7: Scary
"Th-there." Satan panted out. "It took my biggest wing. Please, go tell her. I want her home before the baby comes."
Blood dripped from his bloody bone-- exposed from him ripping out his beautiful feathers by the handfuls.
"I-I lined the crib and our marital bed." Tears fell from his face. "Please. Can't you tell my wife to come back?"
Melinoe looked over at her sister with a grossed-out look on her face.
"Daddy..." She mumbled, "We'll... work on it..." But as he threw his head into his hands, she shook her head no at Macaria. She was done with this weird situation and didn't really feel like going to find you anymore. Watching her father yank out his own feathers was a touch too disturbing for her.
"Pathetic." Macaria spat. "Why would you do that? You know she's not going to come back. She hates you, father."
She shook her head and turned to leave.
"I won't be bothering anymore. Mel, you shouldn't either." Macaria flicked her wings out in annoyance. "Obviously he has no self-control. It's just a waste of time. Give him a few hundred years."
He fell to his knees at his daughter's harsh words. But instead of crying, his face twisted.
"No." He stared at the ground. "No, you will not speak to me that way. I am your father and I am the ruler of the Underworld."
"You are pathetic." Macaria fluttered her wings and walked out towards the tunnel that would lead her to Thanatos.
But with a crash, the tunnel sealed.
"You will not defy me!" Satan stood up and commanded his daughters. "I have had enough of you both treating me as if you are above me! No one is above me!"
Macaria whipped around with fury in her eyes.
"Let me out of here now, Father." She growled as Melinoe cowered against the wall of the room.
"You will apologize to me and pass my message to your mother or you will never leave this room." He threatened easily.
"Or what?" Macaria crossed her arms. "You have no leverage."
"Macaria." Satan looked up at the ceiling as blood dripped down from his wings. "I worked very hard to bring you into this world, but you it would be easy to remove you."
And for the first time in her entire life, Macaria truly feared her father.
"Obey me." He looked at her harshly.
"Mac, please." Melinoe whimpered. "Daddy is scary."
"Listen to your little sister, Macaria." Satan began to walk over towards his daughter. "Daddy can be very scary. I'm telling you to submit and obey me. Go. Tell. Your. Mother. Or I will kill you."
She shook where she stood and Melinoe broke out into tears.
"Fine." She whispered.
"What was that, my daughter?" He towered over her, flaring his magnificent wings around her intimidatingly, minus one full wing of course. "I am afraid I did not hear you."
"Fine. I submit. I will let her know."
"And?" He stared down at her.
"And I am sorry, Father." She looked down and retracted her wings.
"Go. Get out. Both of you." He turned around swiftly and sat back down on the ground. Macaria and Melinoe left.
