Surprise

It had been 6 months since Dan and Phil kissed at that sleazy bar in London and everything had been going smoothly.

"Phil, what do you think about moving to Brighton, by the sea? It's beautiful all year round and it'd be so close to Pj." Dan suggested as he slid into the lounge with his fuzzy socks. They had both just finished breakfast and we're ready to start their day by chilling in the lounge.

"Dan, you know I would love to do that but the we have the radio show and this legendary apartment. We couldn't leave London, the queen would never forgive us!" Phil joked as he flipped through the pages of a magazine that was left accidentally by their friend Louise.

"True but I just want to relax and not have to worry about the hustle and bustle that goes on outside our apartment." Dan explained.

"Like you ever leave the apartment." Phil sarcastically responded with a smirk.

"Hey! I leave the apartment. For y'know, milk.. and stuff." Dan tried to defend himself as he sat himself down next to Phil.

"You're cute but you're an awful liar." Phil said as the flipped the page of his magazine.

"I'm cute? Shut up!"

"Make me." Phil said, looking up from the magazine.

"Fine." Dan said before climbing on top of Phil and planting a huge kiss on his lips.

"I didn't mean like that you pleb!" Phil exclaimed as he shoved Dan off of him. Dan just laughed and pushed himself up.

"Want to watch some Formula1?" Dan suggested.

"I'd rather claw my eyeballs out with a rusty fork." Phil said. Dan laughed but turned the TV on anyway.

"Hey Phil, have you ever considered taking a trip to Iceland or somewhere majestically cool like that?" Dan asked.

"Of course. I've always thought Reykjavik would be a fun place to visit." Phil said apathetically as he flipped through the magazine some more.

"Why don't we take a spontaneous trip-"

"Dan, I have a surprise for you." Phil interrupted.

"I'm intrigued, what is it?" Dan asked curiously.

"If I told you it wouldn't be a secret you goofball!" Phil said sweetly.

"Okay... now you're just making me nervous." Dan said hesitantly.

"We're going out! Follow me." Phil demanded.

"Okay Phil." Dan said hesitantly as they walked out of the lounge. Phil started to put his shoes and coat on as Dan watched him, utterly confused at what was happening.

"Come on then, put your coat on!" Phil said before slipping two train tickets into his metallic silver space jacket. Phil then continued downstairs until they were both outside.

"You know I hate the cold, and the outside. Where the heck are you taking me?" Dan asked suspiciously.

"I can't tell you that!" Phil repeated and he dragged Dan into a taxi. They were then dropped off at a train station.

"Phil, where the hell are we going?" Dan said sternly this time.

"You'll see!!" Phil repeated impatiently as he dragged Dan through the station.

"Ok shut your eyes, you can't see where we're going or it won't be special. " Phil demanded. Dan closed his eyes and allowed Phil to lead him as they walked through the busy terminal. Phil walked Dan down a flight of stairs and into the waiting area for the train. He handed one of the workers their tickets and they boarded the train cautiously.

"Can I open my eyes now Phil?" Dan asked impatiently as they sat down on the train.

"Yeah it's alright. Just make sure not to look at the destination screen or anything." Phil smiled happily as Dan cringed at the sunlight in his eyes.

Dan and Phil spent the whole train ride talking, joking, and coming up with video ideas. As soon as the train slowed down Dan looked out the window.

"Are we really- did you- oh my god. We're in Manchester?!" Dan questioned.

"Yay! Spontaneous day trip! pretend that we're in Iceland." Phil suggested. Dan laughed and they both headed to the doors of the train. They got off and Phil motioned for Dan to follow him. Dan gave him a questioning look as he continued to follow Phil. They walked for about 15 minutes and Dan didn't question him. The whole way they talked about the old Manchester days and reminisced about all the crazy adventures they had back in 2010. Phil finally stopped when they reached the Manchester Wheel in Piccadilly Gardens.

"Hey Dan, Do you remember this?" Phil asked.

"How could I forget? It's where we met for the first time." Dan smiled.

"It's being torn down in a week. I wanted to come here for the last time. For..erm.. nostalgic purposes." Phil said sadly.

"It's sad it's being torn down. It's what started our whole friendship. It's pretty iconic." Dan admitted. Phil smiled, took a step towards Dan, and gently took hold of his hands.

"I love you Dan, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. If I'd have known my soulmate would be sitting with me on that wheel back in 2009, I would've kissed you much sooner. I can't believe we were lucky enough to meet and have the opportunity to become friends. A love like this is going to last forever and I can't believe I found you." Phil said as he got down on one knee, "So Daniel James Howell, will you marry me?"

"Yes." Dan said softly, tears streaming down his face. He pulled Phil up from the ground and kissed him passionately on the lips. "I love you." he breathed out once they separated.

"So, how about one last ride on the wheel?" Phil suggested, his face flushed from kiss.

"One last ride." Dan repeated under his breath.

AH. So that happened! Hope you liked the chapter, thanks for reading! My author's notes are always so boring. Potato baskets and cheese umbrellas for all.
