he passed away from illness, Jonathan Archin honored his father 's Legacy amongside his sisters and brothers.
Jonathan Archin was inside the bridge of a star-class warship hitting to a planet to start the first mission.
Jonathan Archin: (to the Crew) This ship is really holding up. It is one of my father's... He gave it to me..
As Jonathan Archin looked out of the window of the bridge of the starship warship class heading towards the planet.
Jonathan Archin: (to the Crew) any idea what exactly our mission object is on that planet...??
Castle, the person who's willing to give briefings on the mission walkinto the bridge.
Castle: The Capellans have made a rather bold offer for us to switch sides in the conflict on Styk. Actual mission objectives are need-to-know. The pay is high, but you can be sure this mission is on the less-than-legal side of the line.
Jonathan Archin: (to Castle) of course you would say something like that...
As Jonathan Archin got out of that chair left and left the bridge heading to Mech hanger bay, where many of the dropships dropping off mechs were ready.
Johnson saw his childhood crush also known as Rosy Rose or Ruby the incredible engineering and maintenance for mechs
Jonathan Archin stepped into the mech hangar bay, the metallic sounds of machinery and the rhythmic thrumming of engines filling the air. His heart raced as he approached the towering BattleMechs, the pride and might of their metal frames shining under the bright lights. He felt a mix of excitement and apprehension about the mission ahead, and the presence of his childhood crush, Rosy Rose—known to him as Ruby—only added to the whirlwind of emotions.
Jonathan: (smiling) Hey, Ruby! Looks like the mechs are all ready for some action.
Rosy: (turning around, her eyes sparkling) Jonathan! You're here! I just finished the final checks on the Warhammer. She's in top shape and ready to go!
Jonathan: (grinning) I appreciate that. You always know how to keep my mech in fighting condition.
Rosy: (playfully) Well, someone has to keep you out of trouble. Besides, I wouldn't want anything to happen to my favorite Commander.
He felt a warm flush at her words, but he quickly pushed it aside, focusing on the mission. The tension in the air was palpable, and he knew they needed to concentrate.
Jonathan: (seriously) Have you heard anything about what we'll be up against on Styk? Castle mentioned something about a risky operation.
Rosy: (nodding) I overheard some of the techs talking. Apparently, the Capellans are up to something big, and they want us to help them disrupt a supply line. It could be dangerous, especially if we're caught.
Jonathan: (sighing) I knew it wouldn't be straightforward. But we'll do what we have to. This mission could change the tide for our faction.
Rosy: (placing a hand on his shoulder) Just remember, Jonathan, we're a team. We'll watch each other's backs out there.
Jonathan: (nodding) Right. Together, we can face anything.
As they spoke, the hangar doors opened, and the sound of the dropship landing echoed through the bay. The crew began unloading the BattleMechs, preparing them for deployment.
Jonathan Archin: All right, let's begin the mission!!
As the dropship's engines roared to life, Jonathan Archin and Rosy Rose strapped themselves into their seats, the familiar hum of the machinery vibrating through their bodies. The atmosphere in the dropship was a mix of excitement and tension, every crew member aware of the stakes involved.
Jonathan: (glancing at the control panel) We're all set for launch, Ruby. How's the Warhammer's systems looking?
Rosy: (checking her screens) Everything's green across the board. She's ready to take on whatever the Capellans throw at us.
Jonathan: (with determination) Good. Let's make sure we give them a reason to remember us.
The dropship's doors slid open, revealing the darkening sky above the planet Styk. The landscape below was a patchwork of rugged mountains, thick forests, and industrial complexes—a stark contrast to the peaceful stars they had just departed from.
Castle's voice crackled over the comms, breaking Jonathan's focus.
Castle: (calmly) Alright, team. We're entering the atmosphere. Prepare for turbulence, and remember your objectives—disrupt the supply lines and gather intel on enemy movements. We're counting on you.
Jonathan and Rosy exchanged a glance, both feeling the weight of responsibility settle on their shoulders.
As the dropship makes it to a perfect landing opening the doors dropping off Jonathan Archin piloting Warhammer Heavy BattleMech and Rosy Rose piloting BattleMaster Assault BattleMech for both battlemach to land on the ground with a hard tump.
Jonathan Archin and Rosy Rose as they stepped out onto the rugged terrain of Styk. The air was thick with tension, and the sounds of distant machinery and the chatter of enemy troops filled the atmosphere. Jonathan felt the adrenaline coursing through him, heightening his senses as he took in their surroundings.
Jonathan: (looking around) This is it. Stay sharp, Ruby. We need to secure our position before the Capellans realize we're here.
Rosy: (nodding, her eyes scanning the area) Agreed. Let's keep low and stick to the cover of those rocks over there.
Jonathan moved his Warhammer with precision, the heavy mech moving with a fluid grace as he followed Rosy's lead.
Jonathan: Our mission objectives are search and destroy on three separate targets. I will upload Nav Points and Target ID as mission progresses. Only designated Targets need to be eliminated. All other enemies may be avoided at your discretion.
Rosy: I get it. Take out the competition before they can get on the same page.
As Jonathan and Rosy navigated through the rocky terrain, the rugged landscape of Styk unfolded before them. Thick forests loomed on either side, while industrial complexes dotted the horizon. The distant sounds of machinery and the hum of enemy activity heightened their senses, reminding them of the gravity of their mission.
Jonathan: (focused) We should move quickly and quietly. The last thing we want is to alert the Capellans to our presence.
Rosy: (monitoring her sensors) I'm picking up movement up ahead. Looks like a small patrol. We can either engage or bypass them.
Jonathan paused for a moment, considering their options. The Warhammer's sensors were picking up several enemy units moving in a tight formation.
Jonathan: (decisively) Let's observe for a moment. We need to gather intel first. If we can determine their routine, we might find a way to disrupt their supply line without drawing too much attention.
Rosy: (nodding) Good call. I'll keep an eye on their movements.
The two MechWarriors positioned themselves behind a large rock formation, allowing them to observe the patrol without being seen. Through the cockpit's viewport, Jonathan could see a trio of Capellan Mechs, each one armed and moving methodically.
Jonathan: (whispering) Those are Sentinels. They look like they're on high alert.
Rosy: (analyzing) If we take them out quietly, we can maintain the element of surprise.
Jonathan considered this for a moment. His instincts told him that a stealthy approach was the best option, but the adrenaline of battle was tempting.
Jonathan: (determined) Alright, let's do it. You take the one on the right. I'll take the left. We'll hit them simultaneously.
Rosy: (with a grin) Sounds like a plan!
As the patrol moved closer, the two MechWarriors prepared for their ambush. Jonathan's heart raced as he focused on the target. He could feel the power of the Warhammer beneath him, a trusted companion in the heat of battle.
Jonathan: (over the comms) On my mark... three... two... one... now!
With that, both Jonathan and Rosy surged forward, their BattleMechs erupting from behind the rocks. The element of surprise was on their side as they charged toward the startled Capellan patrol.
Jonathan: (shouting) Target locked!
He fired his large laser at the Sentinel on the left, the beam cutting through the air and striking the mech's shoulder, causing it to stumble.
Rosy: (engaging) You're not getting away that easily!
She fired her BattleMaster's autocannons, unleashing a barrage of rounds that found their mark on the right Sentinel. The mech crumpled under the assault, smoke and sparks flying as it fell.
The remaining Sentinel, now fully aware of the ambush, turned its weapons toward Jonathan and Rosy, but it was too late.
Jonathan: (shouting) Let's finish this!
With a swift maneuver, Jonathan closed the distance, using the Warhammer's superior armor to absorb the incoming fire. He swung the mech's arm, delivering a powerful punch that sent the Sentinel crashing to the ground.
Rosy: (smirking) Nice work, Commander!
Jonathan: (grinning) Thanks! Now let's check their systems for intel.
As the dust settled, Jonathan and Rosy approached the downed Sentinels, scanning for data that could provide valuable information about the Capellan supply lines.
Jonathan: (examining the controls) I'll see what I can pull from their systems.
Rosy: I'll keep watch. We don't want any surprises.
As Jonathan accessed the Sentinel's data banks, he found maps and intel about the Capellan supply routes, confirming their initial suspicions about the enemy's operations on Styk.
Jonathan: (grinning) This is gold! We've got the locations of their supply depots and troop movements. This will help us coordinate our next steps.
Rosy: (excitedly) Great! Now let's move before they send reinforcements.
Jonathan: (nodding) Right. We need to get this intel back to the dropship.
Just as they were about to leave, Jonathan's sensors began to beep, alerting him to incoming contacts.
Jonathan: (eyes widening) We've got incoming mechs! Looks like they've already sent out a distress signal.
Rosy: (urgently) We need to move now!
Jonathan quickly uploaded the intel to his Warhammer's systems, preparing for a potential fight.
Jonathan: (determined) We'll have to hold them off long enough to get the intel back. Let's find a better position.
The two BattleMechs moved swiftly, taking cover behind the nearest rock formation as they prepared for the approaching enemy forces. Jonathan's heart raced with the thrill of battle and the weight of responsibility.
Jonathan: (clenching his fists) This is going to get messy.
Rosy: (gripping her controls) Just remember, we've got each other's backs.
As the shadows of the approaching mechs loomed closer, Jonathan and Rosy steadied themselves, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. The mission had only just begun, and they were determined to fight for their faction's freedom and uphold the legacy of Jonathan's father.
