EXT. DUPLEX HIGH PARKING LOT - DAY

Halley, Travis, Nelson, and Sage enter the parking lot.

HALLEY

Are you guys ready for the CombatStars concert tonight?

Wynter enters fanning herself with a pair of tickets.

WYNTER

Oh, you mean the concert that I've got front row seats for?

She holds them up in their faces. Sage bats them away.

HALLEY

Who needs front row tickets when you have these?

She takes out binoculars.

WYNTER

Well, while you three are fighting over those Patrick won't be able to keep his eyes off me. I bet he'll even throw me his signature cardigan.

NELSON

Why would anyone want someone's sweaty cardigan?

Sage is kneeling, scraping up gum with a stick.

SAGE

Some people are weird like that.

TRAVIS

We know.

Dru drives up as a ding sound comes from his car.

IFIND-A-FRIEND

Wynter located.

DRU

Sup, guys?

TRAVIS

What was that?

DRU

It's the iFind-A-Friend app. It locates my contacts by tracking their phones. I wonder what would happen if one of them decided to go to the moon. Would it take me to the moon?

WYNTER

Enough chitchat. Let's hit the road. Don't want to keep Patrick waiting.

She waits. After a moment of silence, she gives Dru a look.

WYNTER (CONT'D)

The door won't open itself.

DRU

Oh.

He gets out of the car, opens Wynter's door then hops back in.

DRU

See you guys at the concert!

They drive off.

HALLEY

Hey, we should carpool. That way we could all go together.

NELSON

I'll drive. My car's right over there.

They follow Nelson to his unconventionally remodeled car. The doors, roof, and hood are all different colors.

SAGE

(nonchalant) I dig it.

TRAVIS

But is it safe?

NELSON

It's perfectly safe. I put it together myself.

TRAVIS

That's what I was afraid of.

HALLEY

CombatStars here we come!

She grabs the passenger's door handle. It breaks off in her hand. She stares at it in her palm, horrified.

NELSON

The glue hasn't finished setting yet.

He takes it then gets in on the driver's side and shoves Halley's door open. The rest of them carefully pile in.
