Chapter 26

This chapter is really fast and messy and shitty and I apologize

~~

I walked into school nervously. I didn't want to see Eliza. Part of me expected her to already be the size of a whale or something. I had skipped the first couple of hours and was just now arriving.

"Gee, you need to come here," Bert said, pulling me with him.

I frowned in confusion as we went through the empty hallways. I heard muffled yelling as we neared one of the women's restrooms in an empty hall.

"Lindsey followed Eliza around and shoved her into the bathroom and is forcing her to take a pregnancy test," Bert explained.

My eyes widened as I went to open the door but found it was locked.

"Pee on the goddamn stick you bitch!" I heard Lindsey scream.

"Get the fuck off me!" Eliza yelled.

Luckily all the classes in this hall had gone to lunch so nobody could hear what was going on.

"I saw you drinking all that water! I know you need to piss!" Lindsey yelled.

"How long have they been in there?" I asked.

"A little over five minutes," Bert said.

I knocked on the door. "Lindsey?"

"Princess!" Eliza exclaimed. "Can you tell Lindsey to let mommy out of the bathroom?"

"You're not my mommy," I denied.

I heard some small screams and grunting.

"You bitch!" Lindsey screamed.

The door opened and she threw a stick at me. I jumped back in disgust and looked down at it.

It was negative.

"You bitch!" I yelled.

"Don't talk to mommy like that," Eliza said, stepping beside Lindsey and crossing her arms.

"You're not my fucking mommy!" I exclaimed. "I hate you!"

I stormed away, hearing her catch up to me while Bert and Lindsey stayed behind and talked.

"Baby, please!" Eliza exclaimed.

She pulled my arm to turn me around, her eyes full of tears.

"Don't leave me," Eliza begged, her bottom lip quivering. "I need you. I can't live without you. I may not be pregnant now but I can be. Imagine it, we can start a happy family together, something that you can't do with Frank."

"Why'd you lie?" I asked quietly.

"How else was I supposed to keep you?" Eliza asked. "I love you but you don't love me. It was my last hope."

I pulled away from her, running down the hallway while I cried tears of joy. I was so relieved I ran right out of the school to the car, driving to Frank's house. I collapsed inside the house, smiling happily.

"Daddy! Daddy!" I shouted, knowing that he didn't go to work today.

I ran into the family room, freezing in my spot when I saw Frank sitting on the adjacent couch from Jamia. Jamia looked horrified as she stared at me.

"He's the one you were cheating on me with?!" She cried. "Oh I should've known!"

Frank patted the spot on the couch next to him and I sat down nervously.

"Jamia, you know how your shirt is grey?" Frank asked and Jamia nodded.

I felt him reach over to hold my hand and everything burst into bright, bold colors.

"Well, it's not actually grey, it's orange," Frank said.

"My shirt isn't a fruit!" Jamia exclaimed.

She was sobbing, looking like a complete mess. Her hair was messy, eyes red and puffy, wearing Frank's shirt and a pair of sweatpants. She didn't wear any makeup and her once happy glow was gone.

"Well, fuck this is hard to explain," Frank muttered. "Okay, so you see everything in black and white but I don't. At least, not when I'm with Gee. Whenever you're touching your soulmate you can see the colors."

Jamia shook her head. "But we're soulmates!"

"I'm sorry," I whispered.

"One day you'll meet someone you see colors with too," Frank said. "You two can live happily ever after."

"I don't wanna, I wanna be with you," Jamia said.

"I'm sorry but i'm going to be with Gee," Frank said.

Jamia shook her head, her body shaking with tears.

"There's someone out there even better for you than me," Frank said. "Someone who can make you even happier."

"Gee makes you happier? I don't make you happy?" Jamia questioned.

"No! Of course not," Frank denied.

I looked at him with furrowed eyebrows. "So you aren't happier with me?"

"Of course I am," Frank said to me, seeing Jamia's hurt face. "You know what, Jamia, you will find someone who will completely change your world. They'll show you everything that no one else can see. They'll show you something so beautiful and great and your whole life will just be changed for the better. Trust me, someone out there is meant for you, someone out there is your soulmate that you're destined to be with."

Jamia cried, shaking her head. She came forward and hugged Frank tight, begging for him not to leave her. Frank pried her arms off, leaving her on the floor to cry.

"I'm sorry," Frank whispered. "I didn't mean for things to turn out this way."

We turned and left, hearing Jamia's sobbing get quieter as we walked further away. We got into my car and drove away. Neither of us spoke from the solemn scene that we just experienced. Music played quietly through the speakers and I saw Frank wipe away a few tears.

"Why did you...why did you come over?" Frank asked.

"Eliza isn't pregnant," I said. "She lied to try and keep me, she tested negative."

A large smile broke out on his face. "Seriously?!"

I nodded my head and he let out a relieved laugh.

"Holy shit, that's great!" He exclaimed, all sadness from before seemingly gone.

"So, there's no complications now?" I asked.

Frank shook his head. "It's just you and I now, baby. We can be together."

I pulled over into a parking lot, giggling happily as I leaned over and wrapped my arms around him. I showered him in kisses, blushing like crazy. His arms wrapped around my waist and pulled over into his lap to straddle his hips. Frank kissed me happily, holding my body close to his.

"Let's get married," he whispered suddenly.

I pulled away, raising my eyebrows in shock. "W-what?"

"I mean, why not?" Frank asked. "We're soulmates."

"But...everything just ended," I said. "Your wedding was only two days ago."

"I know it's fast, baby," Frank said, caressing my cheek gently. "But what's stopping us? We're both adults, we're destined to be together."

I gave him a soft smile, kissing his nose. "I don't know, daddy."

I felt his hand rub my back slowly.

"It's okay, sweetheart," Frank said. "You can just think about it. All I know is that I wanna live the rest of my life with you."

"I wanna spend the rest of my life with you too," I said.

"I don't wanna spend half a year planning out a full wedding, I just want to be with you right now," Frank said. "I just love you so much and I want to be with you forever. We're meant to be together, what's stopping us?"

I thought about it and a large grin spread across my face.

"Let's do it," I said.

"Yeah?" He asked.

I nodded quickly and he smiled, giving me a big kiss. He kissed my cheek and I giggled happily.

"I love you so much, baby," he muttered.

"I love you too, daddy," I repeated.

"C'mon, babydoll, let's go," Frank said. "The courthouse is, like, twenty minutes from here."

We switched seats so he was driving and I sat shotgun.

"Daddy, what's your favorite color?" I asked as we drove.

"I would have to say...purple," he answered. "I really like purple. What about you, Princess?"

"Hazel," I said. "Just like the color of your eyes."

He smiled, reaching over to hold my hand. We pulled into the courtroom parking lot and I could feel my heart fluttering with excitement. There was no nervousness like Frank had said he felt at his wedding, this was right. This was how it was meant to be.

The two of us got married legally. It all felt like only ten minutes. The two of us hurried out happily. We laughed as we got into the car and he leaned over to kiss me.

"Hello, Mr. Iero-Way," I said, giggling happily.

"Hi, Mr. Iero-Way," Frank repeated.

"Let's go back to my house, I wanna tell everyone about my oh so great new husband," I said.

Frank smiled and nodded. We hurried back to my house, seeing that my mom and grandma were home.

"We got married!" I shouted, dropping down documents onto the table.

My mom looked shocked and my grandma looked ecstatic. Frank and I had our arms wrapped around each other as I leaned up to kiss his cheek.

"That's amazing! I'm so proud of you!" My grandma exclaimed, getting up to hug us both.

"No, mom, that isn't amazing," my mom denied. "Gee, you're just a kid. You're moving too fast."

"Why waste time?" My grandma asked. "They're meant to be, why should they have to wait to get married?"

"Well, what are you gonna do?" My mom asked. "Just move in with him and finish high school?"

I gasped as I looked up at him happily. "That sounds like a perfect plan!"

"Definitely," Frank agreed, leaning over to kiss my forehead

"But--"

"Hush, Donna," my grandma interrupted. "They're soulmates and they're in love, let them be. I think this is great."

I pulled Frank with me down to my bedroom. I gave him a kiss, wrapping my arms around his neck as he pulled me closer. It started to become more heated between us but he pulled away.

"Wait, I've gotta use the bathroom," he said.

He walked out, shutting the door behind me. I sat on the edge of the bed excitedly, never being able to wipe the smile off my face. Frank began to take increasingly long. Ten minutes went by and I was still sitting there.

"Daddy!" I exclaimed when he finally walked back in.

"Sorry, I was talking to your family," he said.

Frank walked over to where I was sitting, dropping down onto one knee. I raised my eyebrows in shock as I looked at him. He held out a ring, my grandma's old wedding ring that my grandpa gave her. It was the same one that I used to try on and pretend I met my soulmate when I was little.

"Daddy, what are you doing?" I asked.

"Babydoll, I love you so much," Frank said. "I never thought that you were going to come into my life but I'm just so fucking glad you did. You've shown me things I never thought was even possible. You're my soulmate, we're meant to be together forever. I know we're already married but will you take this ring and be with me for the rest of my life?"

I choked back tears as I nodded. He slid the ring onto my finger and I wrapped my arms around him, holding him close to me.
