Sirius Black never thought that his feelings for the blonde known as Savannah Stone would escalate to this level. The level at which he would search for her face in the crowd, smile when she did, frown when she did, etc. He's a player, the bad boy of Hogwarts! He brings girls to his dorm or empty classrooms without a second thought, so why is he thinking about this blonde so much?
Before Hogwarts, he never knew love. The boys known as the Marauders were the ones to show him brotherly love. He didn't know how to treat a woman in a relationship; that's why it was always a shag-'em-and-leave-'em sort of thing that happened between a girl and Sirius. He didn't understand it when he felt differently towards Savannah than other girls at school. He still doesn't, really. All he knew was that he didn't just want Savannah for the sex, though he was sure it would be mind-blowing, intense sex. He wanted to be the reason her eyes lit up or why she smiled. He wanted to be there to rub her tears away or to calm her down when she got angry. He couldn't explain it, he knew he just wanted more.
Or at least, that's what he was thinking as he sat at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall on September the 2nd. His friends were carrying on a conversation, seemingly not noticing that he wasn't pitching into the conversation. Each boy had their schedules sitting in front of them, as they had magically been passed out.
He hated how he noticed when she walked in the Great Hall, looking at anything but a person as she strode to the end of the Gryffindor table. He hated how he loved the way her wild hair covered her face as she buttered her toast. He hated how he thought she looked amazing with her tie hung around her neck lazily and her robes hanging crookedly off of her small frame.
"Padfoot!"
Sirius jumped. It definitely sounded like it wasn't the first time his name had been said.
"Huh?" He asked, clearly surprised at being brought out of his daze.
James smirked at his best friend. "Too tied up in your fantasies?" He gestured to Savannah.
Sirius glared at James. "Oh, Evans just walked in," he said nonchalantly, shrugging as he grabbed some sausage.
James turned excitedly before turning back to Sirius. He glared at him as he threw a handful of grapes at him, making Sirius laugh and break up a piece of toast to throw at James.
Now, one thing led to another. None of the professors were present, as they were busy preparing for their first classes of the year. Food was soon tossed everywhere. Soon enough, everyone forgot that the Marauders started it as a full out war had started between Gryffindor and Slytherin. Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw were simply throwing food, not really caring where it landed. The Ravenclaws were more creative, hitting members of the other houses and pinning it on the other houses. At first, they were the only ones to use magic, but they gave that up for the pure excitement of throwing food with their own hands and the satisfaction of it hitting its target without magic.
Savannah Stone had gotten hit with yogurt from her brother, so she was involved as well. She was smirking as she threw food at Sirius Black, something she had wanted to do for a long time.
Sirius was getting food thrown at him from every angle, so he didn't think anything of the pancakes that were slowly inching their way up to his hair with every throw.
Savannah Stone let out a triumphant yell when she finally managed to get a pancake right on the top of his head, making him stop dead in the middle of his throw. A genuine smile graced her lips for the first time in public at Hogwarts. He slowly peeled off the pancake before turning in the direction of the yell. He smirked once he seen it was Savannah who had done it, ignoring how his chest swelled at the idea that she paid him attention.
He bent down and grabbed some strawberries, a handful in each hand. He was walking on top of the Gryffindor table down to Savannah, who was also standing on the table. Savannah was smirking right back, determined not to back down as she bent and grabbed some scrambled eggs.
Sirius stopped when he was about six feet away from her. "Last chance, Stone. Back down now," he yelled. The noise level in the Great Hall was high, meaning that he had to yell so that Savannah could even hear him.
"Never!" She yelled back as she reared her right arm back, getting ready to throw. This action pulled back her sleeve, showing off the small paw print tattoo.
Sirius had never noticed it before, so it made him pause. She couldn't know, could she? No, she couldn't even stand him so why would she get a tattoo to commemorate him even if she did know? She probably had a beloved pet back home. His pause, however, gave Savannah a chance to throw. One of her throws landed right on his face, while the other landed in the middle of his chest.
Savannah laughed, a melodic sound to Sirius. He didn't let this distract him; he couldn't.
Over the yells of the other students and the smell of many mixtures of food, Sirius called out, "You're dead, Stone!"
Savannah smirked until Sirius launched himself at her. She hurriedly jumped off of the table, before running to the Slytherin table for cover. She couldn't run to save her life, so she hoped that Sirius wouldn't dare to follow her into Slytherin territory.
When she crashed into someone and looked up, she feared that he did for a moment. It was the same black hair, the same stormy eyes. However, this stranger had his hair cut short and his eyes held more darkness in them than Sirius's.
That's when it hit her. Sirius has that brother in Slytherin, doesn't he? What's his name? Regulus? Romulus?
"Filthy Gryffindor, get back over where you belong," he sneered. Savannah didn't miss how he glanced to his left, where a group of students that looked to be about his age were standing and staring.
She was frozen in place, not by fear but by confusion. She didn't know how he could be so like Sirius, yet so different. There was undoubtedly a darkness to the younger Black brother. He bent down and whispered, "Please. Before I have to do something I don't want to."
Savannah looked up at him, confusion clouding her typically bright green eyes.
He pushed her away before stalking back to the group of students his age.
Savannah shook the encounter off as she got down on all fours to try to sneak back to the Gryffindor table. She tried to stay under the tables as much as possible, glancing around every so often to make sure neither Sirius or Dalton were near.
She was almost there when she felt someone grab her ankle and pull, turning her over and making her lay on her back as she stared up at him. Sirius smirked as he held a bowl of yogurt above his head, "Gotcha."
The next thing Savannah knew, yogurt rained down on her from head to toe. The next thing Savannah knew after that, Sirius was hovering above her, his hair glistening with grease, fruit juice, and yogurt.
He smirked at their close proximity. "Damn pancakes," he murmured.
It took Savannah a moment for her to piece it together. Someone had pummeled him with pancakes to the back, causing him to fall. It was lucky he caught himself with his forearms...
"Get off, please," Savannah managed to mutter through her embarrassment.
Sirius was still smirking. He stayed where he was for a moment before getting up and extending a hand to help Savannah up. He hoped she would take it, just so he could feel her hand in his. He was disappointed when Savannah ignored it and got up on her own, pushing past him.
She couldn't let herself get distracted, especially not by Sirius Black. Stay quiet, she reminded herself. Just like you've always been told.
