"Dalton? Savannah?" James exclaimed as he rushed out of the giant house, Sirius hot on his trail.

"Hey, mate!" Dalton replied brightly. He, like Savannah, has always been good at hiding his emotions.

"What are you two doing here?" Sirius asked as he came to a stop beside James, looking between Dalton and Savannah. He pushed away his excitement at seeing Savannah so soon.

"We wanted to start the party early, of course!" Dalton exclaimed with a grin that didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Then why do you both have your trunks?" James deadpanned, seeing through Dalton's act. Dalton had told the boys some of the stories from his childhood, but he left out a lot of it.

Dalton shrugged, looking to Savannah for help. She got the message and responded, "Alice had told me that we were staying until the end of break here at your house." She could only hope she was right.

James and Sirius exchanged glances. "Cut the shit. What did your parents do now?"

Savannah bit her lip and looked to her shoes. Great. You got it wrong. Just do like Mother and Father say and stay quiet.

Dalton glanced at Savannah out of the corner of his eye before sighing and telling the truth. "They kicked us out."

James's eyes widened. "Why didn't you just say so? C'mon!"

Sirius's gaze landed on Savannah and stayed there. He noticed a chain around her neck, but the necklace disappeared down into her shirt. He couldn't help but hope that it was the necklace he got her for Christmas. He wished she would look up and see that his eyes were on her, as always. How can one be so oblivious? He thought. He understood what she was going through; he wanted to help her. He left of his own accord, she didn't. All he wanted to do was help her and let her know that she wasn't alone.

Savannah looked up right after James elbowed Sirius, making him look away from the blonde. James gestured to the house, telling Sirius to lead the way.

Savannah and Dalton exchanged a glance before following the two. Savannah was rather nervous, as she would be spending the next couple of days with two boys she was friends with, but that had only started a couple months ago. She was also nervous about meeting James's parents, as she never liked meeting new people. She was sure they were kind, of course.

"Who was it, James dear?" Savannah heard Euphemia call from the kitchen.

A sweet smell, probably apple pie, Savannah thought, wafted through the house. Savannah looked around to see pictures of James as a child, along with newer ones featuring the other four Marauders. The walls were white with a small amount of detailing, giving off a fancy yet welcoming feel.

"Hello, Euphemia!" Dalton called.

"Dalton, is that you?" She called. Her voice was becoming louder, leading Savannah to believe that she was making her way into the entry hall.

"Yes!" Dalton replied, setting down his trunk as if he was preparing for something.

Savannah was right in thinking so, as a plump woman came in, immediately pulling Dalton into a hug. The woman had dark hair like James, and Savannah did see that she had hazel eyes like James.

They were soon joined by Fleamont, who James clearly got his facial features from. While he had his mother's eyes and hair, everything else was from his father. Fleamont had sandy blond hair and a lean body.

"Dalton, m'boy! How are you?" He asked Dalton after Euphemia let go of him.

That's when Euphemia noticed Savannah. "And what's your name, dear? Are you the Savannah we've been hearing about all break?" She asked with a kind smile.

Savannah felt herself blush, causing her to bite her lip as she nodded.

"My, you're as pretty as Sirius keeps saying!" She gushed as she came forward and hugged Savannah.

Savannah and Dalton's eyes widened while Sirius hid his embarrassment with a smirk. "C'mon, why'd you have to tell her?" He asked Euphemia with faux confidence.

"Don't be ashamed, Sirius dear," Euphemia replied, releasing a very uncomfortable Savannah.

Dalton's eyes narrowed in Sirius's direction. Sirius knew this, of course. He simply chose to ignore it for the time being. He knew that Dalton would interrogate him later.

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you Savannah," Fleamont told her to break the awkward silence that was ensuing.

"Nice to meet you as well," Savannah replied in a small voice, refusing to look in Sirius's direction.

"Let's get you two to your rooms," Euphemia said.

Savannah wasn't surprised when Euphemia led her and Dalton to their own rooms, or when she seen that Sirius wasn't staying in James's bedroom. In a house as big as this, I'm sure there's dozens of bedrooms, she thought.

Euphemia left her in what was for now her room, telling her that she'd send one of the boys up when dinner was ready.

The room was a light grey color, with dark wood floors. A massive white, faux fur rug was in the middle of the room, with a massive canopy bed above it. The bed had a quilt on it with blocks in various shades and patterns of grey, white, and black. There were white curtains that were pulled back from the bed. In the corner there was an oversized black armchair, with a matching footstool. The bedside tables were black as well, with white lamps. A desk sat at the same wall as the chair, with a large picture window in between it and the black armchair. There were doors that Savannah found out led to the bathroom and closet opposite the gigantic bed.

The bathroom held a claw foot bathtub and fancy shower. The sink was opposite the claw foot tub, with a window above the tub. There were cabinets with the fluffiest towels Savannah had ever seen on either side of the sink. Even the toilet was fancy!

Savannah felt quite out of her element amongst such fine things. She didn't want to touch anything due to the fear that she would make it dirty.

She put her trunk in the middle of the large empty closet before plucking a pair of pants and a shirt from it. She went into the bathroom and started filling the tub, thinking that a bath might help calm her raging emotions.

Some might call Savannah too skinny, as you could see her ribs. She had no curves whatsoever, most likely due to the malnutrition she went through with her parents. Even at Hogwarts she didn't each much, as she was always convinced her parents would find out and punish her for eating too much.

She tore her gaze away from herself after realizing that the tub was full. She climbed in, reveling in the feel of the hot water on her skin.

She had just pulled her clothes on and towel dried her hair when there was a knock on her door. She discarded her towel in the dirty clothes hamper just inside the bathroom door before pulling the bathroom door shut behind her.

"Come in," she replied quietly.

Sirius's head popped in. "Supper's ready."

"Okay." Savannah followed him down the stairs, staring at the space between his shoulder blades as he walked in front of her. She couldn't help but fantasize about the muscled torso hidden beneath his shirt.

Snap out of it!

Sirius debated about turning around and talking to her, but before he could they arrived in the dining room. He took a seat beside Savannah, as far away from Dalton as possible.

This is going to be a long break, Savannah thought before dipping some strawberries onto her plate.
