INT. PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE – NEXT DAY

Halley, Sage, and Travis stand before Principal Peters. Halley slaps a check on his desk.

PRINCIPAL PETERS

Where did you get this?

HALLEY

We're not the only ones who enjoy art.

SAGE

When do we get our classes back?

PRINCIPAL PETERS

You made a great effort, and I truly appreciate it, but it isn't enough.

HALLEY

But it's a start, right?

PRINCIPAL PETERS

I wish I could say so, but we're going to need a lot more than that. Budget cuts were heavy this year. Sadly, that means we'll suffer a lot of losses. Including the art programs.

Nelson and Tomas Stride enter.

TOMAS

I might be able to help with that.

PRINCIPAL PETERS

And you are?

TOMAS

A big fan of art. Consider this a donation.

Tomas hands Principal Peters another check. Travis peeks at it.

TRAVIS

Maybe we should have charged that at the door.

Principal Peters stands and shakes his hand.

PRINCIPAL PETERS

Thank you. This is more than enough to fund our art programs.

TOMAS

It's my honor. And if it's okay with you, I'd like to set up a foundation to ensure that all of your art students will always have a class to go to. I'll be in touch.

Tomas exits.

PRINCIPAL PETERS

You kids have done an extraordinary job. I am very grateful for the lengths you've taken to stand up for what you believe in. Is there anything I can do to extend my gratitude?

HALLEY

Can we have a moment?

They form a huddle. Sage picks at a lock of Halley's hair.

HALLEY (CONT'D)

Sage...

Sage removes her hand from her hair. They break up the huddle.
