Coming Out {17}

                                                                                ***Travis’s POV***

“I’m telling you, they should just kill Carl! He’s an annoying little bitch who thinks he’s tough,” Gage said, crossing his arms and glaring at Gav.

“So basically you’re saying that you’re Carl?” Gav asked.

“I’M GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS!” Gage yelled in annoyance.

I grabbed him as he moved to jump on Gav. I let out a sigh as Gage struggled in my arms, letting out a whine as I lifted him over my shoulder and carried him.

“Stop arguing about The Walking Dead. They won’t kill Carl. He’s Rick’s motivation to keep fighting. Personally, I’m fine with everything as long as Daryl stays alive,” I said, setting Gage down as he began to punch me in the back.

He made sure he was balance before glaring up at me. “Next time you pick me up I’m going to rip your arms off and beat you to death with them!” he snapped.

“You’re an angry elf,” I said with a frown.

“Don’t you go all Elf on me you ass!” Gage snarled before beginning to walk again.

I looked around and frowned deeply to myself. I hadn’t seen Alex all day, and he wasn’t replying to my texts. I hoped he was okay.

“Hey, are you okay Trav?” Gav asked, stepping up next to me and giving me a curious look.

I shrugged and nodded. “Yea, I’m just a little worried. I haven’t seen or heard from Alex at all today,” I said.

“Aw, well maybe he’s just running late to class. And maybe his phone just died or something,” Gav said with a bright smile. He playfully punched my shoulder. “Cheer up!”

“Where’s Rose?” I asked, changing the subject on him.

“She had a chorus lesson,” he said. He got a wide smile on his face. “I bet she had a beautiful singing voice. I’d love to hear it sometime.”

“Yea,” I mumbled, looking around for Alex. I wanted to get away from Gav before he started gushing over Rose again.

“Yea, yea! There’s Alex!” Gav cried, pointing as Alex, Collin, and Josh entered the gym. I smiled a little as I watched the three walk up to the track together.

Alex spotted me and began to move towards me. Collin grabbed his hand and yanked him back, shooting him a stern look. Alex glanced at me apologetically before hanging his head.

“Jeez, what an ass,” Gage said, making me jump. I hadn’t seen him step up next to me. “He acts like Alex is his slave or something. The kid can hang out with whoever he wants to. Collin isn’t the boss of him.”

“I wonder why they’re so close. Don’t most brothers fight all the time?” Gav asked curiously.

“We’re all only children here dumbass. How are we supposed to know?” Gage asked in annoyance.

“You are so mean to me,” Gav said with a pout.

“I wouldn’t have to be so mean to you if you weren’t so stupid!” Gage said, glaring at Gav.

“Easy killers. I’m sure there’s some reason they’re so close,” I said with a shrug, dragging Gav away from Gage before Gage hit him.

“Yea, yea! Maybe they have some twincest going on!” Gav cried in excitement.

“They’re not twins you dimwit. Collin is four years older than Alex,” Gage said, clearly impatient with Gav.

I pat Gav on the head as he pouted deeply. “You can’t prove that! They could be fraternal. Do you have their birth certificates?! No? DIDN’T THINK SO ASSHOLE.”

Gage and I shook our heads at Gav. That freaking weirdo.

“Well, whatever. Let Trav go for his younger men,” Gage said, elbowing me in the side and winking at me playfully.

                “He’s 14 and I’m 17. It’s not that bad!” I whined.

“Sure Trav. Whatever helps you sleep at night,” Gav said, slapping me on the back. “You little cougar you!”

“You guys are so mean to me!” I said miserably.

                “Trav?”

“AND SO ARE YOU SHIT STOP SCARING ME!” I shrieked in terror, jumping away from Alex.

He blushed and gave me an innocent smile. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to surprise you,” he said softly.

“What’s up kid. I thought your brother was keeping you on a short leash?” Gage asked.

I sighed in annoyance and smacked him in the back of the head. He glared at me and I shot him a look that told him to stop being such an asshole to Alex.

“Ignore Gage,” I said. “What’s up?”

“Uh…I just wanted to…uh, walk with you I guess. If that’s okay,” he mumbled.

“Yea, of course that’s okay,” I said with a bright smile.

“No, it’s not okay,” Collin snapped, storming over to us. He grabbed Alex’s hand and glared at me in disgust. “How many times do I have to tell you to stay away from my brother? Are you deaf or something faggot?”

“No, Collin, I came over to him,” Alex said, panic in his eyes. “Don’t get mad at Trav! Please!”

Collin released Alex’s hand and passed the younger boy over to Josh. “Take him away so that Trav and I can have a nice little chat,” Collin snarled.

“Collin stop! Please don’t do anything mean to Trav! If you hurt him in any way…I won’t talk to you ever again!” Alex threatened, looking highly upset.

Collin stared at him in hurt. He shook it off and a hard look reentered his eyes. “Take him somewhere else Josh,” he growled.

Josh dragged Alex out of our sights and Collin spun around, gripping my shirt tightly. He stared at me with hate in his eyes and I gulped nervously.

“See what you’re doing faggot? Alex is mine, not yours! If he doesn’t have me, he doesn’t have anyone. I’m the only one that gives a shit about him. You? You’re just interested in him. You’d ditch him eventually. But that’s not going to happen. Because my baby brother isn’t a faggot like you and that shrimp over there,” he snarled, jerking his thumb at Gage.

“Hehe, Collin called you a shrimp,” Gav said, snickering at Gage.

“You tall assholes can all go die,” Gage grumbled.

Gee guys. Thanks for being concerned about the, oh, I don’t know, VIOLENT HOMOPHOBIC BULLY HOLDING ME AND THREATENING ME.

                Yea, friends of the year.

“If Alex is gay, beating me up won’t change that. You can’t control him and the things he does,” I said, trying to draw out every bit of courage I had. But I swear to god, if Collin hit me, I would piss my pants.

“Al’s not gay. He’s not like you,” Collin snapped. “I know my brother better than anyone else could ever hope to. He’s not gay. He’s just confused right now, and I’m going to set him straight!”

Collin clenched his fist tightly and pulled it back. He glared at me. “I’ll break your face. Maybe then you’ll finally listen to me when I tell you to stay away from Alex,” he hissed.

“But if you hurt Trav, then Alex won’t talk to you, remember? So you can break Trav’s face, but all you’ll be doing is robbing the world of an attractive boy and ruining your close relationship with your brother,” Gage said calmly.

OH THANK GOD GAGE WAS SUCH AN ASSHOLE. I KNEW I LOVED HIM FOR A REASON.

“The tag on my shirt this morning said ‘I love you’. It’s a sign that we should all love each other and just live happily ever after,” Gav said matter-of-factly.

“Gav, stop talking,” Gage said in annoyance.

“Can do!” Gav said with a goofy grin.

Collin threw me to the ground roughly and glared at me. “I mean it faggot. Stay away from Alex, or you’ll regret it. He’s not a faggot like you,” he said furiously before storming away to go find Alex and Josh.

“Well that was exciting,” Gav said, pulling me to my feet. “That boy has some serious insecurities.”

“What do you mean?” Gage asked.

“Isn’t it obvious? Collin is jealous that Alex likes Trav. Alex has no friends, so Collin is used to being the only one Alex relies on.” Gav shrugged.

“Wow. That was a pretty intelligent conclusion. I’m slightly impressed, and slightly suspicious. Are you really Gav?” Gage asked, eyeing him suspiciously.

Gav grinned and nodded. “Yessir I am! I just didn’t have any sugar today, so I’m calm.” He pouted. “I don’t like it. I ran out of Lucky Charms at home, and my lunch consisted of school pizza and white milk. I. NEED. SUGAR.”

“Right,” I said, rolling my eyes. He was such a spaz.

Afterschool, I made my way to my locker. I exchanged a few books before shutting my locker. I turned to go find my friends and jumped back in shock.

Alex frowned up at me. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to surprise you again,” he said shyly.

                “It’s okay. What’s up Alex?” I asked.

“I’m so sorry about Collin,” he whimpered. “I’ll have to talk with him. He just won’t accept it.”

“Hey, it’s okay Alex,” I said, giving him an encouraging smile. “Did you at least tell your parents?”

Alex shook his head. “No, not yet. My mom’s been working the double shift most nights, and she doesn’t get home until really late. But I know she’ll be okay with it.”

“So, Collin is your only problem, huh?” I asked with a sigh, not asking him about his dad. I didn’t even know if Alex and Collin had a father in their life. Or maybe he had died or something.

Alex nodded, twirling his hair around his finger. “But I’ll make sure he doesn’t hurt you! I’ll protect you! I promise!” he said fiercely, looking absolutely adorable.

DAWWW I COULD JUST PINCH MY LITTLE HERO’S CHEEKS!

I smiled at Alex and pulled him into a hug. He blushed before hugging me back. I released him and kissed his forehead gently.

“JUST KISS HIS LIPS ALREADY. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST TRAV. NO WONDER YOU’RE STILL A VIRGIN.”

I winced and glared at Gage as he watched us from a few feet away. He had an impatient look on his face. Not that he ever really had any other expression on his face.

“Either kiss him or get your ass over here before we miss the bus!” Gage snapped.

I sighed in annoyance. “Sorry about Alex. I’ll see you tomorrow,” I said, smiling at him and waving before walking over to Gage.

“Seriously Trav? If that were me, I would’ve stripped him and fucked him on the spot,” Gage said, shaking his head as we walked towards the buses together.

“Well that’s the difference between us, now isn’t it?” I asked, rolling my eyes. “I have more decency than to fuck in school, Mr. Librarian.”

“Hey, it’s was once in the library!” Gage grumbled. “And it was nice.” He grinned at the memory of it.

“You’re gross,” I said as Gav ran up to us and began to follow us towards the buses.

“Aw, you act like you’ve never done it before,” Gav said, jumping onto my back.

I carried him onto the bus and we sat down together, me in Gav’s lap and Gage next to us. “Because I haven’t,” I pointed out. “Virgin on the group, remember?”

“If you don’t want your virginity anymore, I’ll take it!” Gav offered eagerly.

“Too late, I already put the offer out there,” Gage said smugly, eyeing me with a hungry look.

“Gage! Trav is a friend, not food!” Gav said sternly, wrapping his arms around my waist. “And if anyone is going to break that rule and eat him, it’s going to be me!”

“Guys! Stop arguing over me! The only one who gets to eat me is Alex!” I said sternly. My eyes widened as I realized what I had just said, and I slapped my hands over my mouth.

“Called it!” Gage said, slapping me on the back. “Good for you champ. Just do it before you turn 18, otherwise it’s statutory rape.”

I groaned and smacked my head against the bus seat. I would not get dirty with Alex! He didn’t even seem like that kind of guy!

Still, I didn’t even know if I’d get the chance to be with Alex. If Collin got too angry, he could really hurt me. Or, he could convince Alex to stay away from me. I guess this whole relationship was resting in Alex’s hands now.
