Sirius, Remus, James, Lily, Marlene, and Alice had decided to split up in search of Savannah. They were worried about how she ran off, especially how she had looked so distant and confused before she left.

James was heading outside to look when Savannah found him. "Prongs!" She called, making him turn around. He made his way towards her.

"Sava! Thank Merlin! C'mon, let's go find Lily and Sirius," he said, grabbing her arm.

"James, wait! I want to explain why I ran off. It's not because I'm upset about you guys not being able to join us tonight, but because I realized why you're not joining us," she explained, shaking her arm from his grip.

He raised a brow. "You did? Alright then, why is it?" He asked, not wanting to give anything up unless he knew she was right.

She looked both ways before leaning towards him and whispering, "What is it you boys refer to it as? Remus's furry little problem?" She recalled hearing them talk about it in hushed whispers before, but she had figured it was just a disguise for something else, or something more personal and... intimate.

His eyes widened. "You figured out he's a- a-" he said, but Savannah cut him off.

"A werewolf, yes. And that you boys are Animagi. I haven't quite figured out why Lily knows, but I figure it's because she finally decided to follow you all. You know, we always wondered where it was you lads snuck out to."

He let out a breath and ran his hand through his already messy hair. It's quite ironic, how his hair is always a mess but his father invented that hair potion, Savannah thought, before she brought herself back to the conversation.

"Wow, okay. Everyone's right, you are a smart cookie, aren't you?"

Savannah bit her lip, blushing before she nodded. "I mean, those nicknames, how sick Remus always looks once a month, how Lily always looks at her calendar worriedly around the same time, how all of you are always tired the next day, but sometimes Remus isn't there. It all makes sense, but I ran to the library just to make sure I was right before throwing something like that around," she explained quickly.

James nodded, with a touch of suspicion on his face as he asked, "And you don't think different of Moony?"

"Of course not! How could I? It's not his fault!"

Finally, James relaxed and grinned. "Oh, thank Merlin you know now. Marlene and Alice still don't, and we want to keep it that way."

Savannah nodded. "Of course. And, um, good luck tonight and stay safe, okay? Tell the other boys if I don't find them before then!" She said, turning to go up to the Astronomy tower, where she figured Sirius would be.

"Hey, where are you going?"

"To find Sirius!" She called over her shoulder.

"How do you know where he is?" James called back.

"I know, trust me!" She turned around, walking backward to call to James.

James shook his head. "Alright, then. I'm going to find Lily and tell her!"

Savannah nodded. "Okay! Tell her I'll find her sometime!"

James gave her a thumbs-up before he turned and jogged to where he knew Lily would be searching.

Savannah turned back around and hurried up to the Astronomy tower, thankful she now had friends like James.

"Sirius!" She exclaimed as soon as she arrived, before falling silent when she saw a group of Slytherins, including Severus Snape.

"Er, sorry. I thought I would find someone else here..." she trailed off, already turning to leave.

"Of course, your precious shagging buddy Sirius Black," Snape drawled.

Savannah flushed red with anger. "Shut up, Snape, if you know what's good for you," she growled, her hands curling into fists at her sides.

The group howled with laughter. "You struck a nerve, Sev! Looks like Black really is just using her to get some!" One of them laughed.

Savannah started backing away. No, he isn't using me. He hasn't even gotten any at all!  "You don't know what in the hell you're talking about. Now do as I say and shut the hell up."

They laughed again. "Oh, the tiny Gryffindor trying to roar. How cute. You know, it is cute how she's pretending to be all goody-two-shoes now. Now, why don't you just show us the real rebel inside," one she knew to be called Scabier hissed, taking a couple of steps toward her.

"Stop where you are. Get the hell away from me," she growled, pulling out her wand.

Scabier turned towards the others before turning back. "No, I think you'd be rather fun in the sack. Why don't you show us just how fun you are?"

"I said no. You're all disgusting, you know that right?"

Savannah noticed the others coming closer. She swallowed her fear and reached into her pocket, thankful to find one of the many smoke bombs her brother had given her to hold and hide for him. Straightening, she said, "You'll all regret this. You should've listened when I told you to stop." Her voice was cold and her eyes were glistening with fury.

Still, she could feel them undressing her with their eyes. She might be able to take them in a duel, she knew she was smart enough and quick enough, but she would rather not chance it. Narrowing her eyes, she threw the smoke bomb down before turning and bolting down the steps, hoping to run into someone she could trust.

She was a couple of floors above the common room when she ran into someone. She looked up to see James. "James! Oh, thank Merlin!" She exclaimed, practically collapsing in his arms. She allowed herself to cling to him for a moment before she realized they were probably following her.

"Come on! We have to run!" She told him, grabbing his arm to pull him as she started running again.

James ran with her, pulling her into one of the many secret passages he had memorized thanks to the Marauder's Map. Her behavior told him something seriously wrong was happening. They still didn't slow, running until they came out near the Fat Lady. They hurried up to her and James called out the password before pulling Savannah inside, thankful he heard the portrait shut behind them.

Savannah collapsed into James's arms, exhausted from the run and the fear that was coursing through her veins. She couldn't stop seeing how their eyes darkened, how they inched closer to her. She clung to him, sobbing.

"Oh, James! It was horrible! If I hadn't had one of Dalton's smoke bombs..." she trailed off, sobbing into his chest.

"James! What happened?" She vaguely heard her brother ask, putting his hands on her back to comfort her.

"Who did this?" Sirius exclaimed when he entered and saw Savannah sobbing into his best mate's chest.

The Common Room was remarkably empty, so it was just the four of them. The fire was crackling and the sunlight was streaming in through the windows, all of which Savannah wasn't paying any attention to.

"I got word from someone that a group of Slytherins were in the Astronomy tower and I knew Sava was looking for you, and I figured that was where she would look first, so I went to find her. I was halfway there when she knocked into me, terrified. Then we ran here because Sava insisted that we run," James explained.

"'Vannah," Sirius murmured, shifting her from James's arms to his. Savannah clung to him, her tears subsiding. She couldn't stop thinking about what almost happened, and she felt safe in Sirius's arms, so that was where she wanted to be.

Sirius sat down and allowed her to curl up in his lap, her face still buried in his shirt. Before long, the others took seats around them, thankful when Savannah finally fell asleep. Sirius simply stroked her hair and rubbed her back, hoping he was calming her down and keeping her asleep.

She managed not to dream about the group of Slytherins, but little did she know that Peter was there in the back the whole time.
