I looked below me as Stark swooped down and took out Thor. Idiot, what is the point in causing a fight? We're all after Loki so just play nice. I watched them both stand before each other looking at one another, presumably talking and Tony being a bit of a dick. I watched Tony go to walk away before Thor threw his hammer at him and sent him flying. I couldn't help but hold back a small chuckle as he landed on the floor. The hammer quickly returned to Thors hand and Tony stood up, blasting him with a beam before flying over to him and kicking him back. Thor held his hammer up to the sky, lightning bolts illuminated it and he sent them straight to Stark who fell back before sending an extremely strong bolt towards Thor. They both jumped up in the air ready to fight and I quickly flew up and got between them. Before they collided with me I pushed them both back using the wind and they fell back in different directions.

"Stop this both of you, you're both big boys with big muscles, we get it. We're on the same team!" I shouted at them both, Tony took off flying before I could even retaliate and picked up Thor on his way, hurling him into a cliff. Once they were both grounded again they began to fight, Thor began to crush Tony's arm and he threw another beam his way. 

Be careful.

I grabbed ahold of Tony and tried to throw him back but he pushed me back into a tree. My eyes began to close as a face came into view

"Agent Rice, are you alright?" He asked as I smiled at him

"I'm NOT an agent! I'm fine Cap, stop them from killing each other please" I whispered as I brought my hand up to the back of my head, I felt a warm liquid on my hand, I'm bleeding! That arsehole! My eyes shot open at the sound of Caps voice, he threw his shield at Thor and Tony, stopping their fight

"That's enough!" He exclaimed as he jumped down from the tree he was on "Now I don't know what you plan on doing here-"

"I've come here to put and end to Loki's schemes" Thor shouted

"Then prove it. Put that hammer down" he said, damn was I losing blood or is it really attractive when he gets all authoritative?

"Yeah... No. Bad call. He loves his hammer" Tony began to say before Thor flung it back at him

"You want me to put the hammer down?" Thor said, getting angrier. He lept to the Captain, his hammer raised, Steve raised his shield and a huge bang was heard before throwing them both back. I held my head as I got on my feet, going light headed as I gave a bit of a wobble. Tony was next to get up, then the Cap and Thor and they all looked at each other

"Are we done here? You're all big boys and can have a medal. Let's go get Loki" I said as my vision started to blur

"She doesn't look too good" I heard Tony say as I stumbled over to them

"That's because you threw her at a tree" Captain said as he walked towards me "Ma'am are you ok?" He asked as he held onto my arms, keeping me stood upright

"Yeah I'm fine. Let's just... get Loki and... go" I said before everything went dark

I slowly opened my eyes to a bright light. Holy cheese balls am I dead? A soft groan escaped my lips as a silhouette appeared in front of me. I couldn't quite make out who it was but they helped me sit up. Once I was upright I held my hands to my face and slowly began to open my eyes more until they adjusted to the light

"You took a pretty big hit" the voice said, it was Steve. I chuckled slightly as I made an attempt to look at him

"Yeah well.. I've had worse" I mumbled

"Yeah well... I don't care. We need you to be safe and in fit shape Ma'am" he said as he grabbed a glass of water, I willingly took it and began gulping it down "You had me worried for a moment"

"Captain I'm no one to worry about. Trust me. I'm here for Loki and Loki onl- Holy shit Loki! Did we get him?" I asked as he smiled

"We got him. As for me not worrying I will always worry about a lady in distress" he smiled as my face dropped

"DISTRESS" I shouted as he looked taken back "Let me tell you something here Captain. I know you've only just come back into this world but pick up a damn history book. It's not women in distress anymore in fact we handle ourselves pretty well. We practically ran the country whilst you were out fighting the war. We can manage on our own and if it wasn't for Stark wanting to show he's some big man, nothing like this would've happened" I said as I pulled out the IV that was in my arm. Steve went to say something as I stood up and put my boots on "I don't need anyone to worry about me at all. I've been on my own and I've been absolutely fine" I shouted as I stormed out of the room. I sighed deeply as I turned the corner and bumped into Uncle Phil "oh erm... Hi Uncle Phil" I said as he pulled me into a hug "I... can't... breathe..." I gasped as he released me

"You had me scared kiddo, honestly when I found out what Stark did I was so mad I-"

"Don't sweat it, he'll get what's coming to him. His big head is an easy target" I said as I looked down at my feet

"You know the Captain never left your side whilst you were out" Uncle Phil smirked, I opened my mouth to give the same speech to my Uncle as I did to him before he interrupted me "I know I know. You're a strong independent woman and you can manage on your own" he chuckled as I closed my mouth "Just promise me if help or friends or even love comes knocking... you won't turn it away immediately" he said as he placed a hand on my shoulder. I looked up at him and smiled

"I promise Uncle Phil" I smiled as he placed a kiss on my forehead "I'm going to go train. I need to get some anger out" I said as I began walking away towards the training room. He shouted a goodbye as I walked away from him. My Uncle Phil was pretty much the only family I had left and he meant the world to me. It was great to know he was still alive but sadly that meant that my worries about his life and making sure he was OK were going to start all over again. Soon I entered the training room and I sighed a sigh of relief when it was empty, I walked over to the hanger and placed my jacket up before wrapping my hands up ready to punch all of my anger out on that poor bag that was hanging there.

I began with a few light punches before eventually getting more heavy handed. That prick Tony Stark who was the reason I was injured. SMACK. Nick Fury who told me I'd have been able to kill Loki by now. SMACK. Thor who I'd have to fight to get through to Loki. SMACK. All of my emotions came out as my fists became sore. My stupid Mother who abandoned me and my Dad when I was a baby. SMACK. My family for leaving me after my Father died because they didn't want a 'freak' in the family. SMACK. Captain fucking America who thought I was in distress and needed 'saving'. SMACK. The bag bust off the chain and flew to the other side of the room. I didn't even realise that I'd used the air to push it across the room. I heard a slow clap from next to me as I looked up and saw Steve himself

"What do you want?" I spat as I looked down at my hands which were now bleeding

"I want to apologise Ma'am-"

"Just call me El please" I asked as I walked over to the punching bag which was now on the other side of the room on the floor

"Eleanor I'm sorry. I'm not good at this whole talking thing. Especially now I'm in another time. I didn't mean to upset you and I definitely don't want us to leave on bad terms" he said as I scowled over at him "How can I make it up to you?" he asked

"First of all you can pick up a history book and learn about women, second of all you can just call me El" I chuckled "And finally... You can fight me" I said as he looked confused "You and me, training right now. I bet I can take you down Rogers" I smirked as he nodded "And don't go easy on me"

"OK, let's do this.. ELEANOR" he laughed as he placed his shield down and walked towards me "And I promise I won't" he began to say before I dropped to the floor, stuck out my leg and swung it around, knocking him off his feet before getting up "That's how we're doing this then" he jumped up and began to attack, I managed to block a few punches and began to evaluate his fighting, after a few jabs he tended to leave his guard down. I let him throw a few more punches before taking my chance and hitting him whilst he wasn't up for defence. After this I continued to push, throwing punches and kicks at him until he caught my leg in the air "Erm Ma'am I think this belongs to you" he smiled as he threw my leg down and began fighting once more. 

Use your powers.

I pushed Steve back to give me a moment before pushing my arms forward, the wind I'd thrown at him pushed him back against the wall and I kept it going so he couldn't move

"So that's how you got out of the quinjet without a parachute" he smirked as I stopped the wind and he fell down, "Nice little party trick" he chuckled

"Well I can't give you the full sha-bang or you'd be dead in an instant" I laughed as he came towards me and raised his hands again, ready to fight. I threw various punches at him, some which he blocked and others that got through to him

"I think... You could... Teach me... A thing or two" he said between hits as he got me in my face, I turned around and faced away from him and groaned in pain. He quickly stopped and rushed to my side "Eleanor I'm so sorry! I didn't realise I was hitting that hard" He said as I turned around and clocked him in the face, I then proceeded to grab his arm and twist it around so he was on the floor and placed my knee on his back so he couldn't get up

"Lesson One... Don't let yourself get distracted" I smirked as he tapped out

"OK I'll give you that one" he said as he got up "We good?" he asked as he stuck his hand out for me to shake. Don't go running if anyone comes knocking. OK Uncle Phil.

"We're good" I said as I shook his hand firmly

"What happened to you guys?" Dr Banner asked as we walked into the room

"I found out what happens when you go a few rounds with Eleanor" Steve said as he looked at me and smiled

"You didn't fight too bad, few things that need updating but other than that you're all good" I winked as I walked over to Agent Romanoff

"That's where I know you from!" She exclaimed as she looked at me, a puzzled face fell on everyone including me "You used to teach self defence in New York right?" She asked as I nodded "I took a class there once! You're really good" she smiled

"You mean to tell me I was fighting a teacher this whole time?" Captain chuckled "I call a rematch, give me time to train and I'm sure I can beat you at some point" he joked as I smiled and looked at a screen with Loki on

"In case it's unclear... If you try to escape, if you so much as scratch that glass" Fury said on the screen as he demonstrated how the cage works to Loki, probably trying to intimidate him "It's 30,000 feet straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works?" He asked as he turned off the trap thing "Ant, boot" wait what? I looked at Steve in confusion and he shrugged his shoulders

"It's an impressive cage" Loki chuckled "Not built, I think, for me" I looked over at Dr Banner who had an upset look on his face. Poor guy, he must hate it.

"Built for something much strong than you" Fury said

"Oh I've heard" Loki said as he looked at the camera. Keep talking big man, a few rounds with me and I'd have you talking. At the end of it you'd be begging for me to kill you. But I won't show no mercy. It'll be a slow and painful death and- I snapped out of my thoughts, realising I was missing the conversation "Ooh. It burns you to have come so close... To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power. And for what?" Loki smirked "A warm light for all mankind to share" he said looking at the camera again, was that a dig? "And then to be reminded what real power is"

"Well let me know if 'real power' wants a magazine or something" Fury backfired as he left Loki in the cage on his own, the screens then went blank

"He really grows on you doesn't he?" Dr Banner said as I looked over at him

"Loki's gonna drag this out. So, Thor what's his play?" Steve asked, my glance fell at the God who was already looking at me

"He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard, nor any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the Earth, in return I suspect, for the Tesseract" he informed us

"An army... From outer space" Steve repeated, I imagine he's not come across anything like this before, not that I have

"So he's building another portal. That's what he needs Erik Selvig for" Banner confirmed

"Selvig?"

"He's an astrophysicist" Banner told Thor,

"He's a friend" I scanned the room, Tony was nowhere to be seen. Wonder why he was avoiding me.

"Loki has him under some kind of spell" I confirmed as Thor's gaze landed on me once more

"Along with one of ours" Romanoff added on

"I want to know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here" Steve exclaimed, it was unusual that he gave in so easily,

"I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guys brain is a bag full of cats. You could smell crazy on him" Banner said as I chuckled,

"He's crazy, but he's smart and he has a plan of action" I confirmed.

"Have care how you speak. Loki is beyond reason but he is of Asgard. And he is my brother" Thor warned,

"Oh come on, you don't even like him. Plus he's killed 80 people in two days" I exclaimed,

"He's adopted" Thor added on.

"I think it's about the mechanics... Iridium, what do they need the iridium for?" Banner asked the room,

"It's a stabilising agent" Tony said as he entered the room with Uncle Phil, I glanced at them both and threw Tony a look as he approached me "I understand an apology is in order. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let my personal feelings get in the way, I'm glad you're doing good" he said as my mouth gaped open. Did he just- apologise? Tony quickly mentioned something to Uncle Phil before turning back to the group, "it means the portal won't collapse on itself like it did at S.H.I.E.L.D. Also no hard feelings to you, Point Break. You've got a mean swing" he said to Thor, tapping him on the arm. Oh he has no idea "Also, it means the portal can open as wide and stay open as long as Loki wants" he told us as he turned to the screens "Raise the mizzenmast. Jib the topsails" he said as we all gave him confusing looks "That man is playing Galaga. He thought we wouldn't notice, but we did" he said pointing to a guy sat at a computer. "How does Fury even see these?" He asked as he began covering one eye and looking at the screens.

"He turns" Agent Hill bluntly puts it,

"Sounds exhausting" Tony says as he turns back to the group "The rest of the raw materials Agent Barton can get his hands on pretty easily. The only major component he still needs is a power source of high-energy density. Something to kick start the cube" he adds on.

"When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics?" Hill questions,

"Last night. The packet, Selvigs notes, the extraction theory papers" he exclaims "The reading I did after I missed out on her little party trick" he says pointing to me.

"Does Loki need any particular kind of power source?" Cap asks,

"He would have to heat the cube to 120 million Kelvin just to break through the Coulomb barrier" Banner says.

"Unless Selvig has figured out how to stabilise the quantum tunnelling effect" Tony continues,

"Well if he could do that he could achieve heavy ion fusion at any reactor on the planet"

"Finally! Someone who speaks English!" Tony chuckled as he approaches Banner,

"Is that what just happened?" Steve asks whilst looking at me as I smiled, thankfully I knew exactly what they were on about. I like to do my research.

"It's good to meet you Dr Banner. Your work on antielectron collisions is unparalleled. I am also a HUGE fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster" he smiled as he shakes Dr Banners' hand, Dr Banner pulled a face before thanking him.

"Dr Banner is only here to track the cube" Fury said as he walked in, all of our eyes diverted over to him "I was hoping you might join him"

"I'd start with that stick of his. It may be magical, but it works an awful lot like a HYDRA weapon" Cap said as he looked between everyone.

"I don't know about that, but it is powered by the cube" Fury responded,

"Surely we can use that to trace the cube then, I imagine the gamma rays that thing is radiating is only a small amount compared to the Tesseract" I inputted as everyone threw a weird look my way "I'm not just a pretty face you know!" I exclaimed as a few chuckled,

"I would like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys" Fury stated,

"Monkeys. I do not understand" Thor replied, this is exactly why I don't want to live with my Mother. Could you imagine not living in a place where there were never people such as Martin Luther King Jr, John Lennon or any of The Beatles?

"I do!" Cap joyfully exclaimed as Tony rolled his eyes "I understood that reference" he smiled as he looked around, there was silence among all of us

"Shall we play Doctor?" Tony exclaimed as Dr Banner looked at me,

"What about you Miss Eleanor Rice?" he asked me, I smiled. It was nice that such an intelligent Doctor acknowledged my brains and wanted me to help with something.

"Eleanor Rice?" A deep voice came from beside of me, I looked and it was Thor, who was now... Bowing? I gave him a strange look as did everyone else.

"Did Shakespeare just... bow to her?" Tony remarked as his eyes flickered between the two of us,

"Daughter of Gaea, the Goddess of Earth. I have heard many great things about you... Princess" he said as he slowly began to get up, my face must've been a sight, never and I mean EVER has someone bowed before me.

"You erm... You don't have to do that at all. I'm just a normal person. My Dad was a baker on Earth" I laughed as I looked around the room awkwardly, waiting for someone to say something to save me from this situation, unfortunately no one decided to help "Shouldn't we get on with that tracking?" I nervously laughed as I began to exit the room.
