MIKE POV-

---- Earlier 7:47 AM ----

The ravenette was early into high school like he always was on account of his sister Nancy driving him before work. He carried band-aids with him just for the brunette "Why do I care if he got hurt?" He muttered under his breath. Before he couldn't stand the brunette and felt angry anytime his name was merely mentioned but recently, he was on his mind constantly somewhat scaring him.

He saw the Byers twins gallop into the room; despite being stepsiblings they were always perceived to be twins by most people who encountered them. Mike stared at them but notice that his usual longing for El was replace by him scanning the features of the brunette. When he wasn't seething with anger due to his step sister Mike thought he looked quite cute; like a little puppy dog.

"But like when lightning hits the sea, why don't all the fish die?" Will pondered placing a hand on his chin. The doe-eyed girl faced him stopping in her tracks thinking "Maybe they are waterproof?"

"But aren't they made out of water?" Will squinted his eyes deep in thought placing his bag on the table opening the zip taking his pencil case out before Lucas charged frantically into the room "Will?!" He spoke out of breath

"Oh, Lucas we have a question-" The brunette smiled

"Will! Mr Clark wants you" Lucas cut off

"W-what? Why?" The brunette furrowed his brows

"I don't know he just said its important" The athletic boy shrugged

"Oh... okay" Will nodded as the look on Lucas's face made him drop his stuff following the taller boy out the room and down the hall. El furrowed her brows wanting to ask questions but the pair left before she could even formulate a sentence.

Mike's eyes widen he didn't know what was going on but he heard snickering from Will's friends. He sighed trying to drown them out but upon hearing Will's name, his ears perked as Troy slipped a piece of paper and something pink into the brunette's bag before trudging out the class taking James with him. Mike followed the pair with his eyes having a bad feeling about this.

"Mike!" Dustin waved a hand in front of his face "MIKE!"

"Yeah! You're so distracted these days! And I know who is making you distracted" The curly haired boy suggested wiggling his eyebrows

"Will is not distracting me" Mike rolled his eyes

"Will? I was talking about El! What is this about Will! He's been acting different ever since Monday... I like it" Dustin rambled

"What are you talking about?" Mike questioned

"Will" Dustin smiled "He's nicer"

"Yeah, I guess" Mike shrugged; so even Dustin saw a change? Mike looked over at Will's desk remembering the note the two boys slipped in his bag. He shot up from his seat walking over to the desk reaching a hand in pulling out the crumpled paper slightly opening it but unable to read any words

"What are you doing in Will's bag?" Lucas blurted.

The ravenette flinched hiding the paper behind his back not wanting to get in trouble for snooping "Oh! Just umm... I thought I saw a fly" He said thinking of the first excuse he could think of. Why flies? But he awkwardly grinned going along with it confidently

"In the bag?" Lucas weakly pointed

"Yes... in the bag" Mike repeated

"I'm not even going to ask- but I do need Will's bag" The athletic boy dismissed

"What? Why?" Mike's eyes widened

"No clue! The teacher told me too" He shrugged

"Oh... okay" He smiled closing the zip handing it over to the athletic boy who quickly left thereafter.

The ravenette sat back in his desk hesitantly opening the note just seeing an answer sheet. Mike furrowed his brows confused. Why would his ex-friends give him this? Were they friend or foe? Turning the paper, he saw a pink post-it stuck to the back, the same he saw Troy place in the bag

Reading it his eyes widened, 'Fuck Off Fairy!' Was written on it, he wasn't sure if Will was gay but he definitely didn't deserve it. Muffling the sound of the class around him Mike snapped out his trance seeing a heavily blushing Will burst into the room followed by an equally red Lucas. upon entering El jumped up from her seat rushing over to the small boy waving her arms around screaming "What happened?"

"I got accused of cheating" He saw Will pout as Lucas calmly placed his bag down and to his desk, Mike could have sworn he saw a little bashful smirk on Lucas's face

"A-and?" El exclaimed loudly causing the ravenette to turn his attention grasping the brunette's shoulders shaking him around

"And nothing- they didn't find anything" Will admitted, looking over to his ex-friends

Mike leaned his arms on the table watching the event unfold in front of him; he knew exactly what happened as Troy and James were indeed the reason for this whole scheme. He now believed that Will had changed if his own friends were willing to turn on him.

He slightly frowned as it dawned on him that Will was now the victim.
