Get Me To The Church On Time

28 years old

Tyler took deep breaths, his arm linked with his father's who, yes, was still alive.

"Are you nervous?" His father's gruff voice rang through his ears.

"To get married, no. That I'll somehow embarrass myself, yes."

"You'll be alright. This is a special moment. If you embarrass yourself, laugh it off."

"Thanks, Dad," Tyler beamed, taking a final breath before they stepped inside of the church.

The music started, ringing in Tyler's ears. He took slow steps with his father, eyes immediately fixing upon Josh, and oh god he looked amazing. He stood at the end of the aisle, hands clutched politely behind him. His freshly-dyed blue hair matching the blue tie that hung over his white dress shirt. His black dress pants hugged his legs ever so slightly, Tyler practically drooling at just the sight.

Tyler was dressed similar, except he was wearing a blue shirt and a white tie. Everybody was gawking at Tyler, amazed at how absolutely stunning he looked. His cheeks burned, pink blush coating the familiar freckled-cheeks that Josh had come to love.

At the end of the aisle, Tyler's father handed him off to Josh and Tyler swore he'd never seen such a beautiful human being in his entire existence. Josh grinned at him, eyes gleaming with happiness. Tyler smiled back, crooked teeth poking through his lips.

The priest began speaking, interrupting Tyler from his thoughts about how godly Josh looked.

"We are gathered here today..."

Eventually turned into

"I now pronounce you as husband and husband. You may kiss the groom."

Tyler's heart fluttered at the smirk that Josh quickly gave him. They leaned in, lips meeting in a comforting kiss that sealed the whole ordeal. Josh was Tyler's husband. Tyler was married. To Josh. Finally.

Everyone erupted in cheers as Josh's arms made their way around Tyler's waist, dipping him down as they kissed. Josh brought him back up and pulled away, leaving Tyler blushing like crazy.

"I love you, husband," Josh spoke, testing out the new title.

"I love you too, husband," Tyler giggled.

His giggles turned into laughter as Josh swung him off his feet, carrying him bridal-style back down the aisle. They led all the family members outside to finish the rest of the reception.

They all made toasts to each other, laughing at the simplest things and enjoying everyone's company. Tyler had never been so happy.

He spent the whole night dancing with Josh, his father, his mother, his brothers and sisters. He danced with Josh's family. He danced with people he didn't even know. He was having the time of his life.

When it was time for him and Josh to cut the cake, Tyler shoved a handful of it in Josh's face. Josh let out a dramatic gasp, causing Tyler to nearly die laughing. That is, until Josh did the same. Then it wasn't so funny.

"Josh! That's not funny!"

"It is too," Josh argued, licking the sticky frosting from Tyler's cheek.

"Ewww," the younger whined, nose scrunching in disgust.

"Shut up, you love me."

"I know."

At the end of the night, everybody said their goodbyes. The newlyweds were planning to leave straight after the reception for a honeymoon in Spain. Tyler knew Spanish pretty well, but they were going to be meeting up with a translator while they were there in case they needed one.

Tyler's brother, Zack, was the one that drove them to the airport. They changed out of their suits in the car and into more comfy clothes. They said goodbye to Zack and entered the airport, hauling their suitcases behind them.

"I'm so excited," Tyler announced, bouncing up and down.

"I'm nervous. I've never been on a plane before."

"It'll be okay. Even if something happens, at least I'll be with you."

Josh smiled at his husband, placing a soft kiss to the top of his head.

"You're right," he agreed. "I'll always have you."
