It didn't take long for Asahi to rush over to Nishinoyas aid. Pure worry and panic laced in his features and voice. He sat down in front of Noyas curled form and immediately took note he was specifically protecting his right wrist.
"N-Noya! There you are! Are you alright? What happened!?"He crouched down closer, trying to get a better look at his injured wrist. At least he thought it was injured, he seemed to be in a great deal of pain.
Nishinoya has finally opened his eyes to Asahi, though it seemed that he immediately felt guilty. Nishinoya was never the type to make anyone worry about him, especially Asahi. The smaller male turned to face him.
"N-number 15 from the other team-" He started. He stopped to try to keep his composure in front of Asahi. Almost as if he knew that if Asahi knew how much he was in he wouldn't let him play and he had to play. He needed to be there for the team, he was their guardian. Nishinoya didn't want to let anyone down.
He started up again "He cornered me.... And I tried to leave but he grabbed my wrist! Asahi- I heard a crack and I-" He started to tear up and he cussed at himself in his mind for mentioning the cracking noise. He had never felt such pain in one area before and that was saying a lot coming from karasuno's libero. He was generally used to being injured, small ones for sure that could never take him out of a game, but nonetheless injuries. He was covered in cuts in bruises around the clock.
Asahi could feel his heart ache with sympathy and worry. How could someone just do that? Deliberately hurt another person for no reason? He didn't understand but the more he thought about it the more anger he felt. This number 15 guy had done a number on Nishinoya. Nothing could easily take him down but here he was on the ground with tears threatening to spill from his eyes. He then remembered the tears. He snapped out of his anger immediately to try to comfort him.
"Hey, hey, hey! It's okay! You're going to be okay, come here," Asahi tried being very gentle, minding Nishinoya's injured wrist as he brought him into a tight hug. He could feel the shaking Nishinoya suddenly become more relaxed in his arms, as if his panic had suddenly flooded away and everything was okay. He swore he had even felt him burry his face in his chest for comfort.
Asahi gently pulled away from Noya, again being careful of his injury. "We're gonna get you to a Nurse, ok? And I'm going to take care of that Number 15" He explained as he gently took hold of Nishinoya's bad arm. He lifted his sleeve up slowly, and gently touched it trying to inspect it further.
When his friend winced and visibly flinched, he quickly took his hands away and muttered an apology. Nishinoya then quickly looked up at his friend in pure panic and for the first time in the entire conversation Nishinoya has locked eyes with Asahi.
"Asahi no! I'm ok! It's ok! I can play-" He started. Nishinoya wanted nothing more then to play in the match. He felt if he didn't play he would be letting the entire team down and he couldn't have that. He needed be there and be able to do something to help them. He didn't want anyone dealing with his problems, especially Asahi, and he didn't him going near that number 15.
Ashai was immediately surprised by Nishinoya's quick refusal. There was no way he was letting him play, and risking to worsen his injury. It already looked like his wrist was broken, making it worse could be Catastrophic for him.
"Are you crazy!?" He exclaimed. "If your wrist isn't broken now, you'll shatter it when you hit the ball! Do you want to sit out one game or never play again?" He hadn't realized he was nearly shouting but he knew he sounded harsh. Even so, he needed to get the point across to him. Nishinoya was incredibly stubborn, Asahi knew this better then anyone.
"Listen, this has to be against the rules r-right? We can probably get 15 out, or maybe the entire team, but there's no way I'm going through with match now and neither are you." He said sternly.
Nishinoya sucked in a breath, he had yet to realize how serious his situation was. This was simply because he didn't want to. If he let himself know how bad his wrist was, it would almost be like admitting defeat and that wasn't who he was.
He then flinched at never being able to play again. Was that true? He asked himself. He took another breath trying to calm himself down. "I know your right Ashai, but I can't just sit here and do nothing!" He exclaimed. Nishinoya was full of determination and he wasn't going down without a fight.
He then looked around for cameras, thinking maybe Asahi's plan wasn't so bad but he was too panicked to actually focus on seeing the cameras. Or any fine detailed for that matter. "We could try, but don't we need proof for that?" He asked looking back at Asahi.
Asahi might have rejected Nishinoya's first statement. He knew for a fact that him sitting and doing nothing would probably help him more then not but he knew if he said that out loud it wouldn't help anyone, especially not Nishinoya.
"Oh ya proof...." It had nearly slipped his mind that they would need some type of proof to show to the officials. If they didn't they might not believe them and it would only make their team look worse. Asahi was about to speak up when Nishinoya quickly cut him off.
"If I can't play and nothing happens to this number 15 guy, then you have to go through with the match Asahi! You need to promise me!" He shouted.
