Chapter 16 (Part 1)
⚠️Warning:⚠️Violence + Angry-Tsunami swearing
The Dragonets of Destiny's life were rather . . . chaotic, let's say.
The five dragonets were stripped away from their family and were raised by three demonic guardians, Kestrel, Webs, and Dune. They had grown up together to fulfill a prophecy that none of them truly completely believed in (except Sunny in this case).
After all, who would've thought that 5 dragonets would be able to save the world from the demise of the three powerful SandWing sisters?
Still, even after dealing with the three (OK, maybe two terrifying queens), they couldn't have been ever as scared as this.
~Clay~
He wasn't shocked that someone dead was standing in front of him-- Clearsight warned them and Clay accepted it. After dealing with the Eye of Onyx, he wouldn't be surprised if cows can fly.
But what he didn't expect was a MudWing standing in front of him. A MudWing he had never met before but knew. A MudWing he had thought about a lot. Reed, who was actually an exceptional artist had drawn a picture of her. . .
Crane.
My sister. My sib that died because of me.
She didn't look angry at him. In fact, she looked happy to see him. "Hello, Clay. . ." Crane smiled. "So, you're our BigWing.." Her eyes glowed with wonder.
Clay opened his mouth to speak but it came out as a croak. "Aren't you mad at me? I wasn't here when I was supposed to be. You died because of me, Crane. You should be mad. You should be slamming me against the wall by now!" Clay exclaimed, shaking his head in disbelief.
For some reason, it hurt twice as much to see Crane so happy to see him than if she attacked him. I- I killed her. I wasn't there to protect them. I wasn't here when they needed me. He stared at his shaking talons.
"Clay, I could never be mad at you," Crane responded, her face softening. "You're my brother. How could I be angry at my brother who had saved the world from the wrath of the SandWing princesses?"
"But I failed you, Crane. I- I should've been there to protect you but I wasn't. I was back in that cave roleplaying as stupid characters while you were fighting your head off. I failed you a-and Reed and Marsh and Pheasant and Sora and Umber!" Clay's voice was breaking. He could feel the tears pricking his eyes.
He dropped to his knees. "I'm sorry, Crane. I am..." He whispered.
"But it's not your fa--" Crane was quickly cut off. No literally. Her body was sliced in half and blood sploshed out of it. Droplets of scarlet-blood sprayed all over Clay's face. Crane's bright amber eyes shot open wide and she shrieked in pain.
"That's enough for you, Crane. You've done a good job... not sure what you did though. I guess this MudWing is just simply pathetic." A voice echoed. Clay couldn't hear him clearly though. All he heard and saw was the cut-up body of Crane and her shrieking.
"No... what- WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!" Clay screamed at the sky to get no response. He curled up into a ball and sobbed in a timid voice. "I'm sorry Crane. I've failed you again."
~Tsunami~
She was ready to defeat whoever dares to attack her. That squid brain- no that squid-crap Darkstalker would do nothing to Tsunami. She would- and definitely can kill whoever he sent. She knew she had the power to. No one has defeated her yet . . . at least, not physically.
Oh, they know how to ruin me... She thought bitterly as the insane green SeaWing stood in front of her. Or otherwise... her father whom she had killed. Tsunami closed her eyes. Stop thinking of it. They're manipulating my emotions. If I don't feel bad, I won't lose. I can't lose. Pyrrhia's at stake.
Gill snarled at her, spitting on the ground. His forked tongue slipped out and in. His eyes were bloodshot and he had an insane look just as she had remembered back in the SkyWing arena.
KILL HIM, Tsunami yelled at herself. It's the same as before. You can do it again.
To your own father? A voice whispered in her head.
Wow, you're cruel. Another flickered by.
You steep just as low as Darkstalker. Another mumble.
"I'M NOT HIM." Tsunami hissed through gritted teeth.
Gill lunged at her, swiping his wickedly long claws at her. Tsunami slipped away from him a bit too late, suffering a long scratch on her wing humerus.
Sh*t, Tsunami thought. I won't be able to fly temporarily. She paused mid-battle with a crest-fallen face. Gill lunged at her again, his wings wide open and claws reaching to snap her neck. Tsunami grabbed Gill's right talon and twisted it hard while she pressed her hind knee on his neck, forcing his head down.
Gill wriggled furiously and Tsunami raised her head, smirking. "C'MON DARKSTALKER, I expected more from you! Did you really think this could break me? I might not be able to kill him, but as long as I stop him from attacking me, I won't have to do anything."
A long silence held in the air. Still, Tsunami felt a prickle on her spine. Unsettling. Wait.. HIS TAIL, I DIDN'T BIND HIS TA- A skull-crushing whack made her feel dizzy . . . No, don't black out now...
Blank.
"Another one down..." Darkstalker's voice whispered. "Such a shame. I liked this Tsunami girl. It's too bad she's such a damn goodie-two-shoes. Wouldn't pay attention to her surroundings as well. She speaks when during situations she shouldn't, she says hurtful things unintentionally." He stopped and frowned. This Tsunami girl is reminding me too much of myself.
"Whatever. I did the right thing. . . I did..." Darkstalker mumbled.
