'Can you shut up, please.' Eifad said annoyed. Farhan laughed for few more minutes before stopping. He placed his one hand on his stomach and with the other he wiped his tears. He took deep breaths to calm himself down.

'Okay, I am leaving.' Eifad got up angrily. But before she could leave Farhan leaned forward and grabbed her wrist. She stopped in her tracks and turned to look at him.

He smiled at her, 'I am sorry.'

'Better.' Eifad sat back, she folded her arms across her chest and raised her chin little high.

'Stop getting so personal, Hooda.' Farhan smirked at her. Eifad rolled her eyes.

'Whatever.' She then glanced at the clock, 4.00am. There is still one hour to kill, she turned her head and looked at him.

'So?' she shrugged, 'there is still time...so, why don't.... you.... sing something for me?' she said.

Farhan smiled brightly, 'I can sing all day for you.' He winked.

Eifad exhaled loudly, 'Not whole day, just for... ten minutes.' she said rolling her eyes.

'Okay.' Farhan shrugged.

Eifad leaned forward placing her elbow on her thigh and her chin on her knuckles, she looked on as Farhan strung his guitar, adjusting it. He smiled at Eifad, she silently urged him to go on. Eifad doesn't admit it aloud but she knows she secretly loves hearing him sing, his voice is very melodious.

Farhan cleared his throat, played a small tune, and then began. Eifad felt lighter already.

'Hmmm......'

'Hey Humnava mujhe apna bana le

Sookhi padi dil ki iss zameen ko bhiga de'

Farhan looked at Eifad, she smiled at him. He closed his eyes and continued the song.

'Kab se main dar, dar phir raha

Musaafir dil ko panaah de

Tu awaargi ko meri aaj thehra de

Ho sake toh thoda pyaar jataa de

Sookhi padi iss dil ki zameen ko bhiga de'

Eifad closed her eyes swaying to the tune and of course his voice.

Farhan opened his eyes and stared at Eifad lovingly as he continued

'Murjhaayi si shaakh pe dil ki

Phool khilte hain kyun

Baat gulon ki zikr mehak ka

Acha lagta hai kyun

Un rango se tune milaaya

Jinse kabhi main mill na paaya'

Farhan felt very happy as he sang the song, he had always wanted to sing this to Eifad and he is glad he got a chance to tell his feelings to her indirectly through the song.

Eifad has a serene smile on her face as she felt lost in the song and his voice. She felt like she has been transported to some other planet, a happy planet.

'Dil karta hai tera shukriya

Phir se bahaare tu laa de

Dil ka soona banjar mehka de

Sukhi padi dil ki is zameen ko bhiga de'

Eifad opened her eyes and her gaze met Farhan, he gazed into her eyes as he sang. Eifad found it difficult to avert her gaze away from him. So she looked on

'Tere aane par jaana maine

Kahin na kahin zinda hoon main

Jeene lagaa hoon main ab ye fizaayein

Chehre ko chhooti hawaayein'

Eifad straightened, her hands resting on her lap. Farhan held her gaze with confidence as he continued.

'Inki tarah do kadam toh badha le

Sookhi padi dil ki iss zameen ko bhiga de'

Eifad stared at him unblinkingly, Farhan smiled sadly completing the song.

'O... hoon akela, zara haath badha de

Sookhi padi dil ki iss zameen ko bhiga de'

He played the guitar awhile before ending the song. As the trance, broke Eifad snapped back to reality.

Farhan smiled at her. Eifad blinked at him, took a second to compose herself.

'Wow!' she said still dazed.

Eifad has heard Farhan before but never so leisurely. She is amazed.

Farhan stood, did a little bow, and said, 'Thank you.' he smiled. Eifad clapped smiling widely.

'There is still time, can you...can you... teach me little of this.' Eifad bit her lower-lip as she pointed at the guitar. Farhan nodded instantly.

He handed her the guitar, as she took it, he warned lightly, 'Be careful.'

He had expected Eifad to frown at him instead she smiled, 'It is your mother's gift, I will be extra careful.' She blinked at him. Farhan nodded and sat beside her.

Eifad held the guitar, Farhan advised her how to hold it. She kept messing up.

'Uff ho!' Farhan sighed. He stood up and walked behind her.

Eifad felt her heartbeat increase feeling his face close to hers. In these two years, she had always avoided this feeling but after the amazing song he just sang for her, she doesn't want to suppress her feeling for now.

He placed his palm over hers, she admired him closely as he guided her. At one point, Farhan's gaze fell on her and their eyes got locked. They gazed into each other's eyes for a while before his gaze fell on her lips. Eifad's gaze followed his and her gaze fell on her lips too. Farhan looked up into her eyes after a while, Eifad gazed into his eyes once again. Farhan's palms still resting over hers.

They found themselves lost into each other's eyes.

TING .... TING ....

Both snapped out jumping apart. They looked away, an awkward silence between them.

'I must leave.' Eifad said standing up. She glanced at the wall clock, 4.45am. It will be dawn soon and she wants to be out before anyone spots her coming out from Farhan's apartment and think wrongly of them.

Farhan nodded. But before Eifad could walk away Farhan held her hand. She looked at him.

Oh no! the glint is back. She freed her hand avoiding his gaze.

'Farhan... it will be dawn soon...' she said and hurried towards the main door. Farhan didn't interrupt her and silently followed.

'You want me to come with you down?' he asked as she stepped out of the door. She shook her head.

'No, I will manage and...' she smiled at him, 'thanks for the coffee and the amazing song.' She complimented him again. Farhan forced a smile.

She turned and walked, but as she stopped at the elevator she turned and looked at Farhan. He stood there holding the door and looking at her.

She waved at him, he waved back. They looked at each other for a while until the elevator door opened.
