Chapter 27
Hi, everyone! How are you all doing? Are you ready to see what's going to come next in the story? I hope you're excited. Also, have you been watching Stray Kids on Kingdom? I think they're doing amazing!!!! I'm so excited to see their future stages. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter!
"This was supposed to be a quick job," Jaebum huffs, "We never should have revealed that we were his uncles. It's just prolonging this mission."
Jinyoung sighs, "Look at it on the upside. Hyunjin did recognize it that time we showed him his mother's picture. He flipped out. Not to mention, we got Hyunjin to trust us."
"For all we know, it could've just been because he was seeing his mother for the first time ever. And I could care less about that boy trusting me. I just want the ring," Jaebum states.
"And we will get it," Jinyoung says, "Don't worry. All in due time..."
"I don't have the patience for this plan, Nyoungie," Jaebum complains, "I say we just kill him and then we can raid his house and look for that ring. Hell, we may even get to kill Namjoon and Jimin in the process. It's quicker and easier. Let's just give up on the whole getting him to trust us crap."
"Why are you always so gung ho for a fight?" Jinyoung questions, "Do you really think just the two of us will be able to break in? Namjoon and Jimin kicked our asses once...as much as I hate to admit it. This plan ensures we get the ring with no bloodshed on either side. So, quit your whining. We are sticking with the plan."
"Bloodshed is fun though," Jaebum mutters, "Fine, no killing, but can't we at least torture him? I mean he hasn't even mentioned the ring. If we mess him up a bit, I'm sure he'll tell us right away."
"No," Jinyoung states.
Jaebum rolls his eyes, "What? You attached to the kid? He's not your actual nephew, Jinyoung." The man doesn't say anything, getting a faraway look in his eyes. Jaebum looks at the man and frowns when he recognizes that expression. "Hyunjin isn't Yugyeom. You better not be trying to replace our son with that money whore. Have you forgotten what his family did?"
"No, you idiot. I'm not replacing Yugeyom," Jinyoung growls, "And I know exactly what his family did. It's the reason we're going after him in the first place."
"Then why won't you let me hurt him," Jaebum questions.
"Because, it's a bad idea. If Hyunjin was anyone else's kid, I would have told you to go right ahead. But, he's not. He's Jimin and Namjoon's kid. He's a Moonlight member. I don't want another war. We just got back," Jinyoung says.
Jaebum sighs, "Fine."
"You can mess with him though," Jinyoung says, "Just toy with him. That's fun for you too, isn't it?"
Jaebum nods, "Yeah..."
"Good," Jinyoung says, "And don't worry about this taking too long. I plan on finding out where that ring is today."

Hyunjin frowns when his phone starts to buzz. He's getting a call from Jinyoung. What could he want? Hyunjin sits up and taps on his phone, answering the call. "Hello?" Hyunjin says.
"Hyunjin, do you think you could come over?" Jinyoung asks.
Hyunjin purses his lips together, "Um...I don't know...I'm kind of doing homework."
"It'll only take a little bit," Jinyoung says, "Please, Hyunjin. It's important." Hyunjin scrunches up his nose and sighs. He really doesn't want to go, but he is curious about what's so important that Jinyoung needs him to come over so suddenly. He would much rather stick around here, but he thinks that his uncle won't take no for an answer, so he may as well just relent. "Okay. I'll be over in ten," Hyunjin says.
"See you soon," Jinyoung says before ending the call. Hyunjin sighs again and slowly picks himself up from the couch. He goes to grab his sweatshirt from where it hangs over a chair. He starts to make his way outside when a voice stops him. "Were you really going to leave without telling me?" Jisung asks from the couch. His eyes are half open and his hair is messy. Hyunjin smiles and shakes his head, "You were sleeping. I didn't want to wake you up."
"Hm..." Jisung hums, "Where are you going?"
"To my uncles," Hyunjin answers.
Jisung frowns, "Why?"
"No idea," Hyunjin says, "Jinyoung just said there was something important he has to tell me."
"Be careful," Jisung states.
Hyunjin nods, "I will. Don't worry. You're spending the night at my place, right?" Jisung nods and starts to comb his hands through his tangled hair. "Head over there soon," Hyunjin says, "Jinhyuk already knows who you are so he should let you in." Jisung nods and waves. Hyunjin blows the boy a kiss before walking out of the hideout and towards his uncle's place. When he arrives, he's surprised to see both of his uncles standing outside waiting for him. "Hi, what's up," Hyunjin says as he approaches the two.
Jaebum flashes the boy a tight lipped smile, "We wanted to discuss something with you." Hyunjin's eyebrows raise at the serious tone of his uncles that match their stern faces. The boy wonders what is up? They've never acted like this in front of him before. "It's about a family heirloom," Jinyoung says.
Hyunjin frowns, "Okay?"
"It's a ring," Jinyoung states, "It's passed on from the parent to the oldest child for as long as I can remember. Your mom was given the ring and now that she is no longer with us, I would like to have it back. The police didn't find it on her when they took her from the crash, so I can only assume that you have it. Do you?" Hyunjin shakes his head. He has a feeling that the ring is the one that Minhyun was telling him about. The ring that was on that necklace of his. The ring that his mom was wearing in that photo. The ring that Jinyoung and Jaebum want. "Are you sure?" Jaebum questions, "The ring is something very special to Jinyoung. If you have any idea where it is, please let us know." Jinyoung and Jaebum stare at him in a way that chills his soul. Hyunjin shakes his head again. Jinyoung sighs, "Maybe, if you saw a picture." Hyunjin stiffens a little, but quickly relaxes, trying not to show how this conversation is affecting him. He can't let his uncles know that he knows about the ring. He really has no idea where it is, but he knows what it is and if they found out that, Hyunjin can only imagine what they may do to him. Jinyoung reaches into his pocket and pulls out the same photo of his mom from before. The man points to the ring, "Recognize it?" Hyunjin shakes his head again, even though he does. From his flash of a memory prior to his panic attack and the ring's fifth sibling that Minhyun holds. "I'm sorry," Hyunjin says, "I don't remember it at all." Jinyoung and Jaebum look at him suspiciously. Hyunjin's heart thumps in his chest and he shifts just a little. He never expected for his uncles to ask him directly about the rings. This only seems to confirm Minhyun's words. His uncles want the rings. They must really be getting desperate to ask Hyunjin about his mom's ring like this. "Hyunjin, you better not be-," Jinyoung starts only to be cut off by a loud buzzing noise. Hyunjin's eyes widen and he reaches into his pocket. He lets out a sigh of relief when he sees it's his Uncle Tae. Thank goodness for his uncle. Hyunjin had an idea what Jinyoung was going to say and he really didn't know how he was going to get out of that. "It's my uncle," Hyunjin says, "Is that all you needed to ask me? Cause I should take his call..."
Jaebum sighs, "Yeah, go." Hyunjin flashes the two a smile before quickly walking away to take the call. Jinyoung and Jaebum have firm expressions on their faces at the glower at the boy who becomes smaller as he gets farther away. "Stupid boy," Jinyoung mutters, "Jaebummie...you may get your wish after all..."

Hyunjin buries his face into his pillow and groans. Jisung sits on the carpeted floor, playing with Kkami, whose tail wags excitedly. He looks over to his boyfriend and sighs, "That bad, huh?" Hyunjin nods his head and groans into his pillow again. The two are in Hyunjin's bedroom. The boy's parents are still out of the country, so he invited his boyfriend to stay the night. This is probably the only time they'll ever get to do this, so Hyunjin jumped on the chance while he still can. The boy's excited to spend the entire night with his boyfriend. Netflix and chill. Eat snacks. Snuggle. Kiss. Just be normal teenagers in love. Even just for one night. Hyunjin slowly gets back up when he feels the bed move as Jisung sits down on it. "I don't have the ring," Hyunjin murmurs, moving closer to Jisung and wrapping his arms around the boy. Jisung leans into the boy's hold and places a gentle kiss on his chin. Jisung pats his hand and nods, "I know, but everyone seems to think you do. I'll be honest, I do as well..."
Hyunjin groans, "But, I don't! Really!"
"Okay, okay," Jisung murmurs, "I just think maybe you're parents have it or something."
"And never told me?" Hyunjin asks.
Jisung shrugs, "Maybe. It's a ring, Hyunjin. They couldn't exactly have given it to you when you were younger. They probably forgot about it as you grew up. But, I'm just assuming. You need to tell them about all of this when they get back. Maybe they can fill in some of the gaps in this story."
"Yeah," Hyunjin says, "I plan on telling them the second they walk through the door."
Jisung hums as he plays with Hyunjin's fingers, "Too bad we can't just be like other couples..."
"Yeah," Hyunjin murmurs, "But...we wouldn't have met if we were like normal people."
"True," Jisung says, "I'm glad I took on that mission...cause it led me to you."
Hyunjin groans, "You're so gross. You're watching too many dramas."
"I only watch them cause you insist I do," Jisung retorts, "And why are you complaining, I'm sure you love cheesy. You're such a big romantic softie." Hyunjin blushes and nods his head. Jisung laughs and presses another kiss to Hyunjin's chin. "You know what the worst thing that could happen right now is?" Jisung asks.
Hyunjin shakes his head, "What?"
"Your parents get home early," Jisung says, "They see me in your room and then skin me alive."
"I thought you said you weren't scared of them anymore," Hyunjin says, "I thought you guys were getting along."
"Yeah, but that's when I was just your friend," Jisung says, "Imagine their reaction when they find out I'm your boyfriend." Jisung shudders at the thought and Hyunjin bursts into a fit of giggles, imagining Jisung's terrified expression as his parents start to go all bad cop on the boy. Hyunjin slowly pulls away from Jisung and sprawls out on the bed. He stares up at the ceiling and sighs, "I wanted tonight to just be fun for the two of us, but I can't stop thinking about my uncles and my brother and this big mess that comes with the birth family I can't remember."
Jisung asks out of curiosity, "Are you going to keep calling them your uncles and brother?"
"I don't even know which one of them is lying or if they both are," Hyunjin says, "I might as well continue calling them that. Don't want them to get suspicious that I don't trust them..."
Jisung nods, "I wish I could be of more help."
"You already are," Hyunjin says, "You're spying on my uncles. Even though it could get you killed."
"I can handle myself," Jisung says, "Remember."
Hyunjin sighs, "I know. I'm just stressed and worried. I have so many questions and no answers. I want to know if anything Minhyun told me is true. If it is, how come my parents couldn't find my family? The Hwangs were supposedly famous. Where has Minhyun been hiding all this time? Why now? And what about Jinyoung and Jaebum? Did they actually cause the accident? Is that why they suddenly came into my life?"
"I told you that we would figure it out," Jisung says, "Asking all these questions is just going to make you lose your mind." Hyunjin nods, knowing his boyfriend is right. Still, his mind is circling with who to believe, who's a liar, and what is going on. The boy looks to his left and reaches for a Magic 8 ball that sits on his desk. He holds it up into the air and shakes it. Jisung watches him, "Are you really consulting a Magic 8 ball for answers?"
"Yes," Hyunjin states, shaking it again. Jisung watches as he shakes the ball in his hand. He knows Hyunjin wants answers, he does too, but the boy is going a bit crazy. This whole mystery has consumed his life and has taken a toll on the boy. Jisung has noticed. Hyunjin is thinking or talking about this all the time. He knows that Hyunjin can't just ignore all that's happening, but that doesn't mean he has to drive himself nuts trying to piece it together. Jisung won't let him. They will figure this out and it may not be right away, but they will. Until then, Jisung has to make sure his boyfriend doesn't let this chaos ruin him. "It's just a cheap toy," Jisung jokes, taking the ball from Hyunjin's hand and places it on his desk.
Hyunjin scrunches up his nose and reaches for the ball, "It is not. I'll have you know I spend $10 on this." Jisung gently pushes the ball farther away and Hyunjin crosses his arms with a huff. Jisung smiles, knowing just the way he can easily distract Hyunjin from his thoughts, "There you go again, complaining about money...you do know you're rich, right?"
"You do know you don't always have to make fun of me. How is it that you're in love with me but still endlessly tease me?" Hyunjin whines.
"You make it easy," Jisung says with a smirk. Hyunjin pouts and Jisung shifts closer to him. Hyunjin looks at the boy and his eyebrows furrow, "What are you doing?"
"What do you think?" Jisung asks, placing his hand underneath Hyunjin's chin and pressing his lips to the boy's own. The kiss is short and sweet, but it leaves Hyunjin wanting more. A soft smile is on his lips and his cheeks are warm. It's unbelievable how Jisung is able to just take his breath away with a little peck on the lips. Jisung pulls away and looks at his lover affectionately, "You should smile more. I love it when my princess is happy..."
"Hm...kiss me more than," Hyunjin says in a giddy tone, "I'll be happier then."
"Gladly," Jisung says before lowering his lips onto the others once again.
Uwu, my Hyunsung heart! I love how even with all this craziness in their lives Jisung and Hyunjin can still be happily in love! We'll see how long it lasts 😈. JJP also revealed their true colors a bit in this chapter. How many of you actually saw this coming? A lot of you have been sus of the two since the beginning. We still don't really know their full plan though or why they want the rings in the first place. Tell me in the comments what you think. While you're at it, please vote, follow me, add this story to your library, and check out my KPop one-shots. I hope you have a great rest of your weekend. Bye!
