§» twelve

"Hey Casey! Have you seen James?"

"Hi Albus! Looking for him? I have, actually. He's on the Quidditch Pitch, if I'm not mistaken."

"Thank you!" He said, then looking at her once again. "Won't you ask me why am I looking for him?"

Cassidy shrugged. "Not today. I feel like it's something important, otherwise you wouldn't be asking me where he is."

"You are right, actually. Uh... thanks, Cassidy. A..." He started tilting his head. "Whole lot. Really."

She grinned. "No problem. Now go, Al. Look for him."

Albus Severus Potter looked at his brother's soon-to-be fake girlfriend, leaving her behind.

  "Albus!"

He turned, just to see his best friend, Scorpius Malfoy, smiling at him.

"Hi Scorpius!" He said excitedly.

"What happened?"

"Not much, just looking for James. Were you looking for me as well?"

Scorpius shrugged. "Maybe I was. Maybe I wasn't. Who knows?"

"You, for sure." Albus chuckled, hitting his arm playfully. His friend grinned, staying still.

"Want to go somewhere?" The Malfoy asked.

"Why not? I can talk to James later, anyway." He smiled as starting to blush, going outside with his best friend.

"Did Albus find you?" Cassidy asked James in the end of the day, resting at the Gryffindor Common Room.

"Was he even looking for me?" James simpered. "Poor boy can't even find his own brother."

"Why was he looking for you anyway? To tell you he's gay?" Fred said, receiving a death glare followed by a chuckle from James.

"He's not gay, Fred! He often asks me for advice to conquer a girl's love, but he's not owning it. I wonder who she is," He said, looking around.

"Albus said it was important," Casey said. "Any guesses?"

"Dear friend, my definition for 'important' is much different from his. It could have been anything."

"James? Oh, hey," Mason approached them.

"Hello Mason. What happened?"

"Your brother is looking for you. He told me to tell you he is currently waiting you next to the Quidditch Pitch. You're welcome," Mason was going to turn on his heels, but he seemed to remember something and went back.

"Also, some girls from Hufflepuff are making a campaign or something. They told me to give the Quidditch team those for y'all to hang it on the wall," He handled them a bunch of pamphlets.

"What are the odds, anyway? It's no big deal, right?" James asked himself.

"Come on, James! Will you stop loving your brother if he tells you 'oh, I'm gay'? Will you ignore him for the rest of your life? Really? If you do, don't talk to me ever again."

"It's not that, Casey. I'm worried about my family."

"Your family? Hell James, you don't even know if he is gay. How can you be worried about your family anyway? Can't you just listen to him?"

"That's not what he meant." Fred interrupted. "He's worried about the reaction. If they will accept that."

"I'm pretty sure they will," Casey said.

"How can you be so sure? You don't know our family like we do, as well as we don't know yours at all."

"All right, I get it. I cannot say a thing because I don't know your family well. But families are all the same. Sure, there is something different here and there, but the essence? Not different, much. Plus, this is your brother's problem, not yours, if that's even a problem. It is the way he is, it it his sexuality. Do I have to say we are just speculating here? No. We are being impolite, actually."

"Can someone look gay?" Mason asked, dragging all the attention to him. "I-I-I mean, just... making sure."

"Mason, I'm asking you something and please be honest with me. Do I look like a fucking Alpaca to you?" Fred asked, making Casey burst out laughing. "Really. It's the same."

"You can look like a feminine male. Or a masculine female. Or whatever, if that's what you want to know," James murmured.

"Yes, thanks for the really relevant information James."

"He asked us, I answered it. You can look at the stereotypes, but you will never be sure if someone is what you truly think they are, because every person is different and we should not just look at and recognize stereotypes. Everyone is different, and also the same. Damn." He sighed.

Cassidy started tilting her head. "Are you done?"

All the boys nodded, quietly looking at different places.

"Whatever was said here stays between us." James declared, not showing any emotion when he got up and exited the Common Room.

"James! Hey," Casey said, later on. She saw the look on his face, showing he was confused, making her frown. "What happened?"

He hesitated, looking at the landscape. The Black Lake reflected the moon, making it shine. It was a beautiful night, yet they were in one of Hogwarts many towers, his friend asking him what was taking a huge place on his mind. He sighed, not taking his eyes off the lake.

"Remember when we were talking about my brother being gay? More like a joke?" James didn't wait for Cassidy's response. He didn't want anyone to answer that, he wanted silence, just it and all. "He came out to me, he's bi."

"I'm glad he decided to tell you, to come out to you. This shows he trust you. But wait, why do you look pissed then? Your face is terrible."

"I'm worried about him. Not that his sexuality is something to worry about, but my family..."

"Might not accept it so well. I see. Look, that's something you should not worry about, your family will understand." Casey said quietly, moving to his side.

  "What if they don't?"

Damn, Fred was right. Extreme insecurity, Cassidy thought to herself.

"They will. If they don't anyway, I'm sure he'll figure it out."

  "But..."

"Hell, shut it James. Calm down, will you? Everything will be fine. It's not a big deal."

"For you," He scoffed. "He likes girls? Good. He likes boys too? Good. For me. For my family? Hm, not so sure."

  Casey looked around, impatient.

"So what? Is it worth it, to only worry about what could happen and not take action or let it be?"

James speechlessly stared at her, not really getting what she meant. He didn't feel it. James couldn't feel what Casey said.

"You know what? That's correct, Casey. I'll just let it be, and be here to my brother if he needs it. We should forget about it. Now, follow me."

They went to their Common Room, following to the boys' dormitory.

"Was I even supposed to be here?" She asked while James, opening the door, greeted Fred, Mason and Tedros.

"You were, Casey. Why would I bring you here if you weren't? And Fred, were are the drinks?"

"Drinks?"

"Yes! Here, James," Fred threw him a tin. Being the good chaser he was, he caught it in mid-air, opened it and took a drink.

"Do you want some?" He offered Casey, who was staring at him weirdly.

"Why not?" She rolled her eyes as James gave a can to her. She opened it, drinking the liquid inside it quickly and obviously regretted the act right after. "How did you manage to put Butterbeer in tins?!"

"Have you seen our Firewhisky stock yet?" Fred asked calmly.

"Those are brazilian beverage's cans. You're welcome," Mason grinned.

"'My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard' now sounds more like 'My drinks brings all the boys and girls to the dorm," She quoted.

"Damn right, it's better than yours!" James Sirius chuckled. "Before you ask us, we don't sell it, the professors would probably find out."

"Plus, we can have more to ourselves. Cheers!"

All the boys in there (plus Casey) grabbed a tin. "Cheers!"

Really crappy chapter, I'm sorry if it is... weird. I had this idea and couldn't not use it. So here it is! I'd just like to tell the characters to leave Albus alone and for him to live his life happily ugh, hope you enjoyed it anyway! I'm also sorry for taking so long to update, but I've been having to deal with some issues lately ;)
