Intro

I pushed my way through the black and white streets, clinging onto my purse as if my life depended on it. I took notice in all the small black and white details of people's clothing since I can't really see any colors. I took notice of everyone's smiles and tried to figure out which ones are fake and which are real.

Finally my parents bakery came into my vision. I looked at my reflection in the windows, wishing to see the colors. Wishing I could see the colors of the world around me. Wishing I could see my eyes that my parents told me were a beautiful blue. Wishing to see my parents wonderful  smiles in color. Too bad I live in a black and white world.

"Maman, papa, I'm here!" I called out.

"Marinette!" Sabine called back as she engulfed me in a tight hug. "I'm so sorry I didn't get to say goodbye this morning, I was very busy."

"It's ok." I smiled. "But I really need to get that one box and get to my apartment."

"Of course." Sabine exclaimed with a gentle smile. I trudged up the stairs to my old room where I spotted my last box with a small wooden box on top.

Grabbing the box in my small hands, I made my way out into the black and white city, but instead of paying attention to where I was going, I decided to text Alya; bad choice.

I bumped into a hard surface which sent me flying backwards and dropping my stuff everywhere. "Not again." I mumbled, pulling myself up from the dirty, crowded sidewalk only to come face to face with a beautiful stranger. He started to talk to me, but I couldn't pay attention to anything except the colors that surrounded me. Looking at the stranger, I saw striking green eyes, soft blonde hair, and I just couldn't stop staring. My trance ended once his hand landed on my bare shoulder.

"Are you ok?" He questioned.

"Do you see it too?" I asked, ignoring his question.

"See what?" He asked. His green eyes struck an emotion that could only be called concern.

"The colors." I stated. As the words left my mouth, the most beautiful laugh erupted through his soft pink lips, leaving me confused.

"Keep on dreaming." He laughed and began to walk away, but my stupid mind thought it was a good idea to grab his arm, stopping him from walking away. "Yes?" He questioned.

"Uh, um, w-what's your name?" I asked.

"Adrien Agreste." He stated, sticking his hand out.

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng." I said back, grabbing his hand and shaking it.

"Hopefully I'll see you again Mari." Adrien stated before walking off, leaving me to almost melt on the spot.

"What is so urgent?" Alya yelled once I opened the door to my apartment to let her in.

"Do you see it? Do you see the colors?" I questioned.

"No Mari, the only way to see the colors is to see your soul mate." Alya stated. She stared at me for a few more seconds before putting the pieces together. "Wait, you can see the colors?" She yelled.

"Yes!" I yelled back.

"Who?! Who is my besties soul mate?"

"Adrien Agreste!" I yelled with a huge smile. However her smile faded.

"In so sorry girl." She apologized, leaving me confused.

"Sorry? Why are you sorry?"

"Adrien Agreste is a famous model and is currently dating the very rich Chloe B." Alya sighed.

"Of course," I sighed, plopping onto my couch. "In find the one person who is literally meant for me and he's already taken."

"Well, maybe we could make him not taken?" Alya suggested.

"How? Kill Chloe?" I giggled.

"That would work, but I'd rather not go to jail yet." She laughed. "But maybe next time you see him you could use your best flirting skills to get him to fall for you."

"You know, that could work." I humored the blogger for a moment. "If I wasn't the most awkward human to exist."

"Sorry, I can't help you then." Alya shrugged. "Maybe just spend more time with him and he'll see how much of a wonderful person you are?"

"How do I find him again?" My eyes full of wonder, hope.

Alya's long tan digits tapped her face in thought for a moment before a large, knowing smile spread across her plump lips. "Don't worry, I've got you girl!" She exclaimed before leaving. Normally such a look from the blogger would absolutely terrify me, but for once, I felt complete. I knew whatever she was planning would work and I let a child - like grin flash across my face as a bubble of mirth escaped the creases.

I was finally seeing color and it felt wonderful.
