Chapter 3
At lunch I just stared at Tiffany waiting for her to say the 'big news.'
Which she just stared at me.
"Well?"
"Oh yeah uh....there's a party on Wednesday, want to come?"
Ugh.
A party?
Parties are lame.
"No. Why would I ?"
"Because you come to like, no parties we invite you to." Kaeli rolled her beautiful dark big eyes.
Yes I said her eyes are dark.
Obviously because I can see black grey and white...so I see her eyes as a dark grey.
"Yeah...I went to your birthday party." I said lamely and they smirked.
"Yeah..When we were 10 years old...we're 17 now...these are high school parties."
"Right..." I bit my lip before adding more "Its just, my parents seem to worry a lot..."
"Why?"
Because I'm color blind, duh.
My parents seem to sometimes think that me having monochromacy makes me disabled and unable to do things normal teens can do...but that's not true, because I'm just as average as any other teen.
I'm actually smarter in my opinion...
You know...since I'm in calculus.
"Because she's a dog..." someone said.
I turned.
"Nicole."
"Kenzie."
Nicole watt.
The flunky.
The diva.
The bixch.
My nemesis.
I honestly don't know why we're nemisis'
We just never liked each other...
She doesn't know about my vision impairment, which is a great thing because she would use it against me as in spreading a rumour that I'm color blind...and I cannot let a rumour like that get around.
I know I know...
It's a dumb rumour to worry about.
But if you knew what it's like to not see color...you'd gear the same reason.
Plus no one would understand...they wouldn't have pity either...they'd just be in disgust at me.
"Her parents are afraid she'll get lost..." she said in a baby voice.
"Shut up, Nicole." I said randomly.
I've never told her to shut up.
No one has ever told Nicole Watt to shut up.
Honestly I must've lost my calculus brain...that's how much I probably fuxked up.
"What did you say?"
"Oh your deaf? Here let me make it clear for you.." i started doing sign language while saying "I SAID. SHUT. THE
FUXK. UP!!"
I may have went too far with the f bomb...and the sign language...but you know...I woke up on the wrong side of the bed...I'm in a pissy mood....and I seriously want coffee.
She took steps closer, her friends behind her suddenly.
"You know...it's it's shame you can't go to a party...what a loser you are..."
And then I snapped.
"Im going to the party."
Kaeli looked at me shocked.
"But You sai-"
"Yes, Kaeli, I said I'm going..." I interrupted her.
Tiffany was cheering silently.
And grey was looking at her nails.
"Really?" Nicole took a step closer.
"Yes. I'm going to the party." I said dumbly...knowing damn well my parents won't let me, but you know what if I say I'll go, then I'll sound normal...and prove them wrong...but prove them right when I don't show.
"Oh yeah...well..." Nicole pushed her hair back, her bright eyes meeting my bright eyes.
She stood there thinking.
And I stood there alert..
Waiting for that good ol California Nicole bixch slap.
"Well, you know what?-"
"No, i don't know what." I muttered loudly...
At this point I'm just now noticing that I'm doi ng what brick told me to do...which was the last thing I wanted to do.
Oh well.
I mean it was good advice but I'm still pissed off at her.
Nicole then growled, like a dog with rabies, while grinning evily.
She must be on steroids.
"We're making a deal..."
"Sure I love deals with the devil.." i said sarcastically.
As though there is no harm in mirrors.
"Oh I thought you'd argue but whatever...anyway, if you don't show up to the party...I will spread a rumour about you, but if you do show...then No harm...I'll leave you alone for the rest of your sorryful life."
I looked at Gray and kaeli who were looking at me as though saying 'Are you nuts?'
But I made a decision I may regret.
I stood up and pushed my hair back and met Nicole's eyes.
"I'm going to that party." I said sternly.
She grinned meanly "Its tomorrow...see you there...and good luck." She snickered before walking away with her friends behind her.
"Are you actually going, miss baddie?"
I glanced at Tiffany who was looking at me, her full lips forming a grin.
"Well now that the deal is made, duh."
Tiffany literally jumped out her seat and did a cartwheel before pulling me into a hug.
"You'll have so much fun! THIS IS THE ONLY TIME I THANK NICOLE FOR SOMETHING!"
Kaeli looked at me, her mouth opened.
"Your going to catch flies that way, Kaeli." I muttered sarcastically.
Kaeli rolled her eyes while laughing.
What I said wasn't even funny...
"Whatever..."
"What will you wear?" Gray grinned widely.
Oh I totally forgot about that WHAT TO WEAR basis if your going to a party.
"I don't know."
I honestly don't know the WHAT TO WEAR basis for a party.
Obviously because I've never been to one.
Kaeli looked at me "You don't know?!!? Girl...you don't have any party outfits? Or...something cute?"
I frowned at her comment as I looked at my clothes.
"Whats wrong with what I wear?"
She became as dark as a tomato as she noticed that she totally said that comment wrong.
"What I meaaant was....you don't have a dress?"
Oh hxll no.
"I didn't know a were going to prom..." I scowled at the dress part.
I honestly hate dresses.
Mostly the no strapped ones.
She huffed.
"Please, Kenz, we'll all be wearing dresses!"
Honestly Kaeli is very nice and understanding.
But it's very annoying when she begs.
"Kaeli, if my home girl don't want to wear a dress, then she don't have to...she'll still look prettier than everyone at the party...you know cause she's model material." Tiffany smirked.
"Fine then I'm helping chose her outfit..." she started while huffing and puffing.
She then ended by saying,
"Let's shop."
