Dheem Kaka greeted Eifad from the other side. Eifad gave him a small nod and entered the house removing her sunglasses.

'Hello, Maam.' Kiran's chirpy voice greeted Eifad as she entered the living room. Kiran stood beaming widely at Eifad while Kim sat on the sofa, her head lowered and her eyes staring at her clasped palms.

'Hey!' Eifad said little louder to get Kim's attention. And it worked, Kim's head shot up. As Eifad's gaze met hers, she smiled meekly at her.

'Good you two came.' Eifad said walking past Kiran who followed her excitedly. Kim was about to stand when Eifad gestured her to sit. Eifad placed her sunglasses on the table and sat with her legs crossed one over the other. Kiran sat on the single sofa beside Eifad.

There is a silence between them for a while before Eifad broke the silence, 'So, three days later there will be a meeting and you will be called.' Eifad said seriously. Kim nodded.

Eifad then turned her head towards Kiran, 'and I have a work for you.' Kiran shifted little nodding excitedly.

'You will help Mr. Saxena to find other women, doctors nurses and even patients who might be victims of Gaurav.' Eifad said seriously. Kiran nodded before saying, 'But Maam? Patients?' she sounded skeptical.

'I don't want to take any chances. We will get anyone and everyone who will stand with us.' Eifad said and turned her attention back to Kim.

Eifad spoke with Kim, general things about her and her family. Kim was hesitant at first but then eventually opened. Eifad listened to her, watching her carefully, observing her body language.

'Shall we have some drinks...orange, watermelon... what you girls will have?' Eifad asked.

'Orange.' Kiran said instantly. Eifad noticed Kim sulking again, she placed her palm on her shoulder and asked again.

'Orange.' She said meekly.

'Very well.' Eifad called for Dheem Kaka and ordered their drinks. Eifad then turned towards Kiran and asked her to come with her for a second.

'Just give us a minute please.' Eifad excused and Kim nodded.

Eifad then walked towards a corner and Kiran followed looking at her curiously.

'Kiran, remember you told about your Uncle?' Eifad whispered. Kiran recollected the night at the school when Eifad had dropped her and her sister Koyal to their home. Then, she had said about her leach Chacha. Kiran nodded.

'So, when I ask you to tell about yourself tell how you tackled your Uncle. It will inspire her.' Eifad said gesturing towards Kim. Kiran nodded.

Eifad turned around walked back towards the sofa.

'Ah, the drinks are here.' Eifad said as Dheem Kaka walked in with the drinks. Eifad gestured him to forward the tray towards Kim, he gave a small nod and forwarded the tray towards Kim. Eifad noticed her hand tremble little as she picked up the glass. Eifad frowned shaking her head slightly.

Kiran also took a glass and forwarded first to Eifad who smiled and took the glass. Kiran then took a glass.

One hour later, Eifad dismissed both Kiran and Kim. Today was the first day and so she mostly observed Kim closely. Her idea of Kiran talking about her Uncle was very helpful, it did inspire Kim a little. Eifad also spoke about the terrace incident when Gaurav had tried his luck with her. But she didn't let even a peep of what happened to her when she was four and fifteen, no one should know about that, ever.

'Is everything all right?' Aisha asked Eifad as they sat together for dinner. Eifad nodded not telling her much.

'So, has Kim decided to speak in front of the panel?' Aisha asked placing Aloo-Matar vegetable on Eifad's plate. Eifad looked sharply at Aisha who looked back cluelessly. Eifad gestured with her eyes towards Zara who oblivious to everything was poking a pea with the fork and making faces.

Aisha nodded and silently apologized. They then had their dinner silently.

After dinner Eifad freshened up and dressed in sleeveless Maroon two-piece night PJs. Eifad heard a knock as she entered her room wiping her face with a towel.

'Come in.' she said wearing her night robe. Aisha entered. Eifad knew why she was here.

'Ma, the first day was good. But there is so much work to do. Kim is intimidated. But she is slowly opening up.' Eifad said as the mother-daughter duo sat at the edge of the bed. Aisha smiled and held her daughter's hand in hers.

'What you are doing is very brave. I am proud of you.' she smiled

'Thanks, Ma.' Eifad smiled too. Seeing her smile, Aisha felt emotional. She leaned forward and side hugged Eifad.

There was a time when the relationship between her and Eifad was sour. Aisha regrets till date for not being there for her daughter when she needed her the most. She had let her silently suffer but not anymore. Now, Aisha always ensures she knows what is happening in Eifad's life, at times with Eifad's knowledge and at times without her knowledge, many times with Farhan's help.
