Chapter 13

"Hey Re?" Roman said, pulling his boots on and looking at his brother, who was still asleep. Roman rolled his eyes. "Come on, I know you're awake."

"This is a recorded message. Remus Queen is not here right now. Please fuck off and leave a message." Remus grumbled. Roman laughed and threw a pillow at Remus' head. Remus turned around in his bed and glared at Roman. "It's not school today. I don't have to get up. Besides," Remus turned his back to Roman, "I'm tired."

"Yeah well I'm not. Come on." Roman stood up and hit Remus on the side of the head. Remus growled and pulled the covers over his head. Roman sighed. "Well, I guess I'll just have to go see Janus on my own." He started walking towards the door, counting down in his head. 5... 4... 3... 2...

"You're going to see Blondie?" Roman laughed under his breath.

"Yep. But if you're too tired to-"

"No! No, I'm awake. Wait for me! Remus yelled, shooting out of bed and running around the room, trying to find his clothes.

"Works every time." Roman thought.

Roman checked his work and nudged Janus. "Hey, this good?"

Janus looked at Roman's work and gave him and thumbs up. "Only thing is," Janus said, taking his lollipop out of his mouth, "for number 4, you're meant to give at least 5 examples, you've only given 3."

"Oh. Right. Kinda hoping you wouldn't see that." Janus laughed and turned back to talk to Remus.

"Hey Jan." Someone said quietly, sitting down next to Roman.

"Hey Virge." Janus said, sparing the other prince a glance and a smile.

Roman glanced at Virgil for a second before going back to his work. Virgil looked very different when he was actually out in the sunlight. His dark hair didn't look so black, there were golden-brown patches here and there, depending on where the sunlight fell. And he didn't wear so much black make-up when he was outside, so the colour in his eyes was a little more pronounced. His eyes were a dark blue so having black make-up ringing his eyes all the time dulled their colour slightly. Roman mentally shook himself and looked back at his work. Sure, he wanted to use Virgil to climb higher and help the kids from the Isle but he didn't want Virgil, did he?

"Um, Roman?" Virgil asked, making Roman, who had been lost in his thoughts, jump. "Oh, sorry. Um, can I talk to you? Like, alone?"

"Uh, sure." Roman said, closing his homework book and signalling to his brother that he'd be back soon. Remus wolf-whistled quietly and Roman shot him a glare. Janus laughed slightly and Virgil rolled his eyes before catching Roman's sleeve and pulling him away.

"Okay, so what d'you want?" Roman asked, leaning against a tree. Virgil pulled on his sleeve, snatching glances at Roman before dropping his eyes back to the floor.

"I... misjudged you." He said eventually. "But not entirely. But... quite a bit. And, God I can't believe I'm doing this, I'm sorry. What happened with Daniel and Remus got around the school pretty quickly and I felt pretty bad because how Daniel's been acting is like how I've been, except more extreme. So... yeah, I'm sorry."

Roman shrugged. "I don't honestly know what you expect me to say. Sorry's pretty meaningless on the Isle. Why don't we try start again?" Roman cleared his throat and held out his hand. "Hello, I'm Roman Queen. Son of the Evil Queen."

Virgil laughed slightly, shaking Roman's hand. "Hello back. I'm Virgil Beast, son of Belle and Prince Adam. Nice to meet you."

"Okay, good. We've started again." Roman smiled. "You gonna try and start again with Remus?"

"Oh no. He is way too crazy for me to try and start again." Virgil said, making Roman laugh.

"You got that right."

Hey. We're actually getting somewhere with this story, who would've thought?
Bye,
Queenie
