Chapter 23

I am so hyped for this chapter

~~

Frank's POV

I woke up on Brendon's couch, feeling my stomach immediately twist with nerves. It's a tradition that the bride and groom don't sleep in the same bed the night before the wedding so I was sleeping on Brendon's couch since he's my best man. I would have slept in his guest bedroom but he had turned it into his office instead.

"Morning," Ryan said from the kitchen where he could see me. "Big day, huh?"

"Huge," I muttered.

I walked into the kitchen, pouring myself a mug of coffee from the pot that Ryan had brewed.

"Nervous?" He asked.

I let out a low whistle. "I don't think terrified is even close to what I'm feeling."

"Yeah, I can imagine," Ryan said. "I'm sure in the end it'll be great."

I nodded my head as Brendon came down. He gave ryan a kiss, waving to me tiredly. I had hardly slept last night. After Gee fell asleep around four in the morning I held him in my arms for about an hour. By the time i got back to Brendon's it was about half past five. I couldn't sleep at all but finally managed to doze off at about seven. It was now bright and early eight in the morning.

"Big day," Brendon remarked.

"You two really are soulmates," I said with a chuckle.

I couldn't help but think about Gee and feel upset all over again. I wanted to be with him but I also want to be with Jamia. I knew going over to Gee's last night was bad. It would make things so much more painful but I needed to see him. I needed to be with him one last time.

He talked about how Eliza was his mommy now. Every time I thought about that it made me sick to my stomach. It made me angry, like I wanted to hit someone. Preferably Eliza.

"Frank?" Brendon asked.

I looked up at him in question as I was pulled out of my thoughts.

"I asked what time we were going to the church," Brendon repeated.

"Oh, uh, shit," I muttered, running a hand down my face. "fuck, I'm so tired. I think we have to leave here at about, God I don't even know. The ceremony starts at 4. I think we're supposed to be there about an hour before it starts. So we should probably leave at noon if you guys wanna grab a bite on the way. I know pete's gonna be complaining that he's hungry during the ceremony and I know that'll upset Jamia. It'll annoy me too, actually. I don't want him complaining during it."

I opened their fridge, grabbing a yogurt and pulling off the top as I ate it.

"Okay, so we've got everything situated?" Ryan asked.

"I think so," I muttered.

"Okay, Ray and Pete said they'd come by at ten," Brendon said.

I nodded my head, looking down at my food in slight disgust. Thinking about my wedding made me lose all my appetite because I was so nervous. I pushed the plastic container and Brendon raised his eyebrows.

"That nervous?" He asked.

I nodded my head. "You know what, I don't think I wanna grab a bite on the way, I don't wanna risk throwing up on Jamia's dress."

"Why are you so nervous?" Ryan asked. "Shouldn't you be excited?"

My phone rang, interrupting me before I could even open my mouth. I looked at Jamia's called ID and went into the other room to answer it.

"Hey, baby," I greeted.

"Hi, daddy," Jamia said as she giggled, her voice light and happy.

I could tell she was excited whereas I thought I was gonna puke all over Brendon and Ryan's rug.

"This is the best day ever," Jamia said. "I wanna see you so badly and give you a hug and a kiss."

"Well, you'll have to wait for after the ceremony," I said. "But I wish I could give you a hug and kiss too."

"You don't sound happy, daddy," Jamia remarked. "Why aren't you happy?"

"No, of course I'm happy," I denied. "I'm just really nervous."

"Why?" She asked. "We've been planning this wedding for so long, dating since high school. You've been dreaming of this for so long, why are you so nervous all of the sudden?"

"I don't know, babydoll," I said but decided to change the subject. "Anyways, are you and your bridesmaids together getting ready now?"

"Yeah, we were about to head to the salon to get our hair and makeup done," she said.

"Well, have fun, sweetheart," I said. "I love you."

"I love you too, daddy," Jamia repeated, giggling happily as she hung up.

I headed back into the kitchen and I saw that Pete and Ray had actually come early. I also noticed how Pete had eaten my yogurt. I didn't mind, I wasn't going to eat it anyways. I felt like I couldn't keep anything down because I was so nervous.

"Oh god, you look pale," Ray remarked as soon as he saw me. "Are you okay?"

I nodded. "Just really anxious. Plus, I didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night."

Ryan took the Pete and Ray to show them something that had to do with their suits. Brendon walked up to me, his lips pursed as he looked at me.

"I know you snuck out last night," he stated.

My eyes widened. "Oh god, who else knows?"

"Just me and I wasn't planning on telling anyone. You went to see Gee, didn't you?" Brendon guessed while I nodded. "I don't think you're nervous about getting married, I think you're nervous about marrying Jamia. Deep down in your heart you know you want to be with Gee and you don't want to marry Jamia."

I shook my head quickly as I looked at him in shock. "Of course not! I want to marry Jamia so badly, I have for so long."

Brendon frowned slightly. "I never told you this but Ryan and I were in the same situation before. Not exactly but, like, I was dating someone else and when Ryan and I bumped into each other I couldn't possibly pull away from him. I cheated on my boyfriend with Ryan and dumping my ex, Dallon, ended up being so great because I did love Dallon but Ryan and I connected on a whole nother level that I can't even explain."

"You did?" I asked and he nodded. "But what about Dallon? Wasn't he heart broken?"

"Well, at first he was but we explained all about the colors and he eventually moved on," Brendon said. "At first it took me so long to tell him because I loved him and I was terrified, just like how you are now, but afterwards it just felt so great."

The others came back into the room and stopped our conversation.

"What's up, sugar?" Brendon asked.

"Oh, I was just showing them those cuff links my grandpa gave me," Ryan said.

"And they're beautiful, just like you," Brendon said, kissing his forehead.

A few hours passed and soon enough we were at the church, getting ready as people sat in the pews. The wedding went on as people walked down the aisle until it was Jamia's turn. The music played as people watched happily, taking pictures of her walking with her dad. I smiled at her, looking at how beautiful she looked in the dress she picked out. The biggest smile ever was plastered on her face that I could see through the veil. She got up to where I was with the priest and I smiled, still feeling the slight twisting nervousness in the pit of my stomach.

"I love you," I whispered.

"Love you too," she repeated as the priest started talking in a loud voice.

The wedding went on for what I felt was an agonizingly long time. About halfway through I heard Pete mumbling to Ryan that he was hungry and Ryan whispering back at him to shut up. There was a small chuckle from Ray but other than that I was going smoothly.

"Do you, Jamia Nestor, take Frank Iero to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish till death do you part?" The priest asked.

"I do," Jamia answered happily.

"Do you, Frank Iero, take Jamia Nestor to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish till death do you part?" He repeated to me.

I opened my mouth to say "I do" but no words came from my lips. I felt my mouth go dry, an awful twisting feeling in my stomach. It was an awful stomachache as my heart beat faster. I tried to say the two little words but I couldn't seem to force the syllables from my mouth no matter how hard I tried. I just kept thinking of Gee, then Jamia, then back to Gee again. I kept thinking about how much I wanted to hold him in my arms and cuddle him until he was happy. I didn't want him to be with Eliza, I want to be his daddy.

"F-Frankie?" Jamia whispered, her voice cracking slightly.

I could see the tears starting to well up in my eyes as my mouth opened and closed before finally sealing shut in a tight frown. Everyone was staring straight at me and my tie felt all too tight and my suit far too hot. I looked back behind me at my four groomsmen. Ryan, Ray, and Pete looked a little shocked but not as surprised as everyone else because they knew about Gee. Brendon gave me a small, understanding nod and that's all it took for me to know what I really wanted.

I took off running down the aisle, hearing people's gasps and Jamia's wailing as her maid of honor tried to calm her down. I got into Brendon's car, driving away quickly as I headed back into my town. I went through red lights and at some points was going twenty over the limit. Luckily, fate seemed to work so I didn't get caught by police. And it probably was literally fate, the fate that pulled Gee and I together.

By the time I got to Gee's house it was about thirty minutes later. Mikey opened the door, frowning when he saw me. He went to say something but I merely stepped past him and hurried down to the basement. Gee was curled up in a ball on his bad wearing a pair of grey sweatpants and a black t-shirt. He was clutching our wedding invitation to his chest as he sobbed. His whole body was shaking as he cried and I could feel tears in my own eyes too.

"I-im so sorry," I choked out.

I held Gee in my arms. He dropped the invitation and clutched onto me desperately, sobbing into my shoulder.
