Chapter 2: An Eye for an Ẽ̵͐́̂̉y̵͖̓̋͆̈́͝e
"I sometimes forget you're rich, Mama." King said, watching TV with his second mother, Amity Blight.
Amity snorted and laughed, holding her son close. "Yeah, I forget that too. Almost always. I only ever remember I'm rich when I'm in my car, which isn't shiny or fancy like the rest of my house."
"Am I in your will?" King asked, his little tail wagging.
Amity laughed, covering her mouth. "Where did you learn about that?"
"The TV!" King said, pointing at whatever Old West movie the two were watching to pass the time.
"Huh. Not too surprised." Amity said before focusing back on the screen. The movie ended with the main villain getting shot and the credits started to roll.
King blinked. "...that's it? The bad guy just dies and that's it?! Mama, punish this movie with magic!" He said, bouncing on the couch.
Amity kissed King's forehead before grabbing her staff and then reaching it forward to grab the remote, and put it into her hand. In which she turned off the TV.
Totally magic.
"HAHA! YOU ARE BANISHED!" King said with fake evil laughter.
Amity giggled and did a playful bow. "Whatever my king wishes shall be done!"
King smiled, nodding at a rapid pace before he stood up. "So, when is Mom getting back?"
"Her, Uncle Hunter, and Auntie Vee are out doing patrol. Making sure no more bad guys are around." Amity said, kneeling down to King's level. "Just because Belos is gone doesn't mean there isn't still bad people."
"But Mom can take em down! She's super duper strong!" King exclaimed. "She beat THE TITAN!"
"She did, but not alone and not with just her strength. She used her brain to think of a plan! Being smart is also part of being a hero!" Amity smiled, scooping King into her arms.
King nodded before seeing something on Amity's finger. The promise ring Luz had given her a few days ago. He only NOW noticed it. "Hey, Mama. What's that?"
"Huh? Oh! It's my promise ring." Amity explained. "Your mom gave it to me."
"What's a promise ring?" King asked, scratching his head.
Amity smiled. "Well, you know how in movies and in real life, people who love each other very much get married?"
"Yeah!"
"Well, it's like that. But it's different. We're too young to be married right now, so this ring is like her promise to me. That she WILL be married to me one day. And me wearing the ring is my promise to her that I'll be married to her too." Amity smiled. "And I'll legally be your Mama!"
King giggled. "You already are!"
"Awww, King!" Amity laughed before suddenly? The lights began to flicker on and off. King held tightly onto his mother shortly before the lights stayed on...but only shortly before a giant CRASH was heard outside.
Amity set King down on the couch, grabbing her staff. "Stay here."
King nodded, whimpering a little bit and grabbing a blanket and his plushie, Francois.
Amity used her staff to summon the armor her father had built to protect her and looked outside, slowly stepping out. She looked around. It wasn't a car or some kind of vehicle that crashed deep into the forest around their house...but it WAS something.
Trees, and branches were knocked all over. Amity had to use her staff to blast away some remains so she could walk through. "Hello?" She called out, putting the hood on her cloak, which blacked her face so no one would see her. A little help from Luz's illusion magic.
She kept walking and walking through the path this something that crashed made...before hearing the cracking of branches. She froze, looking around before seeing it...or rather. Her.
A young woman in dark armor, that was in a color Amity couldn't quite describe. She had a long black cape with crimson on the other side. The young woman also had a helmet with two long horns, at least on one side. The entire other half of the helmet was shattered...revealing something even stranger. The young woman's hair was GLOWING green.
"Ma'am?!" Amity exclaimed, stepping forward.
The woman seemed to notice her, but didn't turn to her. She stood up and looked down...until her hand glowed green, and her helmet's other half magically mended itself back onto the other half, repairing her helmet. She then turned around to Amity...to reveal 11 glowing eyes. 9 of them were orange. The 10th was a Green Gem. And the 11th was blue.
Amity could see all kinds of details on the woman's armor. Her chest had a glowing orange eye as well, and strange orange veins designed on her arms, legs, and torso. The only thing that made her look human was the bottom half of the helmet, which revealed a blank face.
A blank face that soon turned into a GIANT grin. The woman had FANGS.
Amity felt an actual chill go down her spine and she stepped back, lifting her staff. "W-Who are you...?"
The demonic looking woman looked over Amity all of her eyes before cackling. "You're human...but not the one I'm looking for."
"Huh?" Amity asked before she gasped, quickly dodging a sudden BLAST of orange energy. She rolled onto the leaves and dirt before thrusting her staff forward, blasting at the demon before summoning an army of Abominations.
The blast hit the demon, but it hardly did anything to her. The abominations all lunged at her, being upgraded with sharp teeth and claws thank to Amity's magic.
The demon let out an evil giggle before taking out a sword handle, which suddenly ignited in a glowing orange blade. She swung the sword, slicing all the Abominations in half with a single slice.
Amity's eyes widened before the demon lunged at Amity. She turned her staff into a double sided sword made out of Abomination clay, keeping it together with her armor's magic. She then clashed with the demon, the burning energy licking at the clay of Amity's weapon.
The demon grinned an even bigger and creepier smile as she pulled her flaming saber back and kept swinging her sword against Amity's double bladed sword. Amity eventually dashed behind the demon, slashing at her, but the demon blocked her attack.
Amity growled and eventually sent an Abomination fist towards the demon, who quickly broke their clash and sliced the fist in half. Amity took this as her chance and sent a vortex of flames.
The demon suddenly teleported out of the way of the flames, appearing behind Amity and taking a slice at her back. Amity SCREAMED in agony, falling to her knees and dropping her staff. The demon kicked away the staff.
"You're new to fighting a PERSON, aren't you...?" The demon asked with a cackle, pulling off Amity's hood.
Amity, despite being in burning pain from her back, used her gauntlets to tie up the demon's wrists with vines. She then quickly got back up, punching the demon across the face before grabbing her staff again and blasting.
The demon roared in pain, growling before cackling and effortlessly breaking through the vines. She then lifted her hand, blasting Amity against a tree.
Amity cried out in pain before suddenly? Mechanical arms sprouted forward and grabbed Amity, lifting her into the air.
The demon just smirked wider. "You seem like a smart girl...and you fight with determination...oh, yes. I remember you. You're The Witch's little girlfriend."
Amity's eyes widened. "H-HOW DO YOU-"
"I SEE EVERYTHING." The demon laughed. "The Witch is one of Earth's heroes alongside THEM...and while it seems I'm not on the Earth I was in, that does not mean anything's changed."
"W-WHO ARE YOU!?!" Amity screamed, trying to break out before suddenly? She was shocked with orange electricty from the mechanical arms and her screams of agony grew, echoing throughout the forest.
The demon cackled. "Call me The Core. Or perhaps Marcy...considering it's her body I'm using." The Core said with a smirk.
But then, freeing Amity? A blur bit into the mechanical arms, slicing them all and causing them to fall. Amity slid against the tree, in pain and slowly losing consciousness.
The Core narrowed her eyes and saw some kind of demonic wolf with a skull for a head, with horns on his head. One of them broken. "The Witch's little pet."
King ROARED, standing in front of his mother protectively before lunging at The Core.
The Core took out her sword and took a swing, slicing King in the arm and causing him to fall. The Core then walked over, kicking the injured demon closer to Amity. "You have great power, but you are but a CHILD."
She then laughed and suddenly lifted herself in the air with an orange and green aura. "I, ON THE OTHER HAND? I HAVE EXISTED FAR LONGER THAN THIS PLANET..."
The Core then grabbed both Amity and King, lifting them into the air with her. She clenched their necks, tightening her grip. She then laughed, her eyes glowing brighter.
King and Amity's eyes suddenly turned orange and they passed out. The Core dropped them both, not caring about their injuries or what she had just done.
The Core then flew down and looked around. "...I am on the same Earth. Just a different time." She cackled before flying up again. "Now...I GET TO KNOW THE WITCH A LITTLE BETTER."
She then teleported away in a small burst of orange energy, already eager to cause havoc in a time that wasn't the one she came from.
