Fluorescence

Stars, eyes blinking
synchronized winking
to the beauty of darkness
the moon is a lustrous plate
gorgeous giant slate
adorning the vastness
of the summer night
in the enchanted bay
there, a magical array
of color and light
of green and yellow
blue and white
wavy flames in the shallow
waters in the island's shore
a heavenly elegant encore
angels' gowns soak
painting the beach
with their fluorescent cloak
waving ruffled skirts reach
with hands of foamy surges
where paradise verges.

Day 20

Media shows the fluorescent beach shore in Laja's Bay in Puerto Rico. Five of of six bioluminescent water bodies in the world are in the island's shores. It's a natural phenomenon caused by microscopic dinoflagellates reacting to the water movement.
