Taehyung and Seokjin were the best childhood friends.

All the parents of the other students in their classes admired the pair. Whenever one was at a certain place, you'd know the other was there with them as well.

They were literally glued to each others side.

They were together so much that they expressed the same emotions when the other did.

When one of them was sad or hurt, the other was as well. When one was happy, the other was too. They didn't like seeing the other sad or upset, they'd cheer each other up whenever they felt this way.

Taehyung and Seokjin grew up together. Especially considering they were both only childs.

They met in their kindergarten class playground. They were the only kids who didn't have a friend. When they made eye contact, they waved at each other and smiled.

After that, they hanged out all the time.

They stayed friends over the years.

They were basically soulmates. Each other's other half.

They were always together, until one day.

During the summer, before they were about to enter high school, Seokjin got some bad news.

Seokjin's dad had gotten a job opportunity in Seoul, far from from their home in Daegu. Seokjin's dad knew this was a job opportunity he wasn't going to be able to pass up.

When Seokjin received the news, he ran up stairs to his room and broke down on his bed. He was going to leave his only friend. The friends that has been there for him his whole life. The only person who supported him when his parents couldn't. The only one who promised to never leave his side. But, he was the one who was going to break that promise.

Taehyung went to Seokjin's house that afternoon. He was worried since Jin hadn't gone to hangout with him all day.

"Hello Mrs.Kim. I was wondering where Jin is?", Tae asked when Mrs.Kim opened the door.

"Hello Taehyungie! Jin has been is his room all day... I think it's best if you try and talk to him." , Mrs.Kim said, smiling weakly.

She had already tried to talk to Jin, but every time she went to try, Jin would have the door locked and wouldn't let her enter. She knew how sad Jin was so she knew Taehyung was the only one who Jin would talk to.

Taehyung nodded and bowed respectfully to Mrs.Kim before going up the stairs to Jin's room.

Taehyung knocked on the door.

sniff "Go away eomma, I don't want to talk to anyone sniff,  please" Jin says in a low voice.

Taehyung bites his lip, his heart clenching at the pain evident in Jin's voice.

"Hey Jinnie...it's me, Tae" he says softly.

There's a silence.

"Jinnie?"

Taehyung hears footsteps coming towards the door. Slowly, the door creaks open, revealing a red, puffy eyed Seokjin.

Taehyung's heart wrenches at the sight of Seokjin being sad.

"T-Taehyungie.."

He stays there for a moment looking at him, before throwing his arms around him. He starts sobbing uncontrollably onto Taehyung's shoulder.

Taehyung hugs him back tightly, his heart breaking while listening to his best friend crying. He rubs on Jin's back comfortingly, trying to get him to calm down.

"Jinnie..want to talk about it?" he says softly.

Jin nods his head and pulls away. He grabs Taehyung's hand and they walk over to his bed, after closing the door.

They sit next to each other. Taehyung stares at Jin, waiting for him to speak. He rubs his thumb over Jin's hand.

"I-I got some bad news Tae..." Jin says, his voice shaky.

"My dad told me he got a new job offer in Seoul and uhm....we have to move Taehyung. We...We have to leave Daegu." Jin looks up at Tae, his eyes already filled with tears.

Taehyung's eyes get watery, tears instantly coming out of his eyes.

"Y-You mean you have to leave...forever? I-I won't be able to see you again?", he speaks, his voice stuttering.

"No Taehyungie, I promise I will come back. I can't live without you. I promise I will come back. I don't know when i'll be able to but, I will make sure I come back." Jin says reassuringly.

Seokjin stretches his hand and wipes away Taehyung's tears. He doesn't want to see him cry.

"You promise Jinnie?"

"Yes, Taehyungie. I promise"

Tae nods and pulls Jin closer, hugging him tightly. He hugs him, inhaling his sweet scent. Jin hugs him tightly, inhaling his musky scent.

They hug for what feels like..forever.

An hour later, they are now laying down on the bed, with Seokjin's head on Taehyung's chest and Taehyung's arm around Seokjin's waist.

"Hey Jinnie?"

Jin hums in response.

"At least we still have this summer. We should make the best of it. Don't you think?" He says while looking down at Jin.

Seokjin lifts his head up, looking up at Taehyung.

"Yes Taehyungie! We can visit all our favorite spots! We will take your camera.. I mean if you want to." he says excitedly.

"Of course we can use it! I'll take picture of our spots and..of you" Tae says fondly.

Jin smiles shyly, his cheeks getting a hint of pink. Taehyung has never kept his feelings hidden from Jin, in hopes that one day Jin will reciprocate the feelings.

Jin would love to but, now since he's moving away, he doesn't know if he can handle the long distance realationship. Their friendship, of course, but it would be harder to maintain a healthy relationship.

"Ok Tae, we can start tomorrow. We can go to uhh.. the park! You know our hiding spot, the one you found that time we were playing hide and seek? We should go there! What do you think?" Jin says. He's excited to go back to their secret spot.

"Of course we can! I miss always going there-"
Tae gets interrupted when he gets a phone call. He pulls his phone out of his pocket.

"Hello?... yes eomma.. i'm at my Jinnie's house...yes i'll go home right now..i'll be there soon... bye.." Tae says, hanging up the call.

Seokjin gets up from Taehyung's chest.

"You have to go home?", he asks Taehyung, pouting.

"Sadly, yes i do Jinnie. Don't pout baby, you look too cute.", he says grabbing Jin's chin.

Jin slaps his arm playfully, "Stop Taehyung-ah. I'm not cute...you are", he says back.

Taehyung laughs. "Not cuter than you, that's for sure." He says winking.

Jin blushes. "Yah! Taehyung! You are keeping your eomma waiting. Go home already, we are going to see each other tomorrow again."

Tae chuckles and grab Jin's hand.

"Ok fine. Walk me out?" he says, making puppy eyes at Jin.

Jin rolls his eyes playfully, " Aish, I guess. Only because I love you"

"Oh my gosh! My Jinnie loves me? Oh my gosh I think i'm going to faint" Tae says playfully, putting his hand over his heart.

"Oh shut up!" Jin says giggling.

Tae chuckles as they walked down the stairs towards the door. He pulls Jin in for a hug before they say goodbye and he leaves.

Jin smiles as he sees Taehyung walking away, he then turns around and gives him his signature body smile while waving bye to him.
Jin smiles bigger and waves back.

Jin stays out until Tae disappears. He walks back in and climbs the stairs back up to his room.

He lays down on his bed and envelopes himself in the covers. He smiles as he can still smell Taehyung's scent on the covers.

He turns to his side and starts to fall asleep. This summer is going to be amazing. He can feel it.

He will make sure this is the best summer ever. This can be the last time they have a chance to hangout for a long time, he's going to live every day to the fullest. He will make sure to make his time worth while, before he leaves.

Taehyung will always be there for him, and he will always be there for Taehyung, no matter the distance. No matter what. I mean, they are soulmates after all.
