Purple
Zac and I got to my table to see the usual crowd on their usual side of the table while Ciara was busy with her phone on my side. She glanced up when Zac sat in the seat beside her but instead of turning to Zac, she got up to check me out.
"Are you okay? Did they hit you?" She asked as she touched my cheeks and I winced when her fingers grazed the spot Ian had hit. She noticed the discomfort almost immediately and added, "They hit you there, didn't they? Let's go to the infirmary."
She slid her hand down to meet mine and tried to pull me away but I just shook my head and pulled her back and said with a smile, "Thanks Ciara but I can handle myself."
"But-" She started but I cut her short.
"I know but since I don't want this attention you are spilling me with, how about you throw a couple at Zac over there." I suggested then tilted my head at the poor guy that was staring at us hopelessly.
Ciara glanced at him then back at me, "He's cool right?"
"He'll pass."
Ciara gave me a smile then turned back to Zac and approached him. I, on the other hand, realized that I had totally messed up my schedule today. It's so bad that I haven't even eaten my sandwich yet and lunch was already over.
I could already feel the restless anticipation building inside me which meant I had to run to my class. Releasing a groan, I waved to the couple then ran quickly to my locker to get my books. I didn't need to rearrange my locker because I was already feeling the effect and if I was, I can never arrange locker the way I wanted.
Finally seated in my seat, I got out my purple jotter and started to write out the numbers 1 to 10. I had to do it as long as I can because it was the only thing that could calm me down.
By the time little me was done, my physics class had already gone half way and I was at my tenth four. Exhaling, I closed my jotter and tried to listen to my teacher explain Capacitors but when she started writing the formulas down, I spaced.
Lord help me.
"All students please report to the school auditorium. This is your Vice principal speaking. All students should be in the auditorium." The intercom buzzed.
I frowned at my locker, "What announcement does he want to give now?"
"Zac did say we were going to be held up for the rest of our period." Ciara managed as she chewed the snickers she had bitten.
"Manners Ciara." I muttered to her with a sigh.
"Shut up dweeb. So tell me," She finished the one in her mouth then continued, "how long are you going to arrange your locker?"
Groaning, I released another depressing sigh and slid my physics textbook carefully into its spot. There-*
"I always have the dying need to arrange thing or to the exact, put things in order." I explained. "I have an exact way of doing things. When it comes to my locker, I put in my books in alphabetical order on the top shelf and arrange my stationaries according to size at the bottom. I switch when I don't feel comfortable with the style.
"My wardrobe at home has a space for the plain white shirts, black and colored Tee. Complicated shirts are turned inwards before kept on a hanger, so as jeans and shorts. My shoes are arranged underneath according to most used to less used."
Ciara gasped then slammed my locker shut in front of me making me look at her, "I want to go to your room."
I rose a brow at her, "No."
She sneered and said, "OCD patient.'
"Hey!" I yelped as I smacked her on the head. "Don't call me that!"
"Sure." She pouted as she rubbed the spot I smacked.
"Hey!" A deep and familiar voice interrupted us and I turned to see Zac and Him.
"Zac! What are you doing here? I thought you had already gone to the auditorium." Ciara said.
"I did but Tommy here asked for a favor and what kind of friend would I be if I ignored him?"
Ciara narrowed her eyes at Tom and asked, "What favor?"
The moment his eyes fell on me, I knew it had something to do with tired old me. I gave a helpless grunt as I ran a hand through me hair, "What do you want?"
"Is that how you talk to a friend?" he smirked.
"Do I look like I've had much friends?" He replied flatly.
"You don't look like a lonely person?"
"I don't need friends to not be lonely. I am intrigued by people's existence and I spend time to observe. It might seem like a lonely thing to do but it is fun once you get the hang of it."
"So you can easily read off body language?"
"Everyone has a specific way of carrying themselves."
He hummed then said, "I like you. Am I lying?"
I stared at him for a moment and saw evidence that he was, indeed, not lying. No unnecessary hand, mouth or nose movement and he held eye contact. Smirking, I answered, "No, you are not."
He smiled at me but I just stared. My brain was clearly confused. Everything said by someone has a reason for being said. Tom has just outright told me he liked me but I can't fathom any reason why.
Does he just like me because I'm smart or he actually likes me? I would have know if he gave off any anything from those eyes or the way he smiled but nothing. His eyes held admiration and envy but his smile gave off a friendly aura. Tom was nothing like Zac who practically gave off everything he could or like Ciara and her teeth.
Tom was a fucking mystery.
"Hey, you guys are weird." Ciara muttered, knocking me out of my thought.
"Yeah. So damn straightforward. What the fuck is happening in front of me?" Zac added.
"Sorry to weird you out but I think Yale and I would be skipping school." Tom said to them as he reached down to grab my hand, making my heart skip a beat.
"Oh. No problem. I'll cover for you." Then he turned to Ciara and said, "Come on babe, let's go." Ciara probably just had the same reaction I did because she nodded numbly and followed after him without a word.
When they were gone, I turned to Tom, "Why are we missing the announcement?"
"Because," he started as he walked in the direction of the school main doors, "I have a place I want to show you."
"But I have to go for the announcement."
He glanced at me and said, "Just picture what I'm gonna show you as a replacement for the announcement."
That could work. I sighed and said, "Where are we going?"
"My favorite spot."
I narrowed my eye at him as we got out of the school building and went to look for his car. Just when I was about to ask him why, my phone rang. I got it out of my pocket and saw it was a text from Ciara. When did I even get her number?
C- Oh my guad!!! He called me babe!!!
I smiled, Idiot!
