Eifad emerged out of the airport and looked around expecting Tansen but to her pleasant surprise, Farhan greeted her at the airport. Dressed in a Teal shirt and Denim jeans, he looked handsome as always. Eifad smiled and hugged him.

'I missed you so much.' She said, her arms wrapped tightly around his neck and her one leg up.

'I missed you too, sweetheart.' Farhan whispered into her ear. The relieve Eifad felt was hard to put in words, she smiled snuggling into her arms. She felt his arms wrap tightly around her petite figure.

They parted when they heard someone clear their throat. Eifad felt little embarrassed on being caught by Mr. Saxena, Kiran and Imran, but she didn't let it show on her face.

As they sat in the backseat, Farhan extended his hand and placed it over Eifad's. She turned her head and smiled at him.

'So, how was the conference?' He asked playing with her fingers.

'Great.' Eifad looked at their hands momentarily before looking up at him again, 'You know who I met there?' she said unable to keep it to herself any longer.

'Who?'

Eifad entwined their fingers and smiled sadly at him, 'Shad!'

She noticed Farhan's expression change for a second, but he covered up by asking, 'How is he?' Farhan slipped his palm from her grip but before he could move his hand back Eifad held it tighter.

'He is fine. You know,' she smiled, 'Rhea is pregnant again. I wonder how he is going to handle so many kids. Why be so careless? Shad is a grown-up man, he should know better.'

Farhan smiled, 'Maybe they wanted a third child.'

'Yeah, but they had twins and they are just, what, one year...' Eifad then smirked, 'Hey. What if he gets twins again. His face will be worth watching.' Eifad laughed entangling her arms with Farhan's.

'Gosh! I should buy Shad some protection at his child's birth. Seriously, who does without it.' Eifad smiled.

'We did.'

Eifad's smile disappeared instantly as Farhan said it. His voice was a low whisper so only she and he could hear.

Eifad looked at him as though she has just seen a ghost.

But before she could say anything the car came to a halt. Farhan smiled placing his hand on her shoulder, 'Relax, there are 2 out of 10 chances for you know...'

Eifad didn't say anything, what if she did conceive that night?

'Maam?' Tansen opened the door for her. Eifad shook her head and looked at Farhan

'I hope I am not...'

'You don't look good when you are worried. So, don't worry. Okay.' Farhan assured her. Eifad didn't smile, she simply bid him goodbye and leaped out from the car. When he was about to climb out she interrupted, 'You stay,' she then looked at Tansen, 'Drop Farhan wherever he is going.' She ordered him who nodded his head.

'Bye!' Farhan called from inside the car but by then Eifad had walked away dragging her wheel bag with her.

'Mamma!' Zara came running towards Eifad with open arms. Eifad smiled kneeling and opening her arms as well. She embraced her little girl and felt all her tiredness wash away. The happiness to hold a child in your arms.

'What have you got for me, Mamma?' Zara asked once they parted. Eifad smiled and was about to answer when they heard Aisha's voice, 'Not now, Zara. Let Mamma rest, okay.'

Eifad's smile faded away on seeing her mother as she recollected Shad's words. Aisha smiled at Eifad who didn't return the smile back.

'How was your journey...?' Aisha asked.

'Dheem Kaka. Get me some water.' Eifad ignored Aisha and climbed up stairs leaving her bag behind for the servants to take. Aisha watched her perplexed not knowing why Eifad is ignoring her.

'I will miss you, Eifu.' Shad said with tears glistening in his eyes. He had come to the airport to see off Eifad. As Eifad had to leave by the morning's flight, his flight was at night. Eifad felt emotional for having to be separated from her best friend yet again. That day until Eifad's flight the two spend time together reminiscing their "Good old days" and getting emotional.

Eifad leaned forward and hugged Shad, 'Promise you will keep in touch no matter what who says.' Eifad said burying her head into his chest. She fought hard not to cry but the silly tears betrayed her.

'I promise.' Shad wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head. As they broke apart and Eifad walked away neither of them wiped their tears. Shad waved her goodbye with a promise to be always in touch and to also visit her someday.

Eifad opened her eyes realizing she had been sitting in the bathtub for one hour. With her head leaned against the tub, she kept thinking about Shad and their final meeting. She didn't realize how the time went by. She woke up only when she felt the freezing water. She quickly unplugged the tub and watched the water twirl inside through the hole. A wild thought came to her mind

What if she is pregnant?

She shook head, is there a way to find out now? If she is indeed pregnant Eifad has decided to abort the child. She doesn't want her to be unfair with Zara? What if with a child of her own, her own flesh and blood she begins to treat Zara as an outsider. No, she can't let that happen. Eifad bit her lower-lip, but Farhan? He will definitely not support the abortion.

Eifad sighed and leaned against the tub again.

'See what Mamma has gotten for you.' Eifad said. Zara watched holding her breath. Eifad smiled looking at Zara and took out an elegant Barbie and a talking doll. Zara leaped from the bed and jumped excitedly.

'Give me, Mamma. Give me.' she nearly pounced on Eifad. This time Eifad didn't glare at her, she let her be. Watching her smiling happily and playing with the doll, Eifad felt sad.

She recollected the Zara whom she had adopted one year back when she was five. Then she had been a timid young girl wearing terribly worn out and fading used cloth which had patches all over, her curly hair unkempt and filled with hair lies. And Eifad had groomed her well, she had painstakingly worked on Zara giving her all the happiness she deserves. The sad eyes, Eifad had seen the first day she met Zara still haunts her.

Eifad caressed her curly mane lovingly. Now, she is determined more than ever to never have a child of her own, for Zara's sake. She hoped Farhan understands her.
