"What do you think?". He raised an eyebrow and smirked.

"Cameron be serious!."

"Aww. Were you planning baby names already?. So whatchu got?. Jamie?. Dakota?. Grey?. Anna?".

"Cameron!!".

"Alright,alright." He raised his hands up in surrender. "I'm as straight as a French curve." He said, confusing me the more.

"French curves aren't straight!!." I cleared my throat and mentally wrote a five paged speech as quick as flash. "Look. Cameron, its okay if you're gay. It doesn't change anything about... ".
He placed a finger on my lip, shutting me up.

"Chill babe. I was only joking."

"Cameron. I won't judge you. I promise."

"You're really not going to stop. " he frowned. "I'm not gay alright. I wish I were though. I was enjoying your speech."

"What??!!". The mental notes I'd written suddenly burnt to ashes. "Why did you do that?".

"I never said I was. I just let you guess." He smiled. Just then, his phone rang.

"You're a fan of Eminem?". I asked since his ringtone was rap god.

"Hardcore."

"I challenge you to a rap battle. Not now though. Some other time."

He missed the first call and it rang again.

"Hey bro. We should come now?." He said to the caller. I'm guessing its Eric. Wait!!. School isn't over yet. Does it mean, DORY AND ERIC SCALED THE FENCE?!!.

"It's them right?".

" yeah".

"I'm not going." I folded my arms.

"Why?".

Seriously?. Am I the only one who realises that school isn't over yet?.

"I'm not leaving till school's over." I stated and began to walk away.

"Wait!." He shouted but I pretended not to hear him. He wasn't going to force me to do what I didn't want to. "What about Rory?". He shouted again.

This time, I decided to answer. "She's not thinking straight!!". I shouted back.

He stopped shouting and I continued walking. I was going to the library to bury myself in a good book.
I'd only walked past the biology lab when I was pulled back. I almost fell because the janitor was mopping,making the floor slippery.

"You're stubborn. How about we go after school. I'll call Eric and tell him about the change of plans."

"We?. You're not going too?." He nodded, making me smile. "That's fine by me."

"Alright then. It's settled." He said as he brought out his phone, rap god playing again.

Few seconds after the bell rang, Cameron dragged me out of the class. I don't know if he had developed a liking for dragging.
I let him drag me all the way to the car park because I knew where we were headed but I didn't know what I was going to face.
An angry Dory and her fuming boyfriend.

"Quickly get into the car. We've already lost so much precious time." Eric said, directing the last part to me.

I went in and Cameron sat beside me then Dory -I don't know if she'd calmed down or wanted to talk to me- asked him to switch seats. So he sat with his cousin and I with Dory.

"Why didn't you come earlier?". She said once the car started moving.

"Because I didn't want to leave school. " I flatly replied, looking straight into her eyes. I'd wanted her to feel bad but no, she surprised me.

"What's wrong with leaving school before closing time? School's boring anyway."

"Dory.." I wanted to tell her that her boyfriend was influencing her but I remembered he was in the car, driving. So I just shut up and looked out the window.

I was looking out the window till I saw a large sign post with 'Lake Chad' inscribed on it. A brown gate was opened for us and Eric drove in. I'd expected to immediately see water and trees but I was disappointed stood before me, as we came down from the car were tables and chairs covered in white clothes with glasses and plates on them. There was also a large building with 'Chad restaurant' written on it.

"I thought we were going to a lake." I voiced out my disappointment.

"We are, silly. " Dory said as she dragged me towards the restaurant, then turned and went behind it.

The first thing I spotted was a blue blanket with a big basket on it. Looking further, I saw the trees and the clear blue water.

I walked towards it and stood in front of the lake or so they call it. It looked more like an open fish tank. The water was too clean and the fish looked selected and... Is that a fish castle?.

"Do you like it?". Cameron said startling me.

"Yeah. Its nice." I lied.

"Really?. It looks too artificial to me. Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion."

I took one last look at a swimming memo and walked back to dory.

"Isn't it beautiful?." She sighed dreamily.

"Have you seen the tank?. Sorry,lake?."

"Yeah. The fishes are so beautiful".

I just sighed and bent to sit down on the grass. I hope it's not fake too. She passed me a chicken sandwich and I ate it quietly.

How was I going to tell this happy girl I wasn't enjoying this?.

"I'll go find the fourth wheel." I finally made up an excuse to stand up.

"Sure." She nodded and added "oh!. You're back." Just as I bumped into her boyfriend. I opened my mouth to apologise and then saw that look. The sane look he'd given me the first day I bumped into him. He quickly changed it and apologised instead of me. I nodded and walked away.

As I was about approaching Cameron who was sitting under a tree, my phone rang.

"Hello." I said without looking at the caller ID.

"Would you like to visit Laney at the hospital later today?."

"Dad?!." This was the first time he'd ever called my phone. "Um..I don't know. "

"Its okay if you don't want to come and... Never mind." He sounded like he wanted to say something else."

"Okay." I said and hung up.

Call me a bitch but I didn't feel like seeing them. I've been enjoying the peace and quiet and I didn't want anyone ruining it. After all, if the roles were reversed, they wouldn't visit me either.

I finally walked up to Cameron and sat down beside him.

"Hey."

"I'm not feeling this place at all. It should've been just a restaurant or a real lake." He complained.

"I lied earlier. I don't like it too. It's just that Dory seems happy and I don't want to ruin it for her."

"Being the good best friend, I see." He laughed.

"Its not like I can say anything against him."

"She wouldn't even believe a word you say. That's what love does. It blocks out every reasoning and makes foolish things seem right. "

"Good thing I'm immune then."

"Mind sharing some immunity?."

"No!. Go get yours." I pushed him playfully and he fell.

"Not the grass too." He rubbed his elbow.

"What's wrong?."

"It's fake too." He said,pulling out one to show me. It was really fake. It had holes on the stem where the grass was inserted. I wonder if people actually enjoy coming here. Your best friend does.

"How many more hours do we have to stay here?" I muttered.

"You guys are no fun." Dory lightly pushed my shoulders from behind as if to answer my question.

I looked up and saw Eric behind her with the empty basket and blanket and ooh! Lipstick marks on his face and on the collar of his yellow shirt.

"I'm guessing you're done with whatever it is you were doing and we're ready to go. Right?". Cameron asked,tired as I was.

"Right. Dory smiled and I heaved a sigh of relief.

I'm so so sorry for not updating earlier. I resumed uni late so I have a lot to cover. I have no spare time but I'll try to update. Preferably on weekends. Thanks for your understanding.
