Chapter 62
I snapped my eyes open and looked around, frantically, expecting to see Justin staring down at me furiously...and to then yell at me about how it's not good to fall asleep while someone, especially him, is yelling at you.
But he wasn't here.
I was alone in my room...well pepper was there...but I was the only human in the room, if you know what I mean.
Everything was how it was before I randomly fell asleep.
That dream, It felt real...almost too real.
The way that he still had that asshole smirk splattered across his slim face...
But how he got so angry...
It was terrifying seeing an angry Justin...not like I have feelings for him or anything...
Sure, you don't.
I rolled my eyes, annoyed at how my own thoughts are arguing me back about a boy.
I can't and don't have feelings for an arrogant bad boy that's a grade above me and that I'm getting blackmailed for.
What if that dream wasn't actually a dream...it felt extremely real...but I highly doubt it.
Dreams are weird that way. They always try to trick you up into thinking that something that is just a dream is real. And that dream...is a reason why I don't want anyone to know I have Achromotopsia...I fear all of their reactions would be like that.
I stood up out of my bed and looked at my clock and I practically shrieked as I saw the time.
"7:34?!?" I shrieked while jumping out of bed.
No, not 7:34 p.m.
7:34 a.m.
School starts at 8:00 a.m.
I went to sleep at 3 and slept a total of 16 hours.
I basically hibernated.
I didn't do any of my homework!
I didn't do anything for my calculus final...not like it's due but freaking Justin is going to be getting out a damn pocket knife and chopping the candy canes up as if he's a damn chef!
I ran to my closet and grabbed whatever, like I always do...I mean I'm color blind, I don't actually know if I'm dressing properly anyway!
I quickly ran out my room and quickly grabbed an orange from the fruit bowl -which was a mistake- while running to the front door, almost tripping splat on my face.
I am so late.

You know how oranges have this annoying skin that you have to peel off to actually get to the editable part?
Well the entire speed walk to school, I was trying to peel it, and literally I couldn't. All it did was get a thin layer of the skin underneath my fingernails.
I swear it's like I have to get a butchers knife in order to peel an orange.
I ran into homeroom, grasping my knees and panting like that out of shape person I am. Still holding the orange.
Mrs. Brooke's looked so concerned, her wrinkles making a frown. The entire class turned around and looked at me, probably thinking I just ran a mile or just outran some psychopath with a knife that was trying to steal my annoying orange.
I walked over to Mrs Brooke's and handed her a late note and made my way to my desk.
Mrs. Brookes walked over to me, eyeing me while taking my orange, "Kenzie, I would like to speak to you after class."
"..Okay."

After class I walked up to Mrs Brooke's who was eating slices of that orange she took from me.
How was she able to peel it but I couldn't? She's like...100.
"Mrs. Brooke's." I said and she finally took her eyes off the orange and looked up at me, her eyes filled with confusion.
"Yes, Ms tree?"
"You said you wanted to speak with me after class." I said refreshing her memory.
"Ah, yes." She nodded and started to straight up some of the papers on her desk and go right on to her Computer.
She continued typing as I stood there watching her.
"So...Kenzie, I've noticed that ever since I let you switch to Calculus, you've been late to school twice." She said after looking up from her computer.
I was about to answer but she continued talking, "I know twice isn't much of a big deal, but you have never been late to high school a day in your life. Is something going on?"
I have never missed school or have been late to elementary, middle, or high school...except for now. And I'm probably going to be late to my next class because Mrs Brooke's thinking it's a great idea to talk to me after class and not during class.
"Well...my parents...they're on a vacation, so sometimes I just forget to set my alarm." I quickly lied, while pushing my hair behind my shoulder.
"Oh...when will they be back?" She asked, her bifocals on the edge of her nose as she looked up at me.
"Few weeks before my senior year." I shrugged while looked back to see some students walking in, one just happened to be Tiffany who just looked over at em and locked eyes with me for a few moments before sitting down in her seat.
"Oh...so your fine being on your own?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Plus Aaron is there too." I said quickly trying to end the conversation.
"Oh! Aaron! I remember him...he was a great student. Is he alright?" She said smiling, her eyes etched with concern.
That's a weird question to ask...
The proper question probably would have been to ask "how Is he doing."
"He's doing good. Listen I should get going, I don't want to be late to chem." I said quickly, annoyed and really not wanting to be late to yet another class.
"Oh. Alright, here's a note." She handed me a late note in case I'm late to class.
I quickly took the note and ran out the classroom and ran all the way to my chem class.
Once I got there I sat down and soon after, a note got passed to me.
