Chapter 34
Hi everyone! How are you doing today? I hope you're all well and ready for this new chapter. There's going to be a flashback in this chapter and we're going to find out a bit more about JJP from Minjoon. I hope you enjoy it! Let's gooooooo
Hyunjin groans a little as he starts to wake up. His neck feels stiff and he slowly sits up to stretch. He blinks a couple of times and realizes that he passed out on the couch in the living room. He looks to his right and sees his parents snuggled up against each other. Jimin's head is positioned under his husband's chin and presses against his chest. Namjoon has his arms thrown around Jimin's small figure and his mouth is a tad bit open letting out small snores. Hyunjin smiles at his parents, happy to be back once more. Hyunjin rolls his head around, trying to loosen it a bit. They must have all fallen asleep on the couch last night. He glances to his other side and frowns when he doesn't spot his boyfriend. He wonders if the boy may have gone back to his place at the Evermore headquarters for the night. It was definitely risky for him to return, especially considering he had just broken out one of their prisoners. The boy hopes that Jisung is okay. Hyunjin's stomach suddenly growls and he looks up at the clock that hangs on the wall. It's almost mid-day, no wonder he's starving. Hyunjin slowly gets up from the couch, careful to not awaken his parents. He walks towards the kitchen and is surprised to see someone already there. "Sungie?" Hyunjin questions.
The boy turns to look at Hyunjin and flashes him a smile, "Morning, sleeping beauty." He holds a clear glass of what looks like orange juice in his hand. "I thought you went back home," Hyunjin says, opening the fridge and taking out a carton of orange juice so he can have some as well.
Jisung shakes his head, "Nah, I just woke up before the rest of you. I was a bit thirsty. You don't mind that I helped myself, do you?"
"Nope," Hyunjin says, "Did you have a good night's sleep?"
"Yeah," Jisung answers, "Never thought I would be spending the night in my boyfriend's living room right beside his parents. What about you?"
"I slept better than I have in a long time," Hyunjin says with a small smile on his face.
"It's cause you're finally home," Jisung reasons. Hyunjin nods and gravitates to Jisung's side. He leans his head into the boy's shoulder and sighs, "I love you."
"I love you too," Jisung murmurs, pecking the boy on the forehead. The two fall silent, just enjoying being by each other's sides. Jisung looks to Hyunjin, who has a look of serenity upon his face. His eyes droop just a little, showing that the boy is still tired. His newly-dyed brown hair flops over his forehead and reminds Jisung of a puppy. Hyunjin's entire weight is basically on Jisung's shoulder, using him as a pillow. Jisung smiles at how adorable his boyfriend looks at the moment. He wishes he could take a picture of him and save it forever. "Why are you staring at me?" Hyunjin asks.
Jisung grins, "Cause, how can I not when you're this cute?"
"I'm not cute," Hyunjin huffs.
"Sure," Jisung says in a teasing tone. Hyunjin pouts and slowly opens his eyes to look at Jisung. He lets his gaze roam over his boyfriend's face. His hair is still tousled and sticking up in a few places, but it gives Jisung some sort of childish charm. Even though he looks like he just got out of bed, his eyes are shining with mischievousness. Hyunjin smiles, he never thought that a boy like this could make him so happy. But, that's what's great about love. It brings together two people that may not seem to work, but just do. Hyunjin doesn't know what the future holds, but he feels like a part of him will always love Jisung. He wonders if all couples feel this way. If all get this enamored by their partner. If they all feel so full with affection for their significant other. He knows his parents do. He sees them everyday and he's never once questioned their undying love for one another. But, love is a funky thing. Couples are a funky thing. "Wanna know what I'm thinking about?" Hyunjin asks.
"What?" Jisung asks, expecting him to say something about him or them or something else extremely romantic. He never expected for his boyfriend to give him the answer that he does. "Hm," Hyunjin murmurs, "Jinyoung and Jaebum."
Jisung scoffs at the mention of their names, "Well, that's a way to ruin the mood. Why are you thinking about them?"
"I don't know," Hyunjin says, "I guess cause they're a couple too. I mean they don't act like it most of the time and I don't even know if they love each other anymore. I just was wondering if they were ever like us..."
"Kind of hard to believe Jinyoung and Jaebum being super sappy couple goals," Jisung says. Hyunjin slowly lifts his head from his boyfriend's shoulder and nods. "Still, they definitely weren't always like this," Hyunjin says, "I mean they're together."
"Yeah, but I don't know if it's because they love each other," Jisung points out.
"It was for that reason before," Jimin says as he and Namjoon walk into the kitchen.

"Come on, Joonie!" Jimin exclaimed, "You know this one!"
"I really don't, Min," Namjoon said with a flustered expression. Jinyoung and Jaebum laughed at their friends' apparent struggle. They are gathered around a wooden table in a living room. They sat on the floor around the table, beside their respective lovers. There were a bunch of white colored cards with pink trimming on the table and a box strewn to the floor with the words The Ultimate Game for Couples on it. The friends had decided to have a game night and Jimin had brought the perfect game. He wanted to test their chemistry with one another and see which couple is the better one. So far, it's was not looking as it would be Jimin and Namjoon. "Time's up!" Jinyoung said in a loud voice.
Jimin groaned, "It's a Corgi! Hello! I love cuddles!"
"How was I supposed to know that!? What even is a Corgi!?" Namjoon whined, "This is a silly question."
"I got the answer right," Jaebum said with a wide smile, "My Jinyoungie is the embodiment of a Pomeranian. Sassy, smart, a big ball of fluff." Jinyoung beamed and pecked Jaebum on the cheek. "I love you," Jinyoung murmured, placing his chin on Jaebum's shoulder. He tilted his head up and smiled at his boyfriend. "I love you more," Jaebum said back, bringing his face closer to Jinyoung's. The young men's eyes are interlocked with one another. They don't speak at all, just continue to stare at one another with passion. Jimin and Namjoon share an exasperated look. Every single time. They'll be talking one second and the next they'll be making goo goo eyes at each other. "I hate you two," Jimin announced, tossing the rest of the cards onto the table. Jinyoung and Jaebum broke away from their staring contest, although they do sit significantly closer now and their hands are tightly interlocked. "Why?" Jinyoung asked with a sappy smile on his face.
"Cause, you're like this!" Jimin exclaimed, "Not to mention, you're kicking our asses in this game! What the heck!? I brought this over so we could show off how close we are, but you're totally one upping us!" It's true. Jinyoung and Jaebum were leading ten to three. They've only been playing for a couple minutes now, but it was fairly obvious who would win in the end. "Sorry, Minnie," Namjoon muttered, "I'm really bad at this game. I'm the reason we're losing." Jimin cooed as his partner pouted and looked at the floor dejectedly. "It's okay, darling," Jimin murmured, "This stupid game doesn't know anything. We're the best couple out there." He rubbed Namjoon's back in a comforting manner and placed a kiss to the back of his head. Namjoon slowly lifted his head back up and looked at Jimin with a small smile, thankful for his words. Jimin grinned back at him and gave him a quick peck on the lips. "I disagree with you Jimin," Jinyoung said suddenly, "I think we're the best. Right, Jaebummie?"
"Of course," Jaebum said, "We're soulmates."
"Awww, you think we're soulmates?" Jinyoung said in a happy tone.
"Yes! It's you and me forever," Jaebum said before capturing Jinyoung's lips with his own.
"Oh, Jaebum!" Jinyoung exclaimed in surprise as he started to kiss back his lover. Jinyoung gravitated onto Jaebum's lap and his hand found their way to Jaebum's hair. He tangled his fingers in his boyfriend's locks of hair and hummed as their lips blended together. Jaebum's arms found their way around the small of Jinyoung's back and he gently pushed the boy closer to him, as if they weren't close enough already. It's only the two of them as they continue to kiss as if the world is ending. Jimin and Namjoon have horrified looks on their faces. They quickly turn away from their friends' make-out fest and shield their ears. They can't understand how they can be this in love with one another. It's absolutely disgusting. There's no couple like Jinyoung and Jaebum. They're as in love with one another as they have been since the very beginning of their relationship. The passion they have for one another is like an eternal flame. There's no doubt about it. It's a constant. When it comes to the two of them, they're a couple that will last through it all. Namjoon and Jimin are sure of it.

"No way," Jisung says.
"Yup," Namjoon says with a shake of their heads, "They were unlike any other couple I've ever met. They were just meant to be."
"They're nothing like that now," Hyunjin comments, "To me it looks like they can barely tolerate each other." Jisung agrees. The couple that Jimin and Namjoon told them about sound absolutely nothing like the Jinyoung and Jaebum they know now. Could they really have changed that much? Were they once a normal couple in love? It seems impossible when you think about all the horrific things they've done. How could people this cruel ever be good guys? "His death ruined their relationship," Jimin says, "I always assumed that they would be in love with one another until the day they die, but Yugyeom's death changed that. It changed them."
"They were good people back then. They really were, even though it is hard to believe," Namjoon says, "I actually feel bad for them...they're monsters now, but they weren't always like that."
"Jinyoung and Jaebum were our closest friends. It's just a horrible and shameful thing to think they've become what they are today," Jimin says in a sad tone.
"I would have liked to meet the people they were back then," Hyunjin murmurs.
"Same," Jisung says. Even though the Evermore leaders freak the hell out of them now, they still would have liked to meet their kinder past selves. To see what Jinyoung and Jaebum could have been. "I wish you could have too," Namjoon says, "I would love to have them back, but now they're past the point of return. I don't even recognize those two at all. I used to at first, even when they started to do things that went against their morals. I could still see Jinyoung and Jaebum. I could still see my friends. But now, they're not them anymore. Jinyoung and Jaebum are gone and have been replaced by these things...these creatures..."
"We need to stop them," Jimin says, "We really do. Not just because they're after you, Hyunjin, but because they were our friends. Cause as people who used to know who they were in the past...it's up to us to honor them...to put a stop to these sides that killed the Jinyoung and Jaebum that we once knew..."
Done! Did you expect for JJP to be so lovey dovey once upon a time? What do you think is going to happen next? As we near the end of this story, I am more and more thankful to all my readers who stuck by me on this journey. I won't go full sappy just yet, but I will say thank you again for supporting my story. It means so, so much to me! I hope you continue to read and love my fanfic until the very end. Love you, Stays <3!
