"Life just isn't fair."

Pocahantas Smith owed everything in her life to Charles Bishop.

The man had given her a chance to finally be herself. And she owed her life to the man, even if he had died years ago.

Hana never told anyone about Charles, not even his grandson, Logan Bishop.

Her history with the Bishop children hadn’t been the greatest, Hana left the Bishop Family when the two siblings were twelve. She hadn’t fit in with their family dynamic. Charles’s wife had never liked her. Ursula King-Bishop never liked Pocahantas Smith.

Neither did Leland, and his little sister always looked up to her brother so anything Leland Bishop didn’t like, Thalia Bishop didn’t like either.

The sixteen year old last Smith chose to take her own path away from the Bishop family, to save them from themselves.

She had seen how three of them hated her, and the only one who did like her was the man she had grown to call her father. And he was willing to tear apart his family for a girl that wasn’t even his flesh and blood. Hana would never have allowed it.

So she had packed her bags, taken her savings from the job she had been working part-time at during her stay with the Bishops and made sure to thank Charles for everything he had done for her, then left.

She had still kept in touch with Charles, even going to his wife’s funeral when she died, just to be there for the man who took care of her like his own daughter. His children never turned up.

Pocahontas Smith was alway there. Her ”siblings” somehow seemed to follow her throughout her life. Thalia ended up joining the same college as Hana, only she joined the accounting side of the school while Hana was in the teaching side.

Leland had been there when his sister graduated, Hana’s graduation. Hana had to take a couple terms off to try and work more to get the money to continue her schooling. It took her a while, but she managed to get the money.

Charles had come to their graduation, proud of both of his daughters. By blood and by bond.

The second time they had appeared in her life, Hana had been working in a primary school in New York. Leland had been taking his four year old son to school.

His wife, Athena Steadfast-Bishop had been a kind woman. Someone who didn’t deserve to be with someone like Leland.

One day, Thalia and her daughter had appeared, picking up little Logan Bishop with Athena Steadfast.

Hana had liked the sibling’s children a lot more than their parents. Little Panacea Hammer and Logan Bishop were what their parent’s should have been like. Sweet, innocent, and pure. Somethings Thalia and Leland Bishop had never been under the influence of their mother, Ursula King.

The only difference between the two siblings was how protective and kind Thalia could be. Hana had only seen the nice side when Thalia had been with her daughter and nephew.

Leland was a different story. The man seemed to slowing falling into a descending spiral. Only his wife could snap him out of it.

Hana had been fired before she found out anything else about her "brother".

Because Leland Bishop was the reason Pocahontas Smith lost her first teaching job.

She had been minding her own business, teaching her students, which one of them just had to be Logan, when the man had rushed into the classroom looking a little bit(oh, definitely more than a little bit) crazy.

He had rushed to his son and was dragging the poor boy out of the class when he finally noticed her. Hana had moved forward, trying to make sense of the situation when her "brother" froze.

His body had started to shake in fury as he literally glared daggers at her. Then, not even she had expected it, he had started yelling at her.

And soon enough, more adults came to see what was happening, eventually the principal had to come in with the police to escort the raging man off the premises. The man’s son was confused but patiently waited for his mother who the office had called.

Later that day, Hana was fired.

The reasoning was that the school couldn’t have any more outburst by parents who didn’t like her, which would ruin their reputation(what little they had). But Hana knew that Leland must’ve paid them an immense amount to get them to kick her out.

After that, Hana had to move. No one in New York wanted to hire her, her “brother”’s influence in the city too massive for her to even try. She was then kicked out of her apartment because Leland had threatened her landlord.

Hana then decided to move far, far, far, away from New York. Going as far to the dusty desert of Jasper, Nevarda to get away from Leland’s influence.

Which was the reason Pochanatos Smith met the love of her life.
