Im starting to like you
*Izuku Midoriya's POV*
The door shuts, and i'm finally alone. "Wahhhh- that was so embarrassing! I just stood there!" I facepalmed myself, and rested my back against the door. For most of my life I chased people, but they were always out of reach. I had never thought i'd be in this situation. If anything I expected to chase Bakugou until the end. My heart would ache every time I thought about him, but now it was beating for a different reason. I got up from the floor, and decided to unpack the rests of my stuff. 'Im lucky Shoto didn't comment on the mess.' I mumbled to myself. Hours have gone by, and the clock read 12:47. "I should probably go to bed, hopefully tomorrow is even better."
My droopy eyelids opened to the sound of my alarm blaring. "Five more minutes mom, I promise i'll be up by then-" I slurred, falling back to sleep. "SHI- I HAVE CLASS!" I shrieked, blasting out of bed. Which Instantly regretted, due to my legs still being half asleep. I quickly get up not wasting anytime, and stumbled into the bathroom. I decide to brush my teeth in the shower to save some time.
I slip my uniform on, and start blow drying my hair, to give its natural wavy look. I take a quick look in the mirror, hoping I at least look presentable. Then grab my bright yellow backpack, and sling it around my shoulder. "I probably have enough time for a quick breakfast," I assured myself. I walk into the kitchen, make some toast, and walk out the door. "Hey! You!," a familiar voice called. "Oh- Mineta is it?" It was difficult to hide the disappointment in my voice. "Yup! Thats me!" He exclaimed proudly, "I had asked the other guys on this floor if they wanted to walk to homeroom together, but I guess they forgot." Gee this guy is extremely oblivious. I thought to myself. "Who else lives on our floor?" I asked awkwardly as we walked. "You, me, a french kid named Aoyama who made it every clear what his name was, and an emo kid named Todo-Toko.. Tokoyami I think." he blabbed. I hope they're better than this guy, I prayed. We walked in silence as we finally made it to homeroom. "Don't worry ladies the men have arrived!" Mineta shouted confidently. Hiding my face from embarrassment I shuffled to my seat, and small purple male sat behind me. God, will this ever end? I groaned quietly. "Hey neighbor, I just realized you never told me your name!" Mineta whispered behind me. "It's something you don't need to know," someone growled slamming his hands on Mineta's desk. "Wait Ka- Shoto?" The boy that confessed to me yesterday was now rescuing me from this unwanted conversation. Even though I was glad, Mineta would found out my name sooner or later. " Izuku, my name is Izuku Midoriya," I said hesitantly, then dismissed the smaller boy. "Was he annoying you?" Shoto whispered as he sat in the empty seat in front of me. "Was it that obvious?" I giggled at the handsome boy in front of me. "Izuku yo-" Shoto tried to say as someone interrupted. "Oi, half n' half you're in my damn seat." Bakugou sneered. As he stood over us, I quickly studied him. His untamed spiky blonde hair, his over confident stance, his lively red eyes, even the way he wears his uniform. For the first time I just saw Katsuki Bakugou, my childhood best friend.
"Did you not hear me bastard?!" Bakugou said, slightly raising his voice.
"I'll move when I wan-"
"Yes! Alright sorry kacchan!" I pleaded, not wanting to start anything.
I watched Shoto as he stood up, and walked to his seat. His presence was now replaced with a now ticked off blonde. I look back one last time, and see Shoto lying his head on his desk. 'I hope he's not mad.' I though, feeling a bit bad. "Since when are you friends with that half n' half." Bakugou asked impatiently. "For a while now," I replied. Bakugou tsked then went on ignoring me.
The bell rang and a few people shuffled in along with Mr. Aizawa. "Alright good morning, I'll take roll and then you guys can carry on." Just like yesterday he went down the list, then fell asleep in his yellow sleeping bag. The class splits up into small groups, and i'm about to join Shoto when Iida and Uraraka approach me. "Hey Midoriya!" "Greetings Midoriya!" They welcomed. "Oh..Hey guys," I mumbled under my breath. "Can we join you?" Uraraka asked shyly. "Actually I need to talk to someone," I admitted. "Oh..o-ok, sorry to bother you," She mutters, twiddling her thumbs. I walked up to Shoto and sat with him. "Hey!" I smiled at him. He picks up his head, and looks at me. Butterflies started flooding my stomach as his quiet mood changed. "Hello Izuku," he said still staring at me. The longer he looked at me the more nervous I became. 'Is he regretting confessing to me? What if he finds me uninteresting? What if he now thinks i'm weird?' I doubted. "Would you like to go on a date with me Zuku?" He declared. 'Zuku? ZUKU?' I instantly became a blushing even more nervous mess. "I-i'd love to Shoto!" I gushed. Under the desk he slides his hands into mine, and squeezes it. There's no doubt that I trust this boy. I basically told him I was gay without knowing how he'd react. He knows stuff about me that not even kacchan knows. Well it's not like he'd listen anyway. Not only does Shoto accept me, but he understands me. I know that i'm developing feelings for him, but I also know i'm not completely over Kacchan, even though I want to be. In the past I would always feel guilty having feelings for him. It felt like I was taking advantage of our friendship. But with Shoto it feels natural, it feels right.
