INT. HALLWAY – LATER

Travis eagerly waits by a classroom when Nelson shows up.

TRAVIS

I found the perfect place to hide the key. Can you guess where?

NELSON

Hopefully, not someplace I'll regret.

Travis holds up his phone.

TRAVIS

Here. In a snap-on secret compartment that is so inconspicuous no one will notice. All I have to do is slide it off.

He tries to take it off. It doesn't budge. He tries it again, but it's sealed shut.

TRAVIS (CONT'D)

Come on.

He bangs it against the wall. The compartment pops off, and the key hits the floor, but his phone is destroyed. Nelson assesses Travis's cracked screen.

NELSON

Wouldn't it have been easier to hide it in the phone case?

TRAVIS

Maybe I'll remember that when I buy a new phone.

NELSON

Just keep it simple next time.

Nelson enters the class.

TRAVIS

I thought that was simple.
