Coming Out {3}
“Momma Blake!” Gav said happily. “Your cooking smells amazing!”
“Hello Gavin. Hi Gage! I hope you boys are hungry,” my mom said with a friendly smile at us.
“Well, Gav and I made quesadillas, but we’re fat, so yea, we’re hungry,” I said, dropping into my usual seat at the dinner table in the dining room.
“Yea, yea!” Gav agreed eagerly, sitting next to me.
Gage sat on my other side, rolling his eyes at us. My mom set down pasta for us and we scooped it onto our plates, beginning to eat hungrily.
“You guys are so fat,” Gage said, watching me and Gav shovel food into our mouths.
“With my dick out is the only way I give a fuck!” we both said after swallowing our food down.
“Alright, whatever. After we’re done eating, what are we doing?” Gage asked.
“Well, we could go to the gas station like true hooligans,” I suggested with shrug.
“I’M IN!” Gav cried eagerly. Gage shrugged and nodded.
So after we had finished eating, we left my house and began to walk to the gas station nearby. We always went there to get energy drinks and hangout.
We went inside and over to the drink section. I scanned the energy drinks before shrugging and grabbing a regular green Monster.
“Hey, check it out. It’s the faggot.”
We all sighed and turned to face Collin and Alexander Radke, and Joshua Ferrell. They were homophobic pricks who always picked on Gage.
“Hey guys,” Gage said casually. He never let them get to him.
“Shrimp,” Collin said, shoving Gage.
“I. Am. Fun. Sized,” Gage growled in annoyance.
“You. Are. Pathetic,” Josh said with a grin.
“Nice comeback coming from a guy who tried to spike my cousin’s drink just to bang her,” Gage said, causing me and Gav to snicker as Josh blushed.
“Alright, goodbye. I’m bored,” Gage said, grabbing my arm and dragging me away from them. Gav followed after us.
We went to the register and checked out. We went outside and sat down on the sidewalk together, leaning up against the building and drinking.
“Gah, I hate those guys. They’re annoying as fuck,” Gage grumbled.
I shrugged. “I don’t know. Collin and Josh are bad, but Alex has never really picked on you. I think Collin threatens him into it when he does.”
Gage nodded. “Oh, definitely. I’m pretty sure Alex Radke is gay, and praise the lord if he is. I wouldn’t mind banging that sexy boy,” he said, grinning.
I rolled my eyes. “Jeez, you sure go for the quiet ones Gage. I don’t think I’ve heard Alex say more than three words,” I said.
“Who needs him to speak? I’ll just get him screaming,” Gage said, his grin getting wider.
“Lovely,” I said and sipped n my Monster.
“OH. MY. GOD. WE HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW,” Gav cried miserably.
“Did you just figure that out Gavin?” Gage asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
Gav shook his head and got a goofy grin on his face. “Nah, but I felt like joining the conversation,” he said brightly.
“Okay, we were talking about having sex with Alex Radke, and you joined in that conversation by announcing that we have school tomorrow?” Gage asked.
Gav nodded matter-of-factly. “Yea, yea! Alex goes to school, and we have school tomorrow. Therefore, my statement was relevant.”
I rolled my eyes and smacked Gav in the back of the head. He whined and swatted at me, a pout creeping onto his face.
“You are so mean to me Trav!” he whined.
“I’d like to be mean to him,” Gage mumbled, nodding at Alex as he walked out of the gas station with Collin and Josh.
“I’d like to be mean to Rose,” Gav said, grinning. Gage pouted and smacked him in the arm, rolling his eyes in annoyance.
I’d like to be mean to you, Gavin.
But I’m pretty sure if I said that, I would completely wreck our friendship.
Gav slung an arm around my shoulders and grinned at me. “Let’s go on the trampoline again. Please, please, please?” he begged, giving me puppy dog eyes.
“Maybe,” I said, flicking my hair dramatically. “If I feel like it.”
Gav began to shake me violently. “PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! TRAVIS PLEASE!” he begged desperately. “I WANNA GO BOUNCY, BOUNCY BOING!”
“YES! WE CAN GO ON THE FUCKING TRAMPOLINE!” Gage cried, slapping his hands over his ears. “My lord! Just shut up!”
We laughed and made our way back to my house, finishing up our drinks on the way. We crawled onto the trampoline after I had but my speakers on.
“DON’T MIND ME I’M JUST REACHING FOR YOUR NECKLACE. TALKING TO MY MOM ABOUT THIS LITTLE GIRL FROM TEXAS!” Gav and I screamed as we bounced around. Gage shook his head at us, but laughed a little.
Gav suddenly stopped and let out a whine as he grabbed at his crotch. “I have to peeeeee!” he cried, moving to get off of the trampoline.
Gage and I grinned at each other and grabbed Gav. We threw him down on the trampoline and began to bounce him.
“No!” Gav screamed. “STOP! I HAVE TO PEE! OHGODWHY.”
We laughed and let Gav up. He dove off of the trampoline and sprinted into my house. I sat down on the trampoline and let Gage bounce me.
“Hey Trav…” Gage started.
I glanced at him curiously. “What’s up Gage?”
“I’m going to ask you something, and I want an honest answer,” he said, glaring at me. I nodded in confusion.
“Do you like Gav?”
I froze and my blood chilled. How did Gage know that? Did he guess it? Was it obvious? Was he just screwing around with me?
“Of course I don’t like Gav! I’m not gay!” I lied, laughing.
Gage shrugged. “Just making sure. It’s a shame you’re not. I would bang you so hard, if you took it out, you’d move forward in time seven years.”
“Zelda pick up lines. You know the way to my heart Gage,” I said, winking at him. Honestly, I was just trying to change the subject.
Had he just been screwing with me? Or had he actually suspected that I liked Gav? Was I too obvious? I mean, Gav and I always joked around like we liked each other. Did I take it too far?
Gav chose that moment to come racing back out of the house. He dove onto the trampoline and grinned at me.
“I think I just lost a pound!” he announced joyfully.
“That is disturbing and disgusting,” I said, standing up.
Gav pouted. “Jeez, what’s shoved up your ass Trav?”
“Don’t look at me. I’m over here,” Gage said, raising his hands innocently.
I rolled my eyes at him and pulled Gav to his feet as well. He wrapped his arms around my neck and jumped into my arms. Sadly, being on the trampoline, that knocked me off balance and we fell down together.
Gav landed on top of me, his face centimeters from mine. He moved to get off of me, but the trampoline bounced us and he grinded against me on accident.
“Holy shit I envy this situation,” Gage said, watching us but making no move to help us up. Stupid perverted gay boy!
“Oops. Sorry Trav!” Gav said, his minty breath blowing in my face.
Alright Travis, calm down. Yes, the boy you had been crushing on for forever was lying on top of you. Yes, his breath smelled amazing. Yes, his lips were right near yours. Yes, he had accidentally grinded on you. Yes, his body on yours was comforting.
No, there was no reason to be excited.
“Gav! Get off me!” I forced myself to whine.
But I never wanted to be out of this position. I never wanted him to get off of me. Still, Gage was obviously suspicious of my sexuality already. And Gavin’s comfortable weight on me was driving me crazy.
“Sorry! Sorry!” Gav said and managed to scramble off of me.
He got up and pulled me up, giving me an apologetic smile. “I forgot trampolines bounce people.”
“You’re an idiot,” I said, face palming myself.
He smiled brightly and began to bounce around. I didn’t look at Gage, afraid I would see a knowing look in his eyes.
I had to be more careful with the way I acted around Gav. I couldn’t be obvious. Gav could never know I liked him. As much as the thought crushed me inside, I knew that we could only ever be friends.
