ACT TWO

SCENE G

FADE IN:

EXT. WOODS – CONTINUOUS

Travis, Sage, Nelson, and Halley continue running through the woods.

NELSON

Everyone stop!

They stop running. Halley hops off of Nelson's back. Travis hides the mysterious object behind his back. Sage is furious.

NELSON (CONT'D)

Whatever this is, it doesn't belong to us. We should just put it back where we found it.

HALLEY

The real owner might come back looking for it.

SAGE

We already found the real owner. Me.

She launches at Travis trying to take it from him.

NELSON

Sage control yourself.

HALLEY

There's only one way to settle this.

EXT. WOODS – MOMENTS LATER

Sage and Travis arm wrestle on a tree stump, neither of them yielding. While no one's watching, Halley discreetly picks up the object, hides it behind her back and retreats into the woods.

EXT. WOODS – MOMENTS LATER

Halley returns empty-handed. Sage has Travis on his stomach in a submission hold. Travis taps out.

TRAVIS

Okay! You win!

Sage gets off him.

SAGE

Where's my trophy?

Halley is nervous now.

HALLEY

I hid it.

Sage stomps over to her.

SAGE

Well, un-hide it.

HALLEY

No. This thing is tearing us apart. And you know what I spy? My hat no longer on my head. That thing stays where it is.

SAGE

(beat) You should run now.

Halley screams as Sage charges after her. Travis and Nelson race after them.

Halley reaches the place where she buried the object and digs it up with her hands. They all gather around her.

HALLEY

There it is. Are you happy now?

SAGE

Very.

She takes it and puts it in her pocket, her back to the camera so we can't see what it is.

A twig snaps behind them. They hush as footsteps draw near. A man with thick, wiry hair and mad eyes steps out from behind a tree.

WILD MAN

That's mine.

They scream and run away.
