"She'll wanna see him first!" Maria shouted as we walked down the dark corridor, avoiding all the Doctors around us. Want to see who? Who would I want to see before getting medical fucking treatment? Maria reached over and pulled back a curtain to reveal Nicholas fucking Fury on a hospital bed. 

"About damned time" he chuckled. I pushed myself off Steve and walked towards his bed, barging past a Doctor who was stood there to see Nick was smiling at me. SMACK. My fist collided with his face and before I knew it Steve had grabbed me and was holding me back.

"Let me fucking go Steve! I'm going to murder him for real this time!" I shouted as Doctors rushed to Nick's side. "Care to fucking tell me how my Father was brought into all this?" I screamed as Nick sat up and shooed the Doctors away.

"It's OK" he muttered as Steve held me where I was and the Doctors left. "I didn't tell you because it was his dying wish for you to live a normal life Ellie" he said as I lunged for him, only to be held down by Steve.

"Don't you fucking dare call me that after you've lied to me for years!" I shouted, "I've lived far from a normal life, the least you could do is tell me how he was involved!"

"OK!" he raised his voice as I stopped fighting against Steve's grip. "Your Father was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D... Well, more than an agent, he practically helped build the place up. He was my right hand man, aside from Pierce, he was looking into the Winter Soldier and he found something, he found the lab where he was at, he went undercover and found out that the Winter Soldier was a brainwashed man who was under the control of HYDRA" Nick admitted as a tear ran down my face. "I told him to stop investigating so far into it but he wouldn't stop, I told him that he was going to end up raising suspicion on himself but he didn't listen. HYDRA found out who he was... They found out who you were and they came after you both. He made me swear to protect you Eleanor. Told me he had one last mission before he was going to move away from the states and take up a new identity with you. He never came back from that mission" he told me as I shook my head,

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?" I growled as Nick looked at me,

"Because you were already looking into his death Ellie. Tell me, if you'd have known this would you have searched harder?" he questioned, he was right. I'd have found and taken down HYDRA myself there and then. "What I did was to protect you."

"You lied to me my whole fucking life! I trusted you!" Another tear fell from my face as I shrugged Steve's hold off me. "You are a disgrace to his name... I watched you die! I fucking mourned you!" I spat at him,

"Why didn't you tell us?" Steve asked as I looked up at him, he was clenching his jaw and I could see he was almost as annoyed at Nick as I was... Almost.

"Any attempt on the Directors life had to look successful." Maria said as I looked at her, she knew?

"Can't kill you, if you're already dead" Nick joked, oh you'd be dead once I'm done with you alright. "Besides, I wasn't sure who to trust" he admitted as I scoffed. 

"Are you kidding me? Wasn't sure who to trust? You knew my Father was murdered by HYDRA and you didn't know if you could trust me?" I once again began to raise my voice and Steve placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder.

"You didn't know HYDRA killed your Father, Ellie. I didn't tell you because I wanted you to be safe." he argued,

"No fuck that Nick! Stop with the fucking bullshit now! You seriously believe after everything you know about me I would side with them?" I asked,

"You were already looking into them. I know about the harddrive you have Ellie, I knew all along what you had. I just never got a chance to speak to you about it. I didn't want you to find out this way" he added as I shook my head, "HYDRA planned to launch Project Insight long ago. It was your Father who ruined their plans, stopped them from doing what they were going to do. In the long run he lost his life for it."

"FUCK YOU!" I growled as I began to walk out of the room, "I need a fucking Doctor" I mumbled on my way out.

"This way m'am" a soldier said as he led me down a few other corridors, soon enough I heard footsteps behind me and a hand on my shoulder. I turned around, grabbing the arm and twisting it. Hearing a grunt from the person I looked down to see Steve, shit. I let go and he stood up to face me,

"Hey..." he muttered as he pulled me in for a hug. I wrapped my arms around him and began to sob uncontrollably, he pulled away slightly and brushed my hair behind my ear, "It's going to be OK Ellie" he assured, my body relaxed at my name leaving his lips and I smiled up at him through my tears,

"I'm just so mad he didn't tell me Steve" I admitted as his hand moved from my ear and cupped my cheek, I leaned into his touch and felt his thumb stroke my face.

"I know... He had his stupid reasons, they're not enough but we know now. We can stop them from doing it to anyone else" he said as I nodded and looked up into his eyes, "You've got me... You always will have" he whispered before pulling my face to his and pressing a light kiss on my lips. "I'll always be here Ellie"

After I was treated, Steve finally convinced me to sit in a room with Fury without murdering him so here I was. Sat down with Steve, Maria, Sam and the fuck face himself.

"This man declined the Nobel Peace Prize" he told us as he looked at a photo of Pierce, "He said peace wasn't an achievement, it was a responsibility." He threw the photo down before looking at Steve, Sam and I. "See, it's stuff like this that gives me trust issues" I scoffed, that's rich coming from him. 

"We need to stop that launch" Sam said,

"I don't think the Council's accepting my calls anymore." Nick opened a briefcase showing three chips, across the front 'RICE' was written. 

"What's that?" I questioned,

"Once the helicarriers reach three thousand feet, they'll triangulate with Insight satellites, becoming fully weaponized" Hill said as she turned a screen to us and showed a video of the helicarriers.

"We need to breach those carriers and replace their targeting blades with our own. Your Father made these." Nick told me as he made eye contact,

"One or two won't cut it. We need to link all three carriers for this to work, because if even one of those ships remain operational, a whole lot of people are gonna die." Hill explained as my eyes fell to her.

"We have to assume everyone aboard those carriers are HYDRA. We have to get past them, insert these server blades and maybe... Just maybe, we can salvage what's left-"

"We're not salvaging anything!" Steve shouted as I looked at him, his eyes burning into Fury. "We're not just taking down the carriers, Nick. We're taking down S.H.I.E.L.D" he added.

"S.H.I.E.L.D had nothing to do with this!" he argued, looking at me, as if I was going to defend him. 

"It ends here! S.H.I.E.L.D has been compromised, you said so yourself. HYDRA grew right under your nose, killed my Father and no one noticed" I growled,

"Why do you think we're meeting in this cave? I noticed!" Fury was looking directly at me now, as if he was hoping I'd change my mind.

"You didn't notice soon enough. How many other people paid the price?" I asked as Nick hung his head in shame,

"I didn't know about Barnes..." he told us,

"I don't care. You wouldn't have told us anyway! S.H.I.E.L.D and HYDRA are now the same thing as far as I'm concerned... It all goes." I stood up to prove my point, that's what big speakers do isn't it? Stand up to be more authoritative? I know Steve does it a lot. 

"She's right" Maria whispered as I looked at her, guilt filling her eyes as she watched me. Nick looked at Hill, myself, Steve then Sam,

"Don't look at me... I do what they do, just slower" he shrugged his shoulders.

"Well..." Nick sighed as he leaned back in his chair, "Looks like you're giving the orders now Ellie" he said as everyone looked at me, "You may want some backup" I heard a few steps behind me and I turned around to see my favourite redhead enter the room timidly.

"H-Hi" she smiled as I stormed up to her, worry flooded her face but instead of punching her I pulled her into a tight hug, her arms wrapping around me and holding me close. "I missed you so much" she whispered as I squeezed tighter.

"I missed you too."

"Penny for your thoughts?" I asked as I approached Steve who was looking out into the distance, he turned and looked at me before smiling.

"I was just thinking back to how it all was before... With Bucky you know?" I nodded as I stood next to him and looked out where he was,

"He's going to be there you know" I told him as he nodded. "Look I'm going to be honest with you... Whoever he used to be and the guy he is now, I think he can be saved. I don't think my Dad would've dug deeper into HYDRA if he didn't believe" I told him as he turned his head to face me and smiled, "I just don't want you getting hurt because of him Steve."

"I know. I won't, I'll bring him back." he placed his hands on my shoulders and began to rub my arms. "I'm so sorry about your Da-"

"Save it old man. No point apologising for something that isn't your fault... Just let me be the one to beat Rumlow's arse and I'll be good" I chuckled as he pulled me close and pressed a kiss to my lips once more, I brought my hands up to his face, pulling him close to me as our lips moved together. Steve's grip around me tightened as he pulled his face away from mine. 

"Don't go getting yourself hurt Ellie. I have a date to take you on" he smirked as I rolled my eyes at him, "I'm serious. I want you to be safe Ellie, I wouldn't forgive myself if you weren't." he admitted as he looked into my eyes.

"I'm always safe, Cap" I chuckled as I went to turn my face away from him, his hands grabbed my cheeks and forced me to look at him.

"I'm serious Ellie. I care about you a lot, I don't want you to leave me." he sighed as I smiled and placed my hands over his which were still on my cheeks.

"I'm not going anywhere."

"Have i ever told you how attractive you are in that uniform?" I questioned as we trailed up the stairs behind Sam and Maria, "Does wonders for your behind too" I winked as Steve laughed and rolled his eyes.

"Shall I wear this on our first date?" he asked as I shook my head,

"As much as I love it, I want a normal date please, or at least as normal as it can get with an old Grandpa and a Goddess" I laughed, we got to the top and Maria tampered with the signal inside, soon enough the door opened and a man with a S.H.I.E.L.D hat on was in view.

"Excuse us" Steve smirked as we waltzed past him towards the tannoy, "Do you want to take this or shall I?" I motioned for him to go ahead and he hit the button. "Attention all S.H.I.E.L.D agents, this is Steve Rogers. You've heard a lot about me and Eleanor over the past few days. Some of you were even ordered to hunt us down, but I think it's time you knew the truth... S.H.I.E.L.D is not what we thought it was, it's been taken over by HYDRA. Alexander Pierce is their leader. The S.T.R.I.K.E and Insight crew are HYDRA as well. We don't know how many more, but we know they're in this building. They could be standing right next to you, they almost have what they want... Absolute control." he said as he took a step back and motioned for me to take the mic, oh this will be fun.

"They murdered my Father, Agent Paul Rice. They shot nick Fury and it won't end there. If you launch those helicarriers today, HYDRA will be able to kill anyone that stands in their way, unless we stop them. We know we're asking a lot but the price of freedom is high. It always has been. It's a price we're willing to pay... If we're the only ones then so be it. I'm willing to bet we're not." I said as I turned the mic off and Sam approached Steve and I.

"Couples speeches" he laughed, "Did you guys write that down first or was it off the top of your head?" he asked as I laughed,

"He did rehearse it several times on the way here" I joked as Steve rolled his eyes at me, "Come on big guys, let's go" I added as I looked at Maria and gave her a nod. We set off towards the exit to try catch the helicarriers before they launched.

"They're initiating launch now" Maria said through the comms as I looked over as Sam who was running beside me,

"Hey Cap, how do we tell the good guys from the bad guys?" he asked, looking past me and over to Steve.

"If they're shooting at you, they're bad" DAMN! When did he get so sassy? I chuckled as I launched myself up in the air with a gust of wind, Sam followed shortly after and Steve jumped down onto the first carrier. I looked back to see Steve getting shot at, nothing he couldn't quickly avoid as Sam and I got above the helicarriers before shots began firing at us.

"Hey Sam, I think I found those bad guys you were talking about" I chuckled through comms as I maneuvered myself around them, watching Sam do the same.

"Alright smart arse!" he chuckled as we both went to our separate carrieres,

"Falcon, status?" Maria asked through the comms, Sam replied and I chuckled under my breathe, 

"What's so funny Rice?" he asked as I landed on my carrier, sending out a blast and pushing back agents around me.

"I can't believe you're called Falcon. I think Pigeon suits you more" I smiled as I turned around and ran to cover. 

"If you don't die, I've decided I'm going to kill you myself" he joked as I laughed and grabbed a gun that was on the table I was behind before shooting a few guys in front of me.

"I think you'd have a very angry Cap if you killed his date" I smirked as I ducked behind cover once more.

"I knew it!" he exclaimed as I rolled my eyes and began moving forward, shooting anyone on sight. "Alright Cap. I'm in" he said as I looked over and saw a jet flying towards him, I saw him take off away from it. A few guys began shooting at me once more and I stood up, flinging my arms forward and creating a gust of wind, blowing the bullets back into them before moving on forward towards their bodies. 

"Eight minutes" Hill informed us as I walked through the door and began to go towards the command centre where we would be placing the chips to stop HYDRA. I knocked out a few guys along the way before coming face to face with the centre of the carrier. I quickly placed the chip in 

"Alpha lock" I said as I ran to the edge of the bridge and jumped off it. I shot the glass in front of me and let myself fall through before blasting myself upwards.

"Falcon, where are you now?" Maria asked,

"Had to take a detour" he shouted as I looked around and saw him still evading the jet.

"Jesus Sam, you'll never be an Avenger if you can't handle a little heat. I'm on my way!" I chuckled as I flew towards him, he was coming at me head on, "You go right. I'll get them off you" I smirked, "On my count... 3... 2... 1... NOW!" I shouted as Sam pulled right and I passed him, stopping myself from going forward and instead now pushing the air towards the jet. Causing it to lose balance, I landed on top of it and steadied myself. It's OK El... You can do this. I felt the jet and closed my eyes, concentrating on the fuel inside it, I allowed myself to get angry and see red. Squeezing my eyes shut as I focused on the fuel and only the fuel, it didn't take long before the jet exploded. I jumped up and allowed the wind to thrust me up, flying away from the ship.

"BRAVO LOCK!" Sam shouted, meaning that the second ship had been planted successfully. This could actually work, we were actually going to do this. "El, you got something on your tail" Sam warned me as I looked back to see a carrier flying at me. Can't a girl catch a break?

"Hey, Sam, gonna need a ride" Steve shouted through comms as I began to fly at one of the large jets.

"Roger. Let me know when you're ready" Just then I watched Steve jump off one of the larger carriers. That dumb piece of shi-

"I just did" I watched Sam race down and catch Steve before pulling him back up and onto another carrier, I quickly pulled myself up, letting the jet that was following me crash into the carrier as I landed just behind Steve and Sam.

"You know, you're a lot heavier than you look" Sam chuckled as he looked back at me and smiled,

"I had a big breakfast" Steve joked as we stormed towards the entrance of the carrier. Out of nowhere Bucky came and kicked Steve, throwing him off the carrier.

"STEVE!" Sam and I shouted, Sam started flying to get Steve when Bucky grabbed ahold of his wing, pulling him back onto the carrier. 

"I've got him" I shouted as Sam began to lay down fire and I took off to get Steve only to see him holding onto the edge of the carrier, "son of a bitch" I chuckled as I landed and pulled him up.

"Cap, Cap come in are you OK?" Sam worried as Steve got his balance on the ledge.

"Yeah I'm here... I'm still on the hellicarrier. Where are you?" he asked,

"I'm grounded" Sam explained, "The suits down. Sorry guys"

"Don't worry we got it"
