The long game
I was sat on my bedroom crossed legged on the bed softly stroking the instrument I had taken from Van Statten's museum. I was still trying to get what the Dalek said out of my mind. 'unknown history' what did it mean by that?. It is true that I knew nothing about what happened to either one of my parents but I thought most of the children in the orphange didn't know about their parents. Why should mine be any different?. I suddenly hear a knock on my door I snap my head to the door.
"Come in" Rose sticks her head in and smiles at me.
"Hey come on the Doctor says we've landed" I smile and put the instrument down on my nightstand. The Doctor, Rose and myself step out of the TARDIS and look around it seems to be a station of some kind. I looked around and looked to Rose and the Doctor who had began explaining to Rose where we were.
"So, it's two hundred thousand, and it's a spaceship. No, wait a minute, space station, and er, go and try that gate over there. Off you go." Rose looks back to the Doctor and double-checked.
"Two hundred thousand?" The Doctor nodded.
"Two hundred thousand." I smirked at her as she opened the TARDIS door
"Adam? Out you come." Adam comes out and his jaw instantly drops I smirk even more at this my eyes turning rainbow colored slightly making the Doctor smile at me as I never really have full rainbow eyes. In fact ever since the Doctor and Rose became like a family for me my eyes have changed all types of colors but I have also shown more positive colors then I ever did when I lived in the orphanage. I snapped out my daydream when I heard Rose say. "Tell you what - let's try that gate. Come on!" I follow them the Doctor holding my hand leading me to a large viewing window. I turned to him and asked.
"So you wanna explain what we're looking at here?" I asked smirking, he smiled back at me.
"The Fourth great and bountiful Human Empire. And there it is, planet Earth at it's height. Covered with mega-cities, five moons, population ninety six billion. The hub of a galactic domain stretching across a million planets, a million species, with mankind right in the middle." I sigh in awe at the sight in front of me. I hear something fall and I look over to see that Adam has fainted. I chuckle and look to Rose saying teasingly.
"He's your boyfriend." Rose chuckles back retorting.
"Not anymore."
**********************************
We start walking around the main area of the space station we were on I look around not liking how quite it it.
"Come on, Adam. Open your mind. You're going to like this. Fantastic period of history. The human race at its most intelligent. Culture, art, politics. This era has got fine food, good manners." As the Doctor says this I am suddenly shoved aside by a tall man I fall to the floor Rose comes to my aid helping me up and then keeping a protective hand on my shoulder. Rose then looks at the Doctor raising her eyebrow.
"Fine cuisine?" I also raise my eyebrow adding.
"Well-mannered?" The Doctor frowns and looks around.
"My watch must be wrong." He pulls his sleeve up and looks at his watch. "No, it's fine. It's weird." Rose, still a hand on my shoulder smirks at the Doctor.
"That's what comes of showing off. Your history's not as good as you thought it was."
"My history's perfect." The Doctor retorted. I smirked at him and said.
"Well, obviously not." I see him smirk at me and roll his eyes playfully. Adam looks around and asks us.
"They're all human. What about the millions of planets, the millions of species? Where are they?" The Doctor looks around and raise his eye brow.
"Good question. Actually, that is a good question. Adam, me old mate, you must be starving." Adam shakes his head.
"No, I'm just a bit time sick." I walk up at this point.
"Speak for yourself mate I'm starving" The Doctor smiles at me grabbing my hand going to the front of the line asking the chef.
"Oi, mate - how much is a kronkburger?"
"Two credits twenty, sweetheart. Now join the queue." The Doctor patted down his jacket and walked away still holding my hand.
"Money. We need money. Let's use a cash-point." We find a machine that looks like a ATM machine. The Doctor flashes his sonic screwdriver over it and it spits out a plastic card he turns around and gives it to Adam. "There you go, pocket money. Don't spend it all on sweets." Adam looks at it and looks back to the Doctor.
"How does it work?" Doctor rolls his eyes and sighs.
"Go and find out. Stop nagging me. The thing is, Adam, time travel's like visiting Paris. You can't just read the guide book, you've got to throw yourself in. Eat the food, use the wrong verbs, get charged double and end up kissing complete strangers. Or is that just me?" This makes me laugh my eyes turning rainbow colored. "Stop asking questions, go and do it. Off you go, then. Your first date." I walk to Rose to go get some food I turn to him looking from Rose to him saying.
"She is so gonna smack you if you keep this up" I say smirking. We get into the line and I get a double kronkburger and what looked like a futuristic bottle of Pepsi. I sat down in front of Adam and started to eat the double kronkburger was basically a double cheeseburger. Rose walks up to us with a paper cup and a straw.
"Try this. It's called Zaphic. It's nice, it's like a, er, Slush Puppy." Adam looks at her and asks.
"What flavor?" I hold my hand out and Rose passes me the drink and a take a sips of it and grimace.
"It tastes a lot like beef" At hearing that Rose laughs at my face but Adam grimaces as well. He then sighs.
"It's like everything's gone, home, family, everything." Rose takes out her phone handing over to Adam.
"This helps. The Doctor gave it a bit of a top-up. Who's back home, your mum and dad?" He nods at this. "Phone them up." Adam raises an eye brow and even I wonder how that would work.
"But that's one hundred and ninety eight thousand years ago." Rose sighs.
"Honestly, try it. Go on." He opens the phone but then looks back up again stopping.
"Is there a code for planet Earth?" I groan in annoyance for the wait.
"Adam, can you please just dial!" Adam jumps to it but Rose looks at me and laughs covering her mouth with her hand.
"It's er. Hi. It's me. I've sort of gone travelling. I met these people and we've gone travelling together. But, er, I'm fine, and I'll call you later. Love you. Bye." He hangs up the phone. "That is so-" He was suddenly cut off when a loud alarm blares out making my eyes change to yellow. They turn back to purple when I heard the Doctor's voice.
"Oi! Mutt and Jeff! Effie! Over here!"We walk towards where the Doctor who led us to a large white room with a white seat in the center of a circle of people with hand mats. I asked the Doctor who everyone was he pointed to the woman in the dreadlocks saying that her name was Cathica and the woman was short brown hair was called Suki. Cathica looks around addressing the room
"Now, everybody behave. We have a management inspection. How do you want it, by the book?" The Doctor smiles and nods.
"Right from scratch, thanks." Cathica smiles and nods again looking around the room I walk around the edge trying to get the best view.
"Okay. So, ladies, gentlemen, multi-sex, undecided or robot,- my name is Cathica Santini Khadeni. That's Cathica with a C, in case you want to write to Floor five hundred praising me, and please do. Now, please feel free to ask any questions. The process of news gathering must be open, honest, and beyond bias. That's company policy." Suki suddenly cuts her off correcting her.
"Actually, it's the law." I smile at Suki and I see her smile back at me. Cathica snaps at Suki slightly glaring at her.
"Yes, thank you, Suki. Okay, keep it calm. Don't show off for the guests. Here we go." Cathica sits down on the chair. "And engage safety" The people around the room hold their hands over the hand mats and the lights suddenly turn on around the room making me jump and my eyes change color to yellow. Cathica clicks her fingers making her head open up making a doorway open up to her brain making my eyes turn green in disgust. The people then put their hands down on the mats. "And three, two, and spike." Suddenly a beam of light shines straight into her brain. I walk back to the Doctor, Rose and Adam I walk up the the Doctor and ask him.
"Doctor, what's happening here?" The Doctor looks down at me and then back to Cathica.
"Compressed information, streaming into her. Reports from every city, every country, every planet, and they all get packaged inside her head. She becomes part of the software. Her brain is the computer." After hearing this Rose asks.
"If it all goes through her, she must be a genius." The Doctor shakes his head.
"Nah, she wouldn't remember any of it. There's too much. Her head'd blow up. The brain's the processor. As soon as it closes, she forgets." I look at the people sitting around her and ask him.
"Okay, so what about all the other people?"
"They've all got tiny little chips in their head, connecting them to her and they transmit six hundred channels. Every single fact in the Empire beams out of this place. Now that's what I call power." As we continue to watch Rose walks up to Adam placing a hand on his back asking.
"Do you want to get out?" He shakes his head.
"No. No, this technology, it's amazing." I shake my head frowning.
"This technology's wrong. "I deadpan. Rose looks at me and asks.
"Trouble?" I feel hand on my shoulder and I look up to see the Doctor he smirks and me then to Rose.
"Oh, yeah." Suddenly the beam stops and Cathica sits up and glares at Suki exclaiming.
"Come off it, Suki. I wasn't even halfway. What was that for?" Suki rubs her hands together.
"Sorry. It must've been a glitch." The computer yells out.
"Promotion." Cathica crosses her fingers and mutters really quickly.
"Come on. This is it. Come on. Oh God, make it me. Come on, say my name, say my name, say my name." I raise my eye brow and turn to the Doctor.
"I could be wrong but I think she really wants that promotion" At hearing this the Doctor smiles trying not to laugh to loudly. The computer then reveals the promotion.
"Promotion for Suki Macrae Cantrell. Please proceed to Floor five hundred." Suki stands up in shock.
"I don't believe it. Floor five hundred."
"How the hell did you manage that? I'm above you." Suki shrugged.
"I don't know. I just applied on the off chance and they've said yes." Cathica crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.
"That's so not fair. I've been applying to Floor five hundred for three years." She pouted. Rose looked at the Doctor and asked.
"What's Floor five hundred?"
"The walls are made of gold." The Doctor answers in a serious tone.
********************************
We are stood outside of the elavator with Suki and Cathica, Suki has her bags with her and she turns to Cathica.
"Cathica, I'm going to miss you." She then turns to the Doctor and smiles. "Floor five hundred, thank you." The Doctor frowned at this.
"I didn't do anything." Suki smiled and shrugged.
"Well, you're my lucky charm."
"All right. I'll hug anyone." When Suki had let go of the Doctor I gave her a hug whilst I hugged her I whispered.
"Be careful up there" I as she moved away my eyes were purple meaning that I was serious. She nodded slightly meaning she understood what I was saying. She then gasped grabbing her bag.
"Oh, my God, I've got to go. I can't keep them waiting. I'm sorry. Say goodbye to Steve for me. Bye!" The lift door slams shut on her face as we were waving goodbye when we stopped Cathica crossed her arms.
"Good riddance." I raised an eye brow to her.
"What's up with you? She could be back soon" Cathica slightly frowned at me.
"No she won't. Once you go to Floor five hundred you never come back." I looked towards the Doctor my eyes turning slightly orange in worry. We follow Cathica through the cafeteria the Doctor questioning her.
"Have you ever been up there?" She seemed to roll her eyes.
"I can't. You need a key for the lift, and you only get a key with promotion. No one gets to five hundred except for the chosen few."
*******************************
We were now in the news room where Suki had been promoted the Doctor was sat on the seat and I was leaning on the back of it where as Rose was stood near the railing. Cathica was slightly pacing as she talked to us.
"Look, they only give us twenty minutes maintenance. Can't you give it a rest?" However, the Doctor would not stop asking her questions.
"But you've never been to another floor? Not even one floor down?" Cathica again started to pace as she answered his question.
"I went to floor sixteen when I first arrived. That's medical. That's when I got my head done, and then I came straight here. Satellite Five, you work, eat and sleep on the same floor. That's it, that's all." She then glanced at us and asked more as a statement. "You're not management, are you." I rolled my eyes.
"Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner!" I exclaim making both the Doctor and Rose chuckle at my antics. Cathica glares at me.
"Yeah, well, whatever it is, don't involve me. I don't know anything." Doctor raised his eye brow and asked.
"Don't you even ask?"
"Well, why would I?" I looked at like she was crazy.
"Well, for starters your a journalist. Isn't that kinda in your job description?" The Doctor pointed towards me nodding.
"Exactly and why's all the crew human?" Cathica looked at him confused.
"What's that got to do with anything?"
"There's no aliens on board. Why?"
"I don't know. No real reason. They're not banned or anything." I moved from the seat to the side of the Doctor and then asked her.
"Then where are they?" Cathica began pacing around again.
"I suppose immigration's tightened up. It's had to, what with all the threats."
"What threats?" The Doctor asked.
"I don't know all of them. Usual stuff. And the price of space warp doubled so that kept the visitors away. Oh, and the government on Chavic Five's collapsed, so that lot stopped coming, you see. Just lots of little reasons, that's all."
"Adding up to one great big fact, and you didn't even notice."
"Doctor, I think if there was any kind of conspiracy, Satellite Five would have seen it. We see everything." I raised my eyebrow at her.
"He can see better. This society's the wrong shape, even the technology." She looked at me in shock.
"It's cutting edge."
"It's backwards. There's a great big door in your head. You should've chucked this out years ago." The Doctor countered, Rose then looks towards the Doctor.
"So, what do you think's going on?" I looked towards him waiting for him to answer.
"It's not just this space station, it's the whole attitude. It's the way people think. The great and bountiful Human Empire's stunted. Something's holding it back." Cathica rolled her eyes at this.
"And how would you know?"
"Trust me, humanity's been set back about ninety years. When did Satellite Five start broadcasting?" Cathica swallowed a lump in her throat her face going white.
"Ninety one years ago."
*******************************
I watched as the Doctor was messing around trying to open a pair of double doors Cathica was on edge looking around and pacing.
"We are so going to get in trouble. You're not allowed to touch the mainframe. You're going to get told off." I rolled my eyes at how annoying she was being.
"Effie, tell her to button it." I turn to Cathica with an innocent smile.
"Button it" I then turn back to the Doctor.
"You can't just vandalise the place. Someone's going to notice!" The Doctor finally manages to get the doors open reveling tonnes of wires. I watch in amazement as the Doctor messes around with the wires with his sonic screwdriver. "This is nothing to do with me. I'm going back to work." She starts to walk away from us the Doctor yelling to her.
"Go on, then. See you!" I take a relaxing deep breath but groan in annoyance when she suddenly comes back.
"I can't just leave you, can I!" Rose sighs clearly as annoyed as I am she turns to Cathica.
"If you want to be useful, get them to turn the heating down. It's boiling. What's wrong with this place? Can't they do something about it?" Cathica looks towards Rose answering.
"I don't know. We keep asking. Something to do with the turbine."
"Something to do with the turbine." The Doctor mutters mockingly.
"Well, I don't know!" Cathica snaps angrily.
"Exactly. I give up on you, Cathica. Now, Rose. Look at Rose. Rose is asking the right kind of question." I give Rose a look of praise which she rolls her eyes playfully. "Why is it so hot?" Cathica looks at him in confusion.
"One minutes you're worried about the Empire and the next it's the central heating!" I look at her seriously and retort.
"Well, never underestimate plumbing. Plumbing's very important." The Doctor pulls a monitor out of the cupboard with strange schematics on.
"Here we go. Satellite Five, pipes and plumbing. Look at the layout." Cathica grabs the monitor looking closely at the diagram.
"This is ridiculous. You've got access to the computer's core. You can look at the archive, the news, the stock exchange and you're looking at pipes?" I notice something strange with the pipes.
"But, correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't something seem wrong?" Cathica glances at me before looking back at the screen.
"I suppose." Rose looks more closely at the screen.
"Why, what is it?" Cathica points to the schematics.
"The ventilation system. Cooling ducts, ice filters, all working flat out channelling massive amounts of heat down." Then the Doctor pointed at the top of the screen.
" All the way from the top." I looked to Rose.
"Floor five hundred." I hear her say.
"Huh, what a coincidence" I mutter. The Doctor adds to this conversation.
"Something up there is generating tons and tons of heat."
"Well, I don't know about you, but I feel like I'm missing out on a party. It's all going on upstairs. Fancy a trip?" Rose asks me and the Doctor.
"You can't. You need a key." Cathica argues but the Doctor just starts typing on the screen.
"Keys are just codes, and I've got the codes right here. Here we go. Override two one five point nine." The monitor shows a code on the screen Cathica looking at the screen in shock.
"How come it's given you the code?" I look at the screen and say towards the monitor.
"Someone up there must like him."
***************************************
We enter the lift and Cathica stays on the outside Rose waves her hand trying to get her inside.
"Come on. Come with us." Cathica shuck her head.
"No way." I smile innocently again.
"Bye!" I yell making the Doctor smile chucking under his breath. Cathica glares at us.
"Well, don't mention my name. When you get in trouble, just don't involve me." She then leaves the Doctor looks from me to Rose.
"That's her gone. Adam's given up. Looks like it's just you two and me." I smile as does Rose I grab a hold of his hand as Rose does. I look at them both and with determination in my eyes say.
"Let's do this"
***************************
As we exit the lift I shiver as I feel the freezing cold hit me. I look around and see that the walls are covered in ice and the floor is covered in snow. I hear the Doctor from the side of me.
"The walls are not made of gold. You two should go back downstairs." Rose walks forward with me.
"Tough." Rose says as I say.
"Yeah not happening" I can't stop shaking from the cold when I suddenly feel a huge weight on my shoulders I turn to see the Doctor had placed his leather jacket on me making me feel warmer. I place my arms through the sleeves and follow them into a small room where a man with pale white skin and white hair.
"I started without you. This is fascinating. Satellite Five contains every piece of information within the Fourth Great and Bountiful Human Empire. Birth certificates, shopping habits, bank statements, but you three, you don't exist. Not a trace. No birth, no job, not the slightest kiss. How can you walk through the world and not leave a single footprint?" I turn and gasp seeing Suki sat at one of the computers. Rose runs up to her grabbing her arm.
"Suki. Suki! Hello? Can you hear me? Suki? What have you done to her?" The Doctor glared at the man answering Rose.
"I think she's dead." I look to the Doctor my eyes changing color to orange saying.
"But she's working. How can she be dead if she's working" The Doctor still keeps his eyes on the man but answers me.
"They've all got chips in their head, and the chips keep going, like puppets." My eyes go green feeling sick and resisting the urge to be sick. The man then smiles manically.
"Oh! You're full of information. But it's only fair we get some information back, because apparently, you're no one. It's so rare not to know something. Who are you?" The Doctor just smiles and says.
"It doesn't matter, because we're off. Nice to meet you. Come on." As I turn to leave a frozen worker grabs me by my arms turning me around I try to fight back my eyes bright orange now but their grips were to strong. The man asks again.
"Tell me who you are." I look to see Rose and the Doctor are both restrained as well.
"Since that information's keeping us alive, I'm hardly going to say, am I." The man sighs and then smirks.
"Well, perhaps my Editor in Chief can convince you otherwise." I find my voice and then speak up asking.
"And who's that?" The man looks at me and walks towards me menacingly when he gets to me he says in a hushed voice.
"It may interest you to know that this is not the Fourth Great and Bountiful Human Empire. In fact, it's not actually human at all. It's merely a place where humans happen to live." I suddenly hear a growl and a snarl from somewhere in the room sounding almost like it was correcting the man. "Yeah. Yeah, sorry. It's a place where humans are allowed to live by kind permission of my client." He clicks his fingers and points up towards a giant lump hanging from the ceiling, with a large amount of teeth on the end as a mouth. I was now beyond terrified my eyes becoming a brighter orange.
"You mean that thing's in charge of Satellite Five?" The Doctor asks in shock.
"That thing, as you put it, is in charge of the human race. For almost a hundred years, mankind has been shaped and guided, his knowledge and ambition strictly controlled by it's broadcast news, edited by my superior, your master, and humanity's guiding light, the mighty Jagrafess of the Holy Hadrojassic Maxarodenfoe. I call him Max." I look up and mutter out in a weak voice.
"Nice to meet you Max". We have been placed in heavy sets of manacles directly below the Jagrafess as the man, who we now know is called the Editor talks to us.
"Create a climate of fear and it's easy to keep the borders closed. It's just a matter of emphasis. The right word in the right broadcast repeated often enough can destabilise an economy, invent an enemy, change a vote." Rose glares at the Editor.
"So all the people on Earth are like, slaves." The Editor thinks for a second then asks.
"Well, now, there's an interesting point. Is a slave a slave if he doesn't know he's enslaved?" I give the Editor a serious look my eyes purple.
"Yes." I answer. The Editor gives me an exasperatted look moving towards me.
"Oh. I was hoping for a philosophical debate. Is that all I'm going to get? Yes?"
"Yes." I deadpanned.
"You're no fun." I glared at him my eyes turning red.
"Let me out of these manacles. You'll find out how much fun I am." The Doctor growls out.
"Oh, he's tough, isn't he. But, come on. Isn't it a great system? You've got to admire it, just a little bit."
"You can't hide something on this scale. Somebody must have noticed." Rose asked making a good point.
"From time to time, someone, yes, but the computer chip system allows me to see inside their brains. I can see the smallest doubt and crush it." He then carries on. "Then they just carry on, living the life, strutting about downstairs and all over the surface of the Earth like they're so individual, when of course, they're not. They're just cattle. In that respect, the Jagrafess hasn't changed a thing." I spot Cathica in a reflection behind the Editor's back I slyly nudge the Doctor to make sure he noticed. Rose asks the Editor helping me by distracting him.
"What about you? You're not a Jagrabelly-"
"Jagrafess." Both me and the Doctor correct her.
"Jagrafess. You're not a Jagrafess. You're human."
"Yeah, well, simply being human doesn't pay very well."
"But you couldn't have done this all on your own." Rose makes her point.
"No. I represent a consortium of banks. Money prefers a long-term investment. Also, the Jagrafess needed a little hand to install himself." The Doctor looks up asking.
"No wonder, a creature that size. What's his life span?"
"Three thousand years." I take a sharp breath in at hearing that.
"That's one hell of a metabolism generating all that heat. That's why Satellite Five's so hot. You pump it out of the creature, channel it downstairs. Jagrafess stays cool, it stays alive. Satellite Five is one great big life support system." The Editor paces in front of us looking at each of us before saying.
"But that's why you're so dangerous. Knowledge is power, but you remain unknown. Who are you?" The Editor snaps his fingers and I suddenly feel shocks zap into my body making my eyes turn white from the pain.
"Leave them alone. I'm the Doctor, she's Rose Tyler and she's Effie Garnet. We're nothing, we're just wandering."
"Tell me who you are!" I glare at him my eyes still white from the pain.
"He just said!"
"Yes, but who do you work for? Who sent you? Who knows about us? Who exactly-" He suddenly stops and I hear the Jagrafess growl. "Time Lord." My eyes turn orange how did he know that?.
"What?" The editor smiles evilly now almost laughing to himself.
"Oh, yes. The last of the Time Lords in his travelling machine." He makes his way over to Rose. "Oh, with his little human girl from long ago" He then looks to me. "And the girl who he adopted but knows little to nothing about, even she doesn't know her own history" I glare at him but my eyes turn blue instead of red after him hitting a sore subject. I hear the Doctor growl in anger at this snapping.
"You don't know what you're talking about."
"Time travel." The Doctor tries to argue by saying.
"Someone's been telling you lies."
"Young master Adam Mitchell?" The Editor snaps his fingers and brings up a video of Adam with a doorway into his brain a beam going into his brain. My eyes go green and red and orange.
"That idiot" I hiss out the Doctor seems to be just as angry as I am.
"What the hell's he done? What the hell's he gone and done? They're reading his mind. He's telling them everything."
"And through him, I know everything about you. Every piece of information in his head is now mine. And you have infinite knowledge, Doctor. The Human Empire is tiny compared to what you've seen in your T A R D I S. Tardis."
"Well, you'll never get your hands on it. I'll die first." The Editor shrugs.
"Die all you like. I don't need you. I've got the key." He sees the key wrapped around my neck and grabs the chain yanking it off my neck my eyes turn blood red at this as I try to break the manacles.
"You and your boyfriends!" The Doctor yells at Rose.
"Today, we are the headlines. We can rewrite history. We could prevent mankind from ever developing."
"And no one's going to stop you because you've bred a human race that doesn't bother to ask questions. Stupid little slaves, believing every lie. They'll just trot right into the slaughter house if they're told it's made of gold." Suddenly, the room starts shaking as the Editor looks around asking the workers.
"What's happening?" He pulls up a video and we see Cathica when we see this Rose points it out happy to see her and the Doctor explains.
"And she's thinking. She's using what she knows. Everything I told her about Satellite Five. The pipes, the filters, she's reversing it. Look at that." I look up to see the icicles above us are starting to melt.
"It's getting hot." I say. The consoles suddenly explode and all of the workers drop dead alarms start ringing out and Rose's manacles malfunction letting her go. She runs to me and opens the Doctor's jacket still around me grabbing the sonic screwdriver. She releases me and as soon as I'm released I go up the Editor and kick him inbetween the legs making him collapse. I grab my key from his hand and run back to an impressed looking Rose and an amused Doctor who yells to the Editor.
"Oi, mate, want to bank on a certainty? Massive heat in a massive body, massive bang. See you in the headlines!"
*******************************************
"We're just going to go. I hate tidying up. Too many questions. You'll manage." Cathica shakes her head.
"You'll have to stay and explain it. No one's going to believe me." I smile at her kindly.
"Don't worry Cathica after everything that's happened I think a lot of people will start to believe a lot of things" The Doctor nods at me adding in.
"The human race should accelerate. All back to normal." Cathica looks to Adam asking the Doctor.
"What about your friend?" My eyes turn red and the Doctor looks at him darkly.
"He's not my friend." He then heads towards him Rose tries to stop him.
"Now, don't" I place my hand in hers.
"Don't bother Rose he had this coming to him" Rose sighs but doesn't argue with me. I heard Adam.
"I'm all right now. Much better. And I've got the key. Look, it's. It all worked out for the best, didn't it? You know, it's not actually my fault, because you were in charge." The Doctor pushes Adam into the TARDIS and he spins him around after myself and Rose get in and he pushes him out again. We end up in a cozy looking home Adam looks around.
"It's my house. I'm home! Oh, my God, I'm home! Blimey. I thought you were going to chuck me out of an airlock." The Doctor still looks at him darkly asks him.
"Is there something else you want to tell me?"
"No. What do you mean?" The Doctor picks up the answering machine.
"The archive of Satellite Five. One second of that message could've changed the world." The Doctor flashes his sonic screwdriver at the telephone and it explodes. "That's it, then. See you."
"How do you mean, see you?"
"I think he means as in goodbye. Don't know how else he could of meant it" I say angrily my eyes red.
"But what about me? You can't just go. I've got my head. I've got a chip type two. My head opens."
"What, like this?" The Doctor asks then clicks his fingers.
"Don't." Adam then closes his head.
"Don't do what?" I ask innocently before clicking.
"Stop it!" Rose then steps in.
"All right now, Doctor, Effie, that's enough. Stop it." Adam smiles up thankfully at Rose.
"Thank you." Rose then clicks her fingers.
"Sorry, I couldn't resist." Adam then closes his head.
"The whole of history could have changed because of you."
"I just wanted to help."
"You were helping yourself."
"And I'm sorry. I've said I'm sorry, and I am, I really am, but you can't just leave me like this."
