Dreaming
The girl could dream. She could dream she woke up in the arms of the forest-eyed boy she cared so deeply about. She could dream that he held her close that morning, whispering across the pillow about how much he loved her. That he'd never let her love go to waste. She dreamed that they showered together, his hands caressing her soft skin, and holding her lips to his. They would get out of the shower. They'd have bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns for breakfast, cooked to perfection by both sets of hands. Dress for the day in comfortable sweats and baggy t-shirts, watching tv and playing card games like they used to. Magic. It was their game. He taught her, but he never went easy on her. Every time, he won. She didn't mind though, because the smile that split his face was outstanding. It warmed her little heart every time.
Lunch would roll around, and they'd have a salad with a shrimp ring on the side. She loved shrimp. He'd feed it to her, and she would him. It was like a dream come true. It was, in her mind. Then came a round of Trouble, then some Crazy 8's and a game of Twister. An afternoon nap would appear, and she'd curl up in his arms and listen to his heart beat in his chest. She loved him. Everything about him.
Supper rolled in, with a plate of poutine and a can of Pepsi. They would laugh at Just For Laughs tv show, watching a seemingly endless stream of people getting pranked. It was great. After doing the dishes and cleaning up, he'd place his hands on her hips and pull her close. She would smile to herself, knowing well enough what would come next. It wasn't long before she was panting on his bed, begging him for more.
They would get ready for bed around 9 o'clock. Sadly, he would have to work in the morning, so she made sure to make a mental note to have supper ready for him when he came home. She loved her life. It was everything she wanted it to be. Her lids grew heavy with each beat of his heart, and soon she passed into sleep in her lover's arms.
