Chapter 32

Hi! New day, new chapter. This pretty interesting, it's going to have a lot of time jumps so we can slowly but surely move this story along. Oh, and most importantly we get some special appearances from some other idols. Want to guess who it is? You're just going to have to read and see if your guess was correct or not. This chapter is going to have some violence and mention confinement and stuff, so fair warning to all readers before proceeding. That being said, I hope you enjoy chapter 32!

"Close the door," The man in charge states, "Don't want the others to catch wind that we have, Hwang Hyunjin." Two lanky men do as their boss says, slamming shut the van's doors simultaneously. "Now, let's get down to business," The man says, "My name is Taegu." He leans forward to take off the gag from around Hyunjin's mouth. Hyunjin glares at him before spitting on the face of his captor. Taegu chuckles and wipes at his face, "I was hoping to have a nice, respectable conversation with you."

"You freaking jumped me," Hyunjin states, "We're way past respectable."

Taegu shakes his head, "Don't make it seem so bad. It's not like we're kidnapping you. We're going to let you go as soon as you give us the ring and tell us where the others are."

"I don't have it," Hyunjin says.

"You know I don't believe that for a second," Taegu says, "I'll ask you again. Where's the ring?"

"My answer is the same as before," Hyunjin seethes, "I don't have the damn ring, so let me go!"

"Come on, Hwang," Taegu sighs, "You're really just making things so much harder. I didn't want to do this, but it seems you'll need a little pushing. Bring me my dagger."

"F-," Hyunjin starts before Taegu clamps his hand over his mouth.

"Ooooo, no cursing," Taegu says, bringing his face close to Hyunjin's. The boy glares at the man and proceeds to chomp on the man's hand. Taegu yelps in surprise and pulls away from the boy's mouth. The man growls and slaps Hyunjin again. The boy gasps as his cheek stings from the contact and blood drips from his mouth. "You have a lot more fight in you for some rich brat," Taegu says with a smirk, "Where's my freaking dagger?!" One of his lackeys lift a knife with a worn out hilt from a black duffel bag and starts to pass it to the leader. Before it even makes its way to the man's palm, the van shakes as someone rams right into the front of it. No one is sitting in the front, but this collision was enough to make the dagger fall out of the lackey's grip and slice a fairly deep line along Taegu's leg. "Shit!" Taegu hisses as blood drips down his leg, "Who the hell just hit us!? We're freaking parked!!! Open the goddamn doors, so I can see these assholes!" The lackeys quickly pull open the van's side doors and clamber out of the vehicle. Hyunjin shifts closer towards the doorway to see what's going on outside. He looks to where he saw Jisung being dragged before, but he can't spot his boyfriend at all. Hyunjin grits his teeth, wondering if the blue-haired boy is okay. He wishes he could run away now that the men are distracted, dealing with the people that hit them, but his legs and arms are still tied up. "We're so sorry!" A voice exclaims. Hyunjin stiffens when he hears the voice, recognizing it easily. Hyunjin moves slowly and sticks his head out the doorway. He gapes when he sees Jinyoung and Jaebum standing in front of their car, which has rammed into the front of his captor's truck. What the hell are they doing here? How did they know that he was in trouble? Are they saving him? Hyunjin flashes the two men a wary look. Jinyoung looks back at him and mouths, don't worry. Hyunjin shakes his head and goes back into the van. Don't worry? Ha, that's funny. He's doing nothing, but worrying. He thought his situation was already bad enough, now Jinyoung and Jaebum are here and it's gotten ten times worse. Hyunjin lets his head fall and waits for whatever is going to happen. It's not like he can do much anyway. His fate is in freaking Jaebum and Jinyoung's hands. "Great," Hyunjin grumbles. He sighs as he hears the sounds of fighting coming from outside. He's not even interested in who wins. In the end, the person that comes back isn't going to be on his side. Hyunjin is screwed either way. He'll either get money-hungry crazies or his family's murderers. Hyunjin sighs as the sounds of struggle and people yelling in pain echoes in the van. From those sounds, he already has an idea who is winning. Lucky him. Hyunjin waits a couple more minutes before Jinyoung and Jaebum appear at the doorway of the van. They have blood on their clothes and faces, but none of it is their own. "Let's get you out of here," Jaebum says. Hyunjin purses his lips together, but doesn't say anything as the couple climbs into the van and makes their way over to him. They use Taegu's dagger to cut at his bindings and free Hyunjin. "Come. It isn't safe here," Jinyoung says, grabbing Hyunjin's wrist and tugging him out of the van. The boy winces a little at the firm grip Jinyoung has on his hand. It's so tight that it'll most likely leave behind a mark. "What about?" Hyunjin murmurs.

"What about what?" Jaebum questions.

"Nothing," Hyunjin mutters, thinking about Jisung. Jinyoung grasps the boy's cheek, turning his face so that it's facing him. He stares right into Hyunjin's eyes and states, "You're not safe, Jinnie. Not here. Come with us. We saved you from those bad guys, remember? We'll keep you safe. We'll protect you." Hyunjin looks up at Jinyoung, who has an unnerving glint to his eye. His hold on Hyunjin's wrist has gotten tighter and Hyunjin knows he has no choice, but to follow the couple. They drag him to their car and shove him into the back seat. Hyunjin keeps his head lowered as they pull out of the van and drive off, hoping for someone to come and save him.

"Lunch," A boy with curly blonde hair says as he walks into a large bedroom holding a tray with soup on it. He walks over and places it on the clear desk that is against the wall. The room is brightly lit, but there's a somber feeling in the air. There's a bed with mahogany blankets across from the desk. On both sides of the bed are matching wooden side tables with cream colored lamps sitting on them. Next to the desk is a large armoire with an assortment of clothes and across from that wall is a window that spans most of the room. A boy with tawny brown hair that covers his forehead and peeks just a tad bit over his eyes stands by it, staring out at the world that he misses more than anything. The boy turns around and flashes the other a small smile, "Thanks, Chan hyung."

"You're welcome," Chan states, "You need anything?"

"To get out of here," The boy says back.

Chan frowns, "I wish I could give that to you, Hyunjin, but you know that they're not going to let you go."

"I know," Hyunjin mutters with a sad face, "They're giving me everything I want except for what I want the most."

"I'm sorry," Chan says.

"Don't be," Hyunjin says, "You're not the ones who kidnapped me."

"They're protecting you," Chan states, even though his face shows that he doesn't believe that at all.

"Yeah, yeah," Hyunjin murmurs, "How long has it been?"

"Four weeks," Chan answers, "Almost a month." Hyunjin lets out a sigh and walks over to the desk. He picks up the spoon on the tray and sticks it in the bowl. He swirls it around absentmindedly. Chan watches him with a solemn expression, feeling bad for the boy. "Can't you do anything?" Hyunjin asks in a quiet tone, staring at his soup.

Chan sighs, "I'm trying...just wait a bit longer..." Hyunjin nods his head, knowing that Chan really is trying his best to get him out of here. The day that Hyunjin was taken by Jinyoung and Jaebum, they threw him right into this room and locked the door. They attached a bracelet on his wrist that would administer a shock if he so much as took a step out of the room. The bracelet was mechanically locked and could only be removed by a remote button that only few had access to. Hyunjin was a prisoner. Even though he is stuck here, Evermore's leaders gave him all he needed to survive. They fed him during every meal, left him snacks even. They provided him with clean clothes and even a bathroom for him to use. They gave him a phone, albeit one without cell service, to occupy himself. He was given everything, hence the new hair color, but he was never allowed to leave the room. Bang Chan was assigned to be his attendee of sorts during his stay. At first, the boy hadn't spoken to him at all, seeing Hyunjin only as a job. That is until he walked in on Hyunjin crying one day over Jisung. It just so happened that Jisung is one of Chan's closest friends in the gang. The two got to know one another after that and when he discovered who Hyunjin actually is, Chan agreed to do everything he could to help the boy get out. He was in Evermore as a necessity and really disliked their leaders, so he didn't really have any loyalties to the gang. It was no easy task though. Jinyoung and Jaebum were set on not letting Hyunjin escape. They were closely monitoring him and anyone that was in contact with him, so Chan had to be super cautious with everything he did. Hyunjin knows that Chan is working on it, even though it is taking a very long time. He knows he'll be free one day. The only thing keeping him going is that hope. That he'll be out of here soon enough. Hyunjin has no connection at all to the outside world and he could only hope that his parents are alright. They're probably worried sick. He could only imagine what Jinyoung and Jaebum told them about his whereabouts. He wishes he could just tell them that he's okay. "I'll be back soon," Hyunjin murmurs to himself, thinking about his loved ones, "You can go, Chan hyung. I don't need anything else." The blonde nods his head and makes his way out of the room. When the boy leaves, the door is shut and the sound of the door being locked can be heard. Hyunjin sighs and drops the spoon, watching as it slips into the bowl and gets submerged into the soup.

◇─◇──◇────◇────◇────◇────◇────◇─────◇──◇─◇

Hyunjin doesn't react as the door to his prison is opened. It's been another two weeks and his hope is starting to waver. Chan comes everyday saying that it'll happen soon, but it never did. He doubts today will be any different. "Hyunjin," says someone with a voice that doesn't belong to Chan. Hyunjin's heart stills, recognizing that voice. It's the one of that annoying boy, who saved him from getting stabbed by a gangster. It's the one of that boy who defended him from his bully. The one who calmed him during his panic attack. The one who adopted a puppy for him. The one who loves him unconditionally. The one he loves. "Jisung," Hyunjin says, turning around to look at the boy standing at the doorway. He lets out a shaky breath as he takes in his boyfriend. The boy is wearing a leather jacket and ripped jeans. His hair is no longer blue and instead is a dark black shade with blonde highlights streaking through it. Hyunjin thinks he's never seen him look so handsome before. "Are you real?" Hyunjin asks, hoping he hasn't started to hallucinate.

"As real as can be, princess," Jisung says. He takes a step into the room and opens his arms wide. Hyunjin rushes into his arms and buries his face into the crook of his neck. He lets out a sigh of relief, "You're actually here."

"Yeah," Jisung murmurs, running a hand down Hyunjin's head, "I'm here."

"I missed you so much," Hyunjin murmurs.

Jisung squeezes the boy and nods, "I missed you too." The two boys stay locked in their embrace for a while longer before Jisung takes a step back. He cups Hyunjin's face in his palms and smiles, "It's been too long since I've seen your beautiful face. And look...you dyed your hair..."

"Do you like it?" Hyunjin asks.

Jisung touches his hair and nods, "I love it."

"I'm so happy you're here," Hyunjin says, "I was starting to lose hope. Are you okay? What about my parents?"

"I'm sorry it took me so long. I'm fine. Happy that I'm standing in front of you. Your parents have been really worried, but I'm sure they'll be okay once you're home again," Jisung says, "Have you been alright? They didn't hurt you, did they?"

Hyunjin shakes his head, "I've rarely spoken to them during my time here. They gave me everything I could possibly ask for. They kept saying this is for my protection even though I know they kidnapped me."

"What about the ring?" Jisung asks.

"They never mentioned it to me at all," Hyunjin says, "I have no idea why."

Jisung shakes his head, "That's cause they asked your parents about it."

"What?!" Hyunjin exclaims.

Jisung nods, "They were using you as a bargaining tool. The ring for you."

"My parents...they didn't..." Hyunjin says.

"No," Jisung explains, "They wanted to, but I stopped them. They weren't too happy with me, but I just knew that they didn't hurt you. Jinyoung and Jaebum are monsters. They will do anything to make people hurt, but I just didn't think they tortured you. Not in the traditional way at least. There's more than one way to hurt someone than with knives and fists. Psychological torture is something that I thought they would have used on you, since it would be the most effective. And, I turned out to be right. Chan hyung contacted me and told me that they had you locked up in here. I confronted Jinyoung and Jaebum immediately and demanded they free you, but they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about."

"You broke your cover," Hyunjin says, "They're going to hurt you, Jisung."

Jisung sighs, "Well, it was going to happen eventually. I did say I wasn't planning on sticking around and I think I've done all I've could here. I'm quitting after this. I just need to clear out my stuff, but that's for a later date. Now, we need to focus on getting you out of here.

"I can't," Hyunjin says, "The bracelet. The security cameras..."

"Do you think I would be standing here if those things were working?" Jisung asks, "This rescue mission took a lot longer than it should have, but it's because I wanted to make sure everything goes smoothly. I needed to get you out of here no matter what. My friend hacked the cameras and your bracelet. They're disabled." Hyunjin reaches for the bracelet and yanks at it. The metal part splits apart and Hyunjin drops it onto the floor. "Chan hyung gave me the key to your room and another one of my friend's set up my bike in the parking garage," Jisung explains, "Everyone is in the cafeteria eating lunch. This is our chance to get away. Come on. We need to hurry." Hyunjin nods and follows Jisung out of the room. The two move with their heads down and as quick as they can. They climb down a set of stairs to a main area that Hyunjin doesn't recognize. Jisung leads the way down an empty hallway and to the right. The two keep walking until they come up in front of a large white door. Jisung opens it and enters, followed by Hyunjin. The boys enter the garage which is filled with a variety of vehicles that are all used by Evermore. "My bike is near the back," Jisung says, breaking into a jog. Hyunjin follows him, knowing they have no time to waste. "There it is!" Jisung says, pointing it out. The two make their way over to it. Jisung quickly grabs the helmets, passing one to Hyunjin and putting the other on. Hyunjin is about to put on his when a voice calls out to them. "Stop!" The voice bellows. Hyunjin stiffens and looks behind him where a buff man in a tank-top is jogging over to them. Jisung lifts the visor of his helmet to get a clear look at the man. His eyes widen, "Jackson hyung?"

"Who is this?" Hyunjin asks in a quiet tone.

"My name's Jackson Wang," The man says, standing right in front of the two, "I'm the second in command of Evermore and one Jinyoung and Jaebum's closest friends." Hyunjin gulps, wondering if this man is going to turn them in. "Where are you two going?" Jackson asks.

"Getting him out of here while everyone is at lunch," Jisung states. Hyunjin flashes his boyfriend a look, having no idea why he would be telling someone this close to Jinyoung and Jaebum that he was breaking him out. "Hm," Jackson says, "It took you long enough. I expected you kids to put something together faster."

"They didn't make it easy, okay!" Jisung exclaims.

"Yeah, yeah," Jackson says with a smile.

"Wait, what?" Hyunjin questions, not understanding why this man isn't attacking them.

"Jackson hyung is a good guy," Jisung says, "He and Mark hyung saved me when Jinyoung and Jaebum were attacking me."

Jackson nods, "They're my friends and that's why I stick around, but it doesn't mean I agree with the way they're doing things. I actually used to be close friends with your dad."

"Really?" Hyunjin asks.

Jackson nods and holds his hand out, "Give this to your parents. Would you?" The man passes Hyunjin a folded up piece of yellow paper. Hyunjin takes it from him and shoves it into his pocket, "What is it?"

"Just a message," Jackson says, "This has gone on for far too long. It's time I stop being soft with my friends."

"What does that mean?" Hyunjin questions.

"You'll find out," Jackson states, "Later. You two need to go." Jisung nods his head and gently nudges Hyunjin. The boy looks at Jackson for a second longer before slipping on the helmet. The two clamber onto the bike and Jisung starts it up. He hits a button which opens the garage door. "Be safe," Jackson says as Jisung revs the bike up and drives out of the Evermore compound.
